(NaturalNews) It has been well over a century since the last major solar storm hit the earth, but sooner or later, it will happen again. It's only a question of when, and many scientists believe that the recurrence of such an event is overdue.
In fact, scientists claim that the likelihood of a coronal mass ejection on the scale of the 1859 Carrington Event - the most devastating solar storm on record - is around one percent annually, which means that it should have already happened, statistically speaking.

As previously reported by Natural News, the Carrington Event fried telegraph networks in several countries and lit up the sky with auroral displays so bright they could be seen even near the equator.

When a solar storm of this magnitude hits the earth again, the consequences will be far more disastrous given our complete dependence on electronic devices, electronic systems and the power grid - all of which will almost certainly be wiped out. This will include items such as cell phones, toasters, automobile ignition systems, and the electrical power that we take for granted and rely on more heavily than most of us would care to imagine.

Up to a decade with no power grid

It could take years or even a decade before the power grid and some sense of normalcy can be restored. In the meantime, there is a strong likelihood that millions of people -- particularly those living in urban areas -- will perish within a short time after the event.

Without power to the cities, social order will quickly collapse and mayhem will ensue.

The UK's Department of Business, Innovation and Skills has just released its Space Weather Preparedness Strategy, which outlines "the nature of the risk to the UK from severe space weather, our progress to prepare for the risk and our priorities for future work."

The strategy for preparing for such occurrences, according to the Brits, is threefold:

The UK approach to space weather preparedness is set out in this document and is underpinned by three elements: designing mitigation into infrastructure where possible; developing the ability to provide alerts and warnings of space weather and its potential impacts; and having in place plans to respond to severe events. Preparation is needed to the national level, with the support of local capabilities to deal with the consequences. This all requires of international co-ordination.

The document points out the fact that "awareness of the risk is low" and that the public needs to be informed that when a major solar storm occurs, there will be a maximum 12-hour warning period before the harmful x-rays and radiation reach the Earth.

Although there is nothing that can be done to accurately predict when such an occurrence might happen -- much less be able to do anything to stop it -- there are steps the public can take to prepare for it.

Are you prepared for the worst?

In fact, the strategy report suggests that reparations for a solar storm are basically the same as for any other disaster - basically, citizens need to have at least a short-term supply of fresh water, non-perishable food and other supplies, such as flashlights, candles, first aid kits and weapons for self-defense.

In other words, you should stockpile survival supplies in the manner that "preppers" have been doing for years. Often looked upon as "doomsday wackos," preppers are the ones most likely to survive a solar storm or any of the other possible disasters that could strike without warning at any time. These scenarios include extreme weather events, EMPs, wars, natural disasters such as earthquakes, and many others.

More and more people are realizing that "preparedness" is not just for extremists and survivalists, but for anyone who wants a decent chance at survival after a solar storm or any of the other possible cataclysmic occurrences that we face. Many of these scenarios, such as a massive solar event, are not nearly as far-fetched as some people would like to believe.

If you are suddenly warned that you have only 12 hours before a major solar storm hits the earth that is likely to disrupt the power grid for an indefinite amount of time, will you be prepared for it?

(NaturalNews) It seems that some public policies are more important than others when it comes to the Obama Administration and other leftist regimes around the world.

In recent days, the U.S. government and, perhaps eventually, others in Europe and Asia, lashed out at Volkswagen after the company was caught cheating on U.S. air pollution tests. The carmaker installed sophisticated software known in the industry as "defeat devices" in the electronic control module of vehicles with diesel engines between 2008 and 2015, according to CNBC.

The software was designed to sense when an emissions test was being conducted on the vehicle based on the position of the steering wheel, vehicle speed, the duration of the engine's operation and barometric pressure. When the software sensed these inputs, it activated a sort of "test mode" when the front wheels of the vehicle were on a dynamometer. That allowed emissions controls to run full-on during the official test; while on the road, however, the vehicles emitted 10 to 40 times the legal amount.

The Environmental Protection Agency raised the issue with Volkswagen after independent researchers questioned the emissions.

VW chiefs reacted quickly to the news, apologizing for the irregularities and pledging cooperation. But none of that will matter: The EPA is expected to land heavily on VW, imposing a fine of $37,500 per diesel vehicle sold in the U.S. since 2008. That's 482,000 vehicles, which could mean a penalty of up to $18 billion, CNBC reported.

Why punish this Nazi-founded corporation?

So far the EPA has not forced VW to issue a total recall, but the agency is expected to; that, too, will be paid for by the carmaker. Lawsuits are also expected.

Now, here's the irony: VW was founded in 1937 as a state-owned enterprise, at the height of Nazi Party rule. The German Labor Front, a Nazi-affiliated organization, initially operated the company.

But other companies either founded by Nazis or who assisted Nazi Germany during World War II have never been held to account, despite the fact that the regime they did business with was responsible for millions of deaths and the near-extermination of the Jewish culture.

One of them was IG Farben, maker of Bayer aspirin. Founded in 1925, the company eventually became a mainstay supplier for the Nazi regime. As noted in the book Hell's Cartel: IG Farben and the Making of Hitler's War Machine, the company – the fourth-largest in the world at the time – even used labor from the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp for a synthetic rubber plant it built in occupied Poland, Bloomberg News reported.

Oil, chemicals and Holocaust assistance

Bloomberg further reported:

IG Farben went on to build a plant at Auschwitz so massive that it consumed more electricity per day than Berlin. It was in effect a privately run death camp, where inmate workers' life expectancy was only a few months. That was hardly the only activity that put IG Farben at the center of the Nazi nightmare. An IG Farben subsidiary produced Zyklon B, the pesticide repurposed by the SS for the gas chambers. And the conglomerate was the main supplier of chemical products essential to the Nazi war machine.

Then there is Standard Oil, founded and owned by the famous Rockefeller clan (the modern iterations are ExxonMobile and Chevron). Before and during World War II, Standard Oil's various subsidiaries sold oil to the Nazi (and Japanese) regime(s). In 1941, a State Department report detailed "refueling stations in Mexico and Central and South America that were suspected of furnishing oil to Italian and German merchant vessels. The report listed Standard Oil of New Jersey and Standard Oil of California among those fueling enemy ships," according to an MIT historical account. No action was taken against what was, at the time, the largest oil company on the planet.

Finally, there is IBM. In the 1930s and '40s, the company's punch card system – the precursor to the computer – was used to first identify, then enslave, and then kill millions of Jews, according to the book IBM and the Holocaust: The Strategic Alliance Between Nazi Germany and America's Most Powerful Corporation, as noted in this New York Times book review.

Again, no punishment was ever meted out by our government. But let a Nazi-founded carmaker put a few extra tons of carbon in the air, and the boom must be lowered.

Russian government to outlaw all GMO food products to protect citizens' health

(NaturalNews) As the American people are being force-fed GMOs and petitioning their government for honest food labels, other countries around the world are already removing the transgenic ingredients from their food supply. As Americans beg to know what kind of agro-chemicals and GMOs are in their food, the Russian government is taking historic measures to eliminate the production of genetically modified food altogether.
Manipulating nature at the genetic level and turning it into property and profit is how the biotech industry does business. The most infamous biotech giant, Monsanto, which is headquartered in St. Louis, practically runs the government agencies that were put in place to keep the people safe. It turns out that government safety agencies, especially the FDA, can be hijacked by powerful industries to advance corporate agendas at home and around the world.

One country that's not going to put up with it is Russia.

Russia takes a stand against GMOs

Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich made the news public at an international conference on biotechnology in the Russian city of Kirov. "As far as genetically-modified organisms are concerned, we have made decision not to use any GMO in food productions." By mid 2017, all GMO products that could come into contact with the environment must be registered with the Russian government. At that time, all genetically modified food production will come to a halt, freeing Russian farmers to produce wholesome, unadulterated food.

Over the past ten years, shares of GMOs in Russia have fallen from 12 percent to .01 percent. This is mainly because the Russian government is not infiltrated by the biotech industry as it is in America. Monsanto operatives have routinely colluded with the U.S. government through the years as the great biotech industry seeks to push genetically modified organisms and agro-chemicals on the population.

Here is a short list of some of the Monsanto operatives who have infiltrated the US government:

• Arthur Hull Hayes is a former FDA Commissioner who was a consultant to Searle's Public Relations Firm, which ultimately merged with Monsanto.
• Margaret Miller was appointed Deputy Director of the FDA in 1991. She was also a top Monsanto scientist who helped approve recombinant bovine growth hormone in dairy products.
• Michael Taylor was appointed as FDA Deputy Commission for Policy by Obama in 2010. He also served at the Monsanto Washington, D.C. office and worked as an attorney for Monsanto for seven years.
• Clarence Thomas was appointed to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1991. He was a former Monsanto lawyer who never cared about chemical pollution of the environment.
• Dr. Virginia Weldon was a former member of the FDA's Metabolism & Endocrine Advisory Committee who also worked as Senior Vice President for Public Policy at Monsanto.
• Anne Veneman was appointed the head of the USDA in 2001. Her previous employer was a Monsanto Biotech subsidiary called Calgene. She served on Calgene's Board of Directors.
• William D. Ruckelshaus was the very first Chief Administrator for the EPA. He later became acting director of the FBI and the Deputy U.S. Attorney General. In the private sector, he was a member of the Monsanto Board of Directors.
• Richard J. Mahoney was the CEO of Monsanto for 14 years. He also was a member of the U.S. Government Trade Policy Committee, directing trade to U.S. Soviet, Japanese and Korean Trade Councils.
• Hillary R. Clinton became Secretary of State under Obama and is looking to become U.S. President. Her previous experience includes her work as Monsanto Counsel for the Rose Law Firm.

On October 3, Tass said Russian aircraft conducted over 60 sorties so far, bombing 50 ISIS targets, causing consternation in its ranks. National Defence Control Centre Col. General Andrey Kartapolov said “aircraft have been taking off from the Hmeimim air base (night and day), targeting the whole of Syria.”

“In the past three days we have managed to disrupt the terrorists’ infrastructure and to substantially degrade their combat capabilities. Intelligence reports say that militants are leaving the areas under their control.”

“A bunker-busting BETAB-500 air bomb dropped from a Sukhoi Su-34 bomber near Raqqa has eliminated the command post of one of the terror groups, together with an underground storage facility for explosives and munitions.”

A powerful precision electro-optical TV-guided KAB-500 air bomb was used against an ISIS location near Maarrat al-Numan, destroying its facilities, weapons, ammunition, fuel and equipment.

Photographic evidence showed major damage and destruction of ISIS targets struck. Drones maintain round-the-clock surveillance of their activities.

Chosen targets are “promptly engaged, regardless of” atmospheric conditions, Kartapolov explained.

“There is panic and desertion among (ISIS) ranks. Nearly 600 mercenaries have abandoned their positions and are making attempts to get out to Europe.”

US media feature willful Pentagon misinformation and Big Lies, including Air Force General Robert Otto claiming Russia is using “dumb bombs,” not laser-guided precision weapons, accusing Moscow irresponsibly of indiscriminate bombing – polar opposite truth.

Claims about Russian air strikes killing civilians are willfully falsified. Targets are carefully chosen to avoid them – unlike how America operates.

Deliberately targeting an Afghan hospital last week, killing and injuring doctors, other medical staff and patients is the latest US atrocity. Calling a willful war crime collateral damage compounds it.

Washington won’t cooperate with Russia in a real war on terrorism for obvious reasons. Waging it undermines its objective, using ISIS and other takfiri terrorist to achieve its strategic aims.

Over the past week, regular readers here will have noticed I have been blogging a great deal about the geopolitical earthquake that has been unfolding before our eyes, and with a rapidity that is almost incomprehensible. I have also suggested that this is in response - partly - to an American foreign policy increasingly seen both by America's allies and "enemies" as out of control, irrational, and destablizing. That earthquake has three components and  possible fourth and fifth components, and thus far this past week I have been writing about two of them:

1. The meeting of the French, Russian, and German foreign ministers, Laurent Fabius, Sergei Lavrov, and Frank-Walter Steinmeir, in Berlin, to greenlight Russian military intervention in Syria, and most probably to discuss a schedule of decoupling Europe from the American economic sanctions regime, and also how to deal with the disastrous American meddling in the Ukraine;
2. Russian President Vladimir Putin's remarks to his officers, stating clearly and unequivocally thet Russia intends to end the radical Islamicist movement ISIS in Syria, to protect CHristian and other minorities in the Levant, and that such groups were sponsored by Washington and Riyadh, which everyone knew, but which no world leader has yet stated so clearly and unequivocally

The fourth component, which I suggested yesterday, was Pope Francis I, or rather, the papacy, and Francis' recent, but all but forgotten statement, that Christians have the right of self-defense against radical Islam. The possible fifth component is a potential Chinese intervention in Syria as well, in response to an invitation from Mr. Assad to do so. In this respect, one needs to recall that Islamic terrorists have been at work in the far western provinces of that country too.
But what's the third component?
Over the past few weeks we've also been watching the United Kingdom very closely, and alluded to subtle messages coming from organs of that nation's oligarchical elite that have clearly indicated a growing measure of discontent with Washington. The United Kingdom, let us only recall, was one of the founding members, and is thus on the board, of China's Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank. Of all the major economic and military powers of the world, only the USA and Japan declined to join.  There have been two principal factors to my arguments and high octane speculations that Great Britain was perfected poised to exploit the growing disenchantment with the post-9/11 Washington regime: (1) Great Britain is the leader of the British Commonwealth, and if it plays its cards properly, could revive the soft power of culture that the Commonwealth represents. This of course, will require a subtle reversal of its own domestic policies vis-a-vis emigration during Europe's growing refugee crisis. But much more important, is the second factor: (2) Britain has a great deal to gain economically, financially, and industrially, from a collaboration with China and other Asian nations if it is willing to bury the long historical policy of trying to "keep China down", and cooperate more positively.

The first four paragraphs say it all, and I hope the reader appreciates the geopolitical-financial earthquake that this represents:

Britain and China agreed on Monday to a series of initiatives ranging from an expanded currency swap agreement, Chinese investment in British nuclear power, and a feasibility study for a scheme to connect the London and Shanghai stock markets.
Speaking on the second of a five day visit to China, finance minister George Osborne said Britain would be Beijing's "best partner in the West".
He said the recent market turmoil in China was no reason for Britain not to engage more deeply with the world's second-largest economy.
Osborne wants more Chinese investment in Britain, and has championed London's bid to become the dominant center for offshore yuan trading in Europe. He said connecting the London and Shanghai stock markets would benefit Britain in the long run.(All emphases added)

What struck me - well, to be honest, stunned me - were Finance Minister Osborne's statement that the U.K. would be "Beiking's best partner in the West," language which far just a micron short of saying that Britain and China would have a "special relationship," words usually applied to the relationship between the UK and USA that developed in the necessities of collaboration, rather than confrontation, during two world wars. Nor is the statement merely rhetorical, for reading between the lines of the first paragraph doesn't require much high octane speculation to see what might be happening: an "expanded currency swamp agreement" is simply code for the agreement on direct convertibility of currency bypassing the US dollar, an arrangement that would both be necessitated by, and facilitate, the connecting of the London and Shanghai stock markets.
If they're not getting the message in Washington or the American corporate media now, then they'll never get it. Ponder that, before you ponder voting for a socialist from Vermont, or for a poisonous plant from Florida, or a clueless Cuban-American senator spouting the party line about Putin, or for any of the other mediocrities you see on the stage of so-called "debates." The rest of the world is voting "no confidence," and it's easy to see why.
