LAST MONTH’S CYBER-HEIST FROM MAJOR AMERICAN BANKS: HINTS OF THE EXPANDING GEOPOLITICAL AND COVERT CONFLICT

Last month as many of you are aware, there were large cyber-attacks and heists waged against major American banks by people or parties unknown. Recently, the aptly-named SHTF.com website is reporting that Russia and Iran may have been behind the attacks:

This article comes to the correct conclusions in my opinion, and in doing so, touches upon a key methodology of the power elites. Consider the end paragraphs once again:

“As noted in the RSA report, Denial-of-Service attacks responsible for taking down the web sites of several of the nation’s largest banks last month were attributed to an online terrorist organization. According to the U.S. government, the cyber terror cell had direct ties to, you guessed it, the Iranian government.
‘Additionally, this week the Intelligence Committee of U.S. Congress requested a ban on two Chinese technology firms for their undermining of national security. According to a report from Real Agenda, a one year investigation by the committee concluded that the firms Huawei and ZTE have been illegally transferring sensitive corporate information to China through the use of their telecommunication network access in the United States. Moreover, Google this week issued emergency emails to users of their gmail service citing a “state sponsored” hijacking threat to sensitive user information and communiques.
“Considering the Obama administration has, since September, been circulating a draft of an Executive Order which aims to implement some of the regulations and security features of the 2012 Cybersecurity Act which failed to muster enough votes in Congress earlier this year, this latest report regarding the possibility of an attack on the consumer banking system and customer funds at the largest financial institutions in the country could be another psychological operation designed to rally support for legislation that would give the government more monitoring and control over domestic internet activity.
“Whether this is a ploy to coerce Congress and the American people to give up their online privacy rights, or, in fact, a legitimate threat to U.S. bank customers is anybody’s guess.
“(Perhaps it’s a mixture of both – never let a good crisis go to waste)
“According to some analysts there are gaping holes in the online consumer banking system that could easily allow such a trojan to first identify security credentials to access personal accounts, and then to rapidly distribute funds within those accounts to fake bank accounts around the world. That the perpetrators have been identified as originating in Europe and Russia ads further credence to the possibility that this is real….”

Over the past few weeks and months, I have been blogging and talking about the fact that the West’s overreach and geopolitical unipolarism would provoke an inevitable backlash against it, and that this would originate from Russia and China, and come in the form, initially, of “soft” forms of covert warfare, such as cyber-warfare and economic warfare against prime banks and so on. From one point of view, therefore, it looks as if my prediction may be coming true even faster than I had imagined. We may therefore make another prediction: these attacks will now specifically be directed against the European Union and NATO, and be of a form designed to force both entities to crack up by detaching certain key members nations – Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and possibly Italy and Spain – from the alliance system. If successful, this would leave the USA stripped of much of its proxy power. it is conceivable, perhaps, to see Russia and China offering unilateral deals and agreements to hard-pressed economies such as Greece, Spain, and Italy that beat the austerity programs emanating from Europe’s central banks and the IMF, both increasingly seen as shills for the Anglo-American financial complex.
But as the paragraphs above indicate, the other possibility is the cyber-false flag incident, and in either case, whether the attack is genuine and emanates directly from Russian and/or Chinese sources, or from the West’s own crazed oligarchical elites, in either case, the result is the same in the West, and particularly in America: more calls for tighter internet regulation and security; orchestrate any crisis, whether real or false flag, to the benefit of the elite. This is the operative principle now.
However, I mentioned in a recent blog that Russia’s decision to ban certain American organizations came less from its fear of “democracy” and more from the proven track record of those organizations being nothing but vehicles for Western, and particularly American, covert operations designed to bring back into power within Russia a more compliant, Yeltsin like government. I warned then that two can play the covert operations game…
…so in the next phase of this widening geopolitical conflict, we may expect not only more operations designed to crack up the EU or NATO, but also more direct kinds of covert action within western nations themselves, as popular movements such as the Tea Bag or Occupy movements are not only co-opted by western oligarchs, but more directly, by those two powers themselves.
We are thus a long way from the Cold War, during which, of course, covert operations of all kinds abounded. The new characteristic of the immediate and emerging geopolitical conflict is already apparent in this cyber-economic warfare: covert operations are now designed to be known, to send messages, the message in this case, from Russia with Love, is that two can, and two will, play the covert- and cyber-warfare game.
