Smart TV Exploit Means Hackers Can Watch You Watch TV

Smart TV Exploit Means Hackers Can Watch You Watch TV

from the i-spy-with-my-little-eye dept

Remember all the hubbub (now there's a word I never thought I'd use; thanks a lot, aging process) over Comcast's kind of, maybe plan to spy on subscribers through their cable box as they watch TV, fold their laundry, or engage in coitus? There was quite an outcry at the time, even as Comcast said that the plan was only to have the cameras be able to recognize when different types or numbers of people were watching the tube. People just didn't feel comfortable with corporations being able to spy on them. As a result, Comcast backed away from the plan -- the people had defeated the corporation.

All, apparently, so that hackers could spy on them instead. At least, that's what some reports are saying about Samsung Smart TVs and an exploit that would allow hackers to snatch social media credentials, access any files or devices connected to the smart TV...oh, and to use the built in cameras to spy the hell out of people as they do whatever they do while watching television.
In an e-mail exchange with Security Ledger, the Malta-based firm said that the previously unknown ("zero day") hole affects Samsung Smart TVs running the latest version of the company's Linux-based firmware. It could give an attacker the ability to access any file available on the remote device, as well as external devices (such as USB drives) connected to the TV. And, in a Orwellian twist, the hole could be used to access cameras and microphones attached to the Smart TVs, giving remote attacker the ability to spy on those viewing a compromised set.
The group that reportedly discovered the vulnerability, ReVuln, proudly stated that they would not publish any information about what they'd uncovered except to paying subscribers because screw everyone else (not an actual quote). They also have a company policy, apparently, that would prevent them from working with Samsung directly on a fix or even to disclose the hole, leading me to reach the logical conclusion that Dr. Evil is apparently running that company.

Even more fun, thanks to how Samsung designed the product, chances are any fix that could be produced would be difficult to implement.
Currently, the Smart TVs offer no native security features, such as a firewall, user authentication or application whitelisting. More critically: there is no independent software update capability, meaning that, barring a firmware update from Samsung, the exploitable hole can't be patched without "voiding the device's warranty and using other exploits," ReVuln said.

The company posted a video of an attack on a Samsung TV LED 3D Smart TV online. It shows an attacker gaining shell access to the TV, copying the contents of its hard drive to an external device and mounting them on a local drive, providing access to photos, documents and other content. ReVuln said an attacker would also be able to lift credentials from any social networks or other online services accessed from the device.
In other words, customers get to wait around until Samsung can figure this thing out on their own, since ReVuln won't help them out by company policy, or risk voiding their warranty on their smart TV that has a complete lack of security features. Nicely done, everyone involved.

“Scream and Shout”: A Video About Britney Spears Being Under Mind Control

Dec 12th, 2012 | Category: Featured, Music Business |

will.i.am and Britney Spears’ video “Scream and Shout” features Britney “singing” in a British accent. But that’s not the only mind-control related part of this video. In this article, we’ll look at the Monarch programming symbolism in “Scream and Shout”.

Britney Spears is probably the most obvious victim of mind control in the music industry. If the strange facts regarding her personal life are not enough to convince an educated observer, the symbolism surrounding her act tells it all. Almost as if her handlers were mocking her sad mental state while bragging about it to the public, Britney is made to perform in videos such as Hold it Against Me (read the article about it here) and Scream and Shout – which symbolically refer to her own mental slavery.
Like all things related to the occult elite, the message is conveyed in veiled symbolic ways that require some prior knowledge to be understood. Viewed in this way, Scream and Shout is yet another example of a pop video laced with mind control symbolism hidden under the guise of “style” and aesthetics.
While will.i.am appears to be playing the role of the handler (he “selects” a Monarch programming alter persona at the beginning of the video), Britney plays the role of the slave, even singing with a weird British accent – as if an alter persona had been triggered. Monarch slaves can indeed be programmed to embody a totally different identity, complete with a back story and an accent.
The disturbing fact about Britney singing with a British accent is that, during the time she made tabloid news for “mental problems”, she was caught speaking with a British accent in real life. Here’s an article from 2008 that describes Britney’s strange behavior. It even states that her odd behavior is symptomatic of “dissociative identity disorder” – a medical term that pretty much describes what Monarch programming is all about. (Also, notice the animal-print dress in the next picture – a pattern used to identify Sex-Kitten Monarch slaves).

Britney Spears Lapses Into a British Accent

Britney Spears has a new accessory to go with her pink wig: a British accent.
In the last several weeks, Spears, 26, has been videotaped numerous times trading her Louisiana twang for U.K. inflections.
“She had the English accent thing going the whole time” while shopping at Kitson last Thursday, according to a source. “It didn’t stop.”
Even when angry, the accent appears. On an L.A. shopping trip to Macy’s on Jan. 13, she screamed at the paparazzi, “Get out of my G—— face!” – in a British accent.
So is it all in fun or has she flipped her pink wig?
“When someone has dissociative identity disorder” – formerly known as multiple personality disorder – “each identity is split off from the other,” says L.A. psychologist Renee A. Cohen, who is not treating Spears. “Each identity would have its own name, memories, behavioral traits and emotional characteristics.”
Cohen says the critical question is: “When Britney uses the British accent, or appears to take on another identity, does she know she’s Britney Spears?”
“Otherwise, she could simply be behaving this way for attention, for sympathy, or any other reason,” adds Cohen. “It’s foolish to attempt to diagnose her without a formal evaluation.”
One possible influence could be Spears’s maternal grandmother, Lilian Bridges, who was originally from England.
Also, Spears’s new beau, photographer Adnan Ghalib, grew up in Birmingham, England.
According to paparazzi who trail the singer around the clock, one thing is for sure: the pink wig means something’s changing.
“When she puts on the pink wig, you just know something crazy is about to happen,” said one paparazzo.

So Britney, who has been diagnosed with severe psychological issues, sings with a British accent, a symptom of dissociative identity disorder, one of her reported conditions. Isn’t this a little twisted? Using a symptom of mental illness in a pop song? Especially considering the fact that she most probably was told to do this? But the actual truth behind all of this is even more twisted: Britney does not simply have “psychological issues” … she is a victim of mind control. She most likely has several personas programmed into her – one which may have a British accent. In Scream and Shout this alter appears to be switched on. This might sound a little outlandish, but the symbolism in the video makes everything clear.
(For more information on Monarch Mind Control, please read the article entitled Origins and Techniques of Monarch Mind Control first).

Scream and Shout … That It’s About Mind Control

According to the video director Ben More, the theme of the video is multiplicity. More says the idea behind it “was essentially trying to reduce what the song is about to symbols”. Britney multiplying herself and extensive MK-related imagery indeed give the video a dark symbolic meaning.
The video does not have an intricate storyline, instead it is comprised of a series shots with aesthetic appeal. And, of course, MK symbolism. Rather than babble for days about this video, I’ll just highlight some of its symbolic shots – all of which follow themes promoted by the elite such as mind control and dehumanization.

Multiplying Personas

Is Will.I.Am selecting Britney’s alter persona?
The video begins with will.i.am browsing through filters (à la Instagram) to apply on a picture of a butterfly. This scene can represent will.i.am as a Monarch Programming Handler who switches and triggers alter personas of an MK slave. This slave is represented here by a Monarch butterfly having alters applied to it the same way filters are applied to pictures. But who is the MK butterfly? Britney Spears with her fake British accent, of course.
On several occasions, Britney is shown "multiplying herself". Is it a way of symbolically representing her having multiple personas?
On several occasions, Britney is shown “multiplying herself”. Is it a way of symbolically representing her multiple personas? will.i.am gets the same treatment – handlers are often MK victims themselves.

In this apparently random scene, an unknown hooded person smashes into a wall and breaks in multiple pieces. Does this represent a MK slave fragmenting in multiple personalites?

Dehumanization

The theme of transhumanism, robotization and dehumanization is always prevalent in MK-themed videos, and this one is no exception. On top of the heavily auto-tuned and robotic singing in the video, viewers are treated to visuals that mirror the constant trend of dehumanization in mass media. Hidden under the guise of being futuristic, these images tells viewers what the elite thinks the future SHOULD look like.
This artificial limb company probably paid a good chunk of change to have its product featured in the video. It is also there because it perfectly synchs with the robotic-dehumanized theme of the video.

The above image is somewhat remiscient of this now popular image representing transhumanism - which pushes the merging of humans with robots.
The image from the video is reminiscent of this popular image representing transhumanism – which pushes the merging of humans with robots.

Here we see a 3D model of Will.I.Am being conceived. In other words, a synthetic, alter Will.I.Am.
Here we see a 3D model of will.i.am being conceived … a synthetic will.i.am created by a machine.

Portrayed as mounted trophies? Like we do with animals that were hunted? Who hunted them? Their handlers?
Portrayed as mounted trophies? The same way hunters proudly display the animals they shot? Not very engrossing.

One-Eye

Of course, in this MK-Ultra themed video, there’s some one-eye imagery going on.
One of this guy's eyes is apparently a camera lens - a futuristic way of placing inevitable the one-eye sign into the video.
One of this guy’s eyes is apparently a camera lens – a creepy, futuristic way of placing the inevitable one-eye sign into the video.

Guy on the left: Yup, one-eye once again.
Guy on the left: one-eye for no particular reason.

Finding Another Victim?

The video ends in a symbolic matter. Will.I.Am fires a net, catching a golden statue representing a naked woman. Did the handler find a new victim to program?
will.i.am fires a net that catches a golden statue of naked woman. Did the handler find a new victim to program?

In Conclusion

When one understands the true living conditions of Britney Spears as a Monarch slave under the control of MK handlers – the underlying meaning of her video Scream and Shout is somewhat unsettling. There is something seriously twisted in having her sing and perform about her own enslavement, going as far as having her adopt a British accent, like when she was completely “broken down” in 2008. There is something even more twisted in having young people from all over the world watching this imagery, not knowing that it symbolically refers to Monarch Programming, a practice that as sadistic as it is horrifying.
Regular readers of Vigilant Citizen might notice that there is redundancy in the messages and imagery found in recent pop videos. While this also causes some of my music business articles to be somewhat redundant, my goal is to highlight the pattern that emerges, to prove that there is a conscious and sustained effort to push a specific agenda to the masses. Each repetition is further proof that there is no coincidence or “reaching” here, just the execution of a clear and defined agenda focused on the propagation and normalization of a specific set of messages and symbols.
Given the way Britney is mocked in her own video, it is easy to understand that not only do those in control not have positive intentions … but that they relish the fact that they own this virtual slave. Considering that state of mind, wouldn’t you think that they’d love to see the whole world, to certain extent, under this type of mind control?

Disruptive Innovation: Bad For Some Old Businesses, Good For Everyone Else

from the also-known-as-'progress' dept

I recently joked that it felt like the main purpose of Kickstarter seemed to be to convince the world they wanted simplified wallets and fancy ink pens. If you don't spend much time on Kickstarter, you may have missed that those two categories seem to account for a somewhat-larger-than-expected percentage of projects that people find interesting. The wallets, in particular, fascinate me, because there are an absolutely insane number of new wallet projects, with nearly every single one claiming to have reinvented wallets. I had no idea that the wallet market was open to such disruption.

Of course, it may be open to an entirely different form of disruption. As Nick Bilton at the NYTimes recently pointed out, as his smartphone has been able to do more and more, he's beginning to think that wallets may be becoming entirely obsolete. There's almost nothing he still needs to carry on his person since nearly everything that used to be in his wallet can now be taken care of via his smartphone:
Printed photos, which once came in “wallet size,” have been replaced by an endless roll of snapshots on my phone. Business cards, one of the more archaic forms of communication from the last few decades, now exist as digital rap sheets that can be shared with a click or a bump.

As for cash, I rarely touch the stuff anymore. Most of the time I pay for things — lunch, gas, clothes — with a single debit card. Increasingly, there are also opportunities to skip plastic cards. At Starbucks, I often pay with my smartphone using the official Starbucks app. Other cafes and small restaurants allow people to pay with Square. You simply say your name at a register and voilá, transaction complete.

But wait, what did I do with all of the other cardlike things, like my gym membership I.D., discount cards, insurance cards and coupons? I simply took digital pictures of them, which I keep in a photos folder on my smartphone that is easily accessible. Many stores have apps for their customer cards, and insurance companies have apps that substitute for paper identification.
It's not entirely obsolete, but Nick makes a compelling case that it's heading in that direction. To be fair, many of the new wallets seen on Kickstarter are, in effect, responses to this trend. The most popular styles appear to be "simplified" or "minimal" wallets that shrink down what you have to carry, so that you can just take the few essential cards with you. But, it's possible that many people will be able to get by entirely without a wallet in the not-too-distant future.

This, in turn, reminded me of something else: about how disruption may destroy industries while making our own lives better in the process -- but that simple economics tends to do a bad job recognizing that. I've talked about how traditional economic measures might measure the wrong thing. So, if we're looking at wallets, for example, those in the wallet-making business might claim that this move towards the digitization/smartphonification of everything is "bad" for the "wallet industry." That's obviously silly, and most people aren't too concerned about the wallet industry. But that ignores just how many industries are being totally upended by the smartphone. Think of all the things you don't need any more due to the smartphone. A few months back, the Cato Institute put together a fun chart on "dematerialization" due to the smart phone, trying to make the argument that advances in technology, such as the smartphone, might also be good for the environment, since they lead to people needing a lot fewer physical devices, since they're all packaged into that tiny device in your pocket:
Of course, what this also points out is the nature of disruption and innovation. Disruptive innovation, by its nature, destroys entire industries or segments of industries by making them obsolete. If you simply measure the economic impact on the fact that those industries are no longer present, or that those products are no longer being sold for hundreds of dollars, you could argue that there's a negative impact on the economy. But, if you flip it around and look at (a) how much better our lives are, in that we have access to all that at the touch of our finger tips in a single smartphone, and (b) that as compared to buying all those other devices, individuals actually get to keep more money to themselves (though, not necessarily in their now obsolete wallets) to be spent in more productive ways, it seems like it's actually a really good thing.

But this is something that we often struggle with from a policy standpoint. While no one claims to be missing "the fax" industry, lots of industries at risk of disruption will do all sorts of things to angle policy makers into blocking that disruption, by arguing about the economic impact of their own industries, and falsely implying that, if they're disrupted away, all of that money somehow "disappears" from the economy. But the nature of innovation is that we make things obsolete by making other things better and more powerful and changing the way we do things. The end result is, generally speaking (and, yes, there are exceptions), better for everyone, enabling them to do more with less and do so more productively. Whether it's a "wallet" or the entire list of things in the graphic above, progress has an amazing way of destroying old ways of doing business, and we shouldn't fear or worry about that, we should celebrate it.

HSBC Might Pay $1.8 Billion Money Laundering Fine: Sources

Kirsty Wigglesworth
HSBC Holdings might pay a fine of $1.8 billion as part of a settlement with U.S. law-enforcement agencies over money-laundering lapses, according to several people familiar with the matter.
The settlement with Europe's biggest bank - which could be announced as soon as next week - will likely involve HSBC entering into a deferred prosecution agreement with federal prosecutors, said the sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The potential settlement, which has been in the works for months, is emerging as a test case for just how big a signal U.S. prosecutors want to send to try to halt illicit flows of money moving through U.S. banks.
An HSBC spokesman said: "We are cooperating with authorities in ongoing investigations. The nature of discussions is confidential."
HSBC said on Nov. 5 that it set aside $1.5 billion to cover a potential fine for breaching anti-money laundering controls in Mexico and other violations, although Chief Executive Stuart Gulliver said the cost could be "significantly higher."
In regulatory filings, HSBC has said it could face criminal charges. But similar U.S. investigations have culminated in deferred prosecution deals, where law-enforcement agencies delay or forgo prosecuting a company if it admits wrongdoing, pays a fine and agrees to clean up its compliance systems. If the company missteps again, the Justice Department could prosecute.
A deferred prosecution agreement could raise questions over whether HSBC is simply paying a big fine and nothing more, said Jimmy Gurule, a former enforcement official at the U.S. Treasury.
It would make a "mockery of the criminal justice system," said Gurule, who is now a University of Notre Dame law-school professor.
In his view, the only way to really catch the attention of banks is to indict individuals.
"That would send a shockwave through the international finance services community," Gurule said. "It would put the fear of God in bank officials that knowingly disregard the law."
An HSBC settlement, long rumored, has been slow in coming. Inside the Justice Department, prosecutors in Washington, D.C. and West Virginia argued over how to best investigate HSBC. According to documents reviewed by Reuters, the U.S. Attorney's office in Wheeling, West Virginia, was prepared as far back as 2010 to indict HSBC and include more than 170 money laundering counts.
Prosecutors in Washington ultimately took charge.
In June, the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations released a report saying HSBC allowed clients to move shadowy funds from Mexico, Iran, the Cayman Islands, Saudi Arabia and Syria.
The use of deferred prosecution agreements has surged in recent years because Justice Department officials believe they give prosecutors an option aside from indicting a company or dropping a case.
According to a report in May by the Manhattan Institute for Policy Research, a conservative-leaning think tank, there have been 207 deferred or non-prosecution agreements since 2004.
The agreements "have become a mainstay of white collar criminal law enforcement," U.S. Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer said in September during an appearance at the New York City Bar Association.
"I've heard people criticize them and I've heard people praise them. DPAs have had a truly transformative effect on particular companies and, more generally, on corporate culture across the globe."
If U.S. prosecutors agree to a deferred agreement, they still could wield a powerful legal tool by accusing the bank of laundering money.
That would be a much more serious charge than if prosecutors, in a deferred agreement, charged HSBC with criminal violations of the Bank Secrecy Act, a law that requires banks to maintain programs that root out suspecious transactions.
In March 2010, for example, Wells Fargo & Co's Wachovia entered into a deferred prosecution agreement to pay $160 million as part of a Justice Department probe that examined how drug traffickers moved money through the bank. Wachovia was accused of violating the Bank Secrecy Act, a decision that prompted criticism from some observers who thought a money laundering charge should have been employed and individual bankers prosecuted.
A charge of money laundering would be a rare move by the Justice Department and would send a signal to other big banks that the agency is intent on cracking down on dirty money moving through the U.S. financial system.

The Coming Water Wars

by Dave Hodges -  thecommonsenseshow.com
water warsThe powers of financial capitalism had (a) far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world as a whole. This system was to be controlled in a feudalist fashion by the central banks of the world acting in concert, by secret agreements arrived at in frequent meetings and conferences…”

Professor Carroll Quigley, Mentor to President Bill Clinton

Very soon, America will be forced into water wars in order to secure the precious asset of water for our people. This will force our people into more wars of occupation in a search for water. Meanwhile, every nation that America conquers, is one less country that the bankers have to worry about taking over. At the end of the day, if America wants water, someday, Americans will have to go to war to obtain water.
As any aware person knows, Agenda 21 is being used as a front for the purpose of increasing the bottom of line of select global corporations. Bolivia is being exploited to this end and is serving as the canary in the mine with regard to what lies ahead for the United States and the coming water wars.
The United States sits upon a fiscal cliff. Economic devastation is in the cards for the US. Many wonder what will happen when the country defaults and cannot pay its bills. The answer is simple, our country will enter receivership. Once receivership is thrust upon our country, the bankers will begin to take control of our assets. Among the prize assets coveted by the globalist bankers will be our water supply.  Soon, very soon, our water supplies will become the most expensive in the world. Obtaining water for many Americans will soon be a life and death struggle.
Global consumption of water is doubling every 20 years, more than twice the rate of human population growth (United Nations Development Program, 2007). Also, according to the United Nations, more than one billion people already lack access to fresh drinking water (United Nations Developmental Program, 2007). If the current trend continues, by 2025 the demand for fresh water is expected to rise by over 50% more than the amount of water that is currently available. Multinational corporations recognize these trends and are trying to monopolize water supplies around the world. Monsanto, Bechtel, and other global multinationals are seeking control of world water systems and supplies. The World Bank recently adopted a policy of water privatization and full-cost water pricing. The World Bank’s policy of privatizing the world’s water supply conveniently coincides with the United Nations Agenda 21. Agenda 21 is actively promoting the privatization for the world’s water supplies through a “water for profit” scheme. “…(i) At the lowest appropriate level, delegation of water resources management, generally, to such a level, in accordance with national legislation, including decentralization of government services to local authorities, private enterprises and communities…” (United Nations Environment Program, 2007).
Agenda 21 further addresses the looming water crisis in Chapter 18 (.35) which states that “…water is a unitary resource. Long-term development of global freshwater requires holistic management of resources and a recognition of the interconnectedness of the elements related to freshwater and freshwater quality. There are few regions of the world that are still exempt from problems of loss of potential sources of freshwater supply, degraded water quality and pollution of surface and groundwater sources….” (The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2007). After reading the comforting manner in which Agenda 21 addresses the coming water crisis, we should all be able to sleep soundly at night. Unfortunately, this does not prove to be the case when one considers what has happened to Bolivia ’s indigenous peoples’ access to fresh water.
Agenda21isEvilAgenda 21’s strategy for privatizing the world’s water is quite simple: The United Nations financial partner, the World Bank, and its associated set of central banks around the planet, cripples a nation’s economy, largely through the use of fiat currency and forced assumption of banker’s derivative debt. Subsequently, the World Bank attempts to resuscitate that nation’s economy through a series of regime saving loans. World Bank loans offer the hope of staving off massive human suffering resulting from a lack of basic necessities, staggering unemployment and all the other accompanying variables which could lead to a violent overthrow of a nation’s political power structure. However, the terms of a typical World Bank loan would make the most adept loan shark green with envy. Often, as a precondition to receiving the loan, the World Bank imposes some very draconian conditions, such as the privatization of the basic necessities of life (e.g. water) from which their corporate partners derive great economic benefit.
Nowhere has this scheme been played out more directly than in the late 1990’s and the early 2000’s in Bolivia . The first large scale, dry run of Agenda 21’s plan to privatize water, took place in Bolivia when someone at the World Bank flipped a switch and demanded the privatization of Bolivia ’s water supplies as a precondition for massive debt relief.
In 1995, the government of Bolivia owned nothing. However, Bolivia did owe the World Bank enormous sums of money. Like a heroin addict, the Bolivian government became dependent on its financial “drug dealer,” the World Bank. Predictably, repaying Bolivian debt, to the World Bank, was plunging the Bolivian people and its government into the abyss of abject poverty and despair (Watson, 2003).
In Cochabamba , Bolivia , a city of 800,000 people, the public water system of El Alto and its neighbor La Paz , the nation’s capital, was privatized in 1997. In a classic conflict of interest case, the private consortium that took control of the water, Aguas del Illimani, is a subsidiary of Bechtel, and a set of minority shareholders that includes, among others, an arm of the World Bank (Watson, 2003). Within weeks of taking over the city’s public water company, Bechtel hiked up rates by as much as 200%, far beyond what the city’s poor could afford to pay. The Bolivian poor, with a lack of access to clean water, have nearly one in ten children die before they reach the age of five. Adding insult to injury, families living in El Alto’s outskirts rely on well water in which community representatives say are contaminated with industrial waste (Watson, 2003).
When all legitimate avenues of securing fresh water were blocked by Bechtel, including the prohibition of collecting rain water in homemade pots and pans, the Bolivian people took to the streets and an ongoing pattern of street violence ensued until Bechtel exercised the better half of discretion and exited the country. Mark my words, when we do this in America, follow our coming contrived water shortage, Americans will be met with 44,000 drones and DARPA killer robots.
Bolivia’s past is America’s future. Why the American people have only heard a whimper about these corporate abuses at the hands of the San Francisco based Bechtel Corporation, the World Bank and the United Nations Agenda 21. In order to answer that question, one has to ask: Who is Bechtel owned by? Bechtel is a subsidiary of General Electric. General Electric owns NBC (Media Owners.com, 2005). Perhaps this is why the reporting of this tale of human abuse so sparsely reported in the United States .
How interconnected are the global corporations to the United States Government, the United Nations and Agenda 21? Consider the following list of Bechtel employees who have moved into major policy making positions both in the United States Government and the United Nations.
  • Bechtel’s CEO, Riley P. Bechtel, served on the President Bush’s (43) Export Council (4/24/03)
  • George Schultz. Shortly after assuming his new position in Bechtel, President Reagan recruited Schultz to Washington to serve as Secretary of State.
  • Reagan’s Secretary of Defense Caspar Weinburger was a former Bechtel general counsel.
  • W. K. Davis was a Bechtel vice-president for nuclear development before he was appointed as Reagan’s Deputy Secretary of Energy      and administrative head of the Atomic Energy Commission.
  • William Casey a former Bechtel consultant served in a number of government positions including chairman of the SEC under Nixon,      head of the Export-Import bank under President Ford, and director of the CIA under Reagan.
  • Richard Helm, who later became a ‘consultant’ to  Bechtel, had earlier been a CIA director under Nixon.
  • William Simon, Nixon’s Treasury secretary, was hired by Bechtel as a consultant.
  • Ross Connelly, CEO of Bechtel Energy Resources  Corporation (retired), was appointed by George W. Bush (41) in June of 2001 to the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC). The OPIC has  strong connections to the United Nations privatization projects.
  • Stew Burkhammer, a current Bechtel executive, is  presently a member of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s  (OSHA) Advisory Committee on Construction Safety and Health (Cooperative  Research, 2006).
  • Marie-Françoise of Bechtel (France), Conseiller d’Etat, From 1979 to 1980, she was Consultant of the United Nations Asian and Pacific Development Center (United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration, 2007)
  • The connections between these groups can be further exemplified by the following: United Resolution 1483 (UN Security Council, 2003), approved the occupation of Iraq by American and British forces, thus making Iraq into a de facto colony. As such, this opened door for a corporate feeding frenzy by companies such as Bechtel as they lined up to “repair” Iraq following Gulf War II. Subsequently, Bechtel received a $1.03 billion contract to oversee major reconstruction of Iraq ‘s water and sewage. In spite of Bechtel’s promises, Iraqi families continue to lack access to clean water. The company made providing Southern Iraq ’s potable water one of its top priorities in which Bechtel promised delivery within 60 days following the commencement of the project. Within a year, Iraqi people still were suffering through epidemics of water-borne illnesses (e.g., cholera, kidney stones and diarrhea). Bechtel failed to live up to its word, but they did make a lot of money (Weston, 2003). And some people think that the United Nations is merely a benign and benevolent organization which is essentially neutral on all areas of politics and finance. Today, the stock holders of Bechtel have the United Nations to thank, in large part, for that extra vacation, their kid’s braces and the addition to their homes.
  • Bechtel is a major player in the evolving struggle to control the world’s future water supply. Bechtel and its peers have quietly been securing the rights to control the production and distribution of this essential resource and fully intend to make huge profits in the future when, as experts predict, water becomes a significantly scarce ‘commodity (Watson, 2003). As a footnote, in the face of 52 civilian deaths of Bechtel personnel, at the hands of insurgent terrorists, Bechtel did not withdraw from Southern Iraq . However, when its infrastructure projects came under fire from the insurgents, costing the corporation millions of dollars, Bechtel ceased operations in Southern Iraq . By the way, it was Bechtel which sold Saddam its chemical stockpile of weapons in his 1980’s war with Iran . This was followed by invading Iraq because it possessed weapons of mass destruction. I also found it interesting that Hillary Clinton was on the Board of Directors for Bechtel at the time of the sale of the weapons of mass destruction to Iraq (August 6th Coalition, 2006). Before the fall of the Shah of Iran, under President Jimmy Carter, Bechtel was contracted to build Iran ’s first nuclear power plant. As was the case with Saddam Hussein, Iran ’s government is still standing in the way of unfettered investment by the global corporations. Iran , the only Middle Eastern oil-rich country which will not likely capitulate to President Bush’s plans for a Middle East Free Trade Area, is now being threatened by the United States military, And remember, free trade is the one of the cornerstones of the UN’s Agenda 21. This makes one wonder who former President Bush really worked for.
  • I could have chosen any number of global corporations (e.g., Monsanto, Halliburton, etc.) to illustrate this abuse of humanity. The Bechtel Corporation is but one small corporate example of this disturbing trend.
  • In the era of globalization, flying under the banner of Agenda 21’s policy of “global sustainability,” transnational corporations circle the globe looking for opportunities for profit, putting people’s livelihoods, survival and the environment at risk. Too often the global corporations victimize unsuspecting and impoverished people who can least afford to absorb the brunt of these profit generating schemes. These actions severely undermine national sovereignty and individual determinism. However, this process is not inevitable; or infallible, successful resistance is possible. However the clock is ticking and time is quickly running out.
  • Do we think that this only happening in Bolivia? Similar projects are underway in Manilla, Pakistan and San Francisco. Yes, this is correct; Bechtel now has a contract with San Francisco ’s city government to upgrade the city’s water system. Bechtel employees are working side by side with city workers in a privatization move that people-in-the-know fear will lead to an eventual take-over of San Francisco ’s water system and create a fiasco similar to the one in Bolivia (Chatterjee, 2000). The wolf is at the door.
  • As the Roman Empire declined in influence and power, Feudalism replaced the nation-state government. The feudal lord was one of the few employers in the fourth and the fifth centuries. The feudal lords owned most of the land and nearly all the resources. Today, the specter of feudalism has shape-shifted into a global corporatocracy headed by the United Nations and Agenda 21. The global corporations are constructing this brand of neo-feudalism right before our eyes. Unfortunately, the people (i.e., Americans) who still have the power to stop it seem to possess the same vision-impairing flavor of glaucoma and refuse to see what is really happening. This is the same Agenda 21 plan which wants to use the power of behemoth banks and corporations, under the guise of United Nations sustainability rhetoric, in order to blackmail nations into allowing companies like Bechtel to assess a surcharge upon poor people and their at-risk children for daring to collect the rain water in homemade pots and pans. In the early part of this decade, Bolivians were asking each other, “have you seen the rain” in their unending search for fresh water.
  • Much like a teenager being lured into financial devastation by being enticed to own their first credit card, national governments cannot resist the addiction of seemingly infinite credit which is made available through the use of unsecured, fiat currency. Through the reckless spending of various governmental entities, tremendous debt is created. As the debt reaches critical levels and financial catastrophe looms, the World Bank rides in on its black horse and offers a nation financial salvation. However, that financial salvation comes at a steep cost which usually includes the selling their national soul to the devil. All too frequently, this “salvation” involves the imposition of the political and financial agenda of the United Nations and its partner, the World Bank. And with an Obama QE4 looming on the other side of the fiscal cliff, America is close to being the next Bolivia.
How long will it be until America becomes the next Bolivia ?  With regard to Agenda 21, this is only the tip of the iceberg. When this country is bankrupted by the bankers, America will be leveraged into seeking water in foreign countries and we will be all to happy to invade countries that plenty of the resource that we no longer have.
As the reader will discover in the second part of this series, the reader will discover that we don’t just have to worry about a banker takeover of our water assets. we are being invaded from within.  George H. W. Bush and T. Boone Pickens are buying up major water sources inside of our country as America is about to get hit on two fronts. I can see no other purpose behind this madness except that our military will be leveraged to invade, yet another set of countries.

Will The Peak Of The Solar Cycle In 2013 Produce Technology Crippling Solar Super Storms?

Will The Peak Of The Solar Cycle In 2013 Produce Technology Crippling Solar Super Storms?

Our sun is becoming increasingly unstable, and most people have no idea the complete and utter devastation that a massive solar storm could potentially cause.  A giant solar storm could potentially take out satellites, GPS systems, electrical grids, communication networks and pretty much anything else that runs on electricity or that relies upon electronics.  And considering how dependent our society has become on technology, we are talking about an event that could possibly bring about the end of the world as we know it.  Right now, solar activity is increasing as we approach the peak of Solar Cycle 24.  But the worst is yet to come.  Scientists are expecting a significant increase in coronal mass ejections and geomagnetic disturbances as we approach the peak of this solar cycle in 2013.  A number of scientists are warning that there is a chance that we could even see an event similar to the solar storm of 1859 that fried telegraph machines all over Europe and North America.  Other scientists are warning that our sun is starting to behave so unusually that it is becoming very difficult to predict what may be coming next.  If our sun starts to behave even more erratically, that could mean big trouble for all of us.  If our sun fails, there is no backup plan.  We only have one sun.  Most of us take the stability of the gigantic ball of fire that our very small planet is circling for granted, but what if it becomes apparent that we can’t take that for granted any longer?  That can be very frightening to think about.
Just a few years ago, there was very little activity on the sun.  Normally, activity on the sun does slow down during non-peak times, but the years of 2008 and 2009 were unusually slow.  At the time, David Hathaway of NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center said that we were “witnessing something unlike anything we’ve seen in 100 years“.
But now solar activity is becoming dangerously intense as we approach the peak of the solar cycle in 2013.  One group of sunspots was measured to be 118,681 miles wide earlier this year.  According to NASA, that would be “more than 15 Earths set end to end“.
But what we have seen this year is only the beginning.  Scientists expect solar activity to really kick into high gear once we get into 2013.  Just check out what Dr. Matthew Penn of the National Solar Observatory in Arizona said earlier this year
“Because the sun is becoming more active, it will have an impact on millions of people. Sunspots can cause the biggest and most damaging space storms that occur.
During the next two years, we are expecting the number of sunspots visible on the sun to reach a maximum. We know that sunspots are the source of a lot of space weather and solar storms, so we expect a larger number of solar storms here at the Earth.”
Solar activity runs in cycles, and some scientists are concerned that since solar activity got so quiet back in 2008 and 2009 that it might mean that the coming solar peak might be particularly intense.
The shift in solar activity that we have witnessed over the last couple of years has definitely been dramatic.  Back in 2009, there were 260 days without any sunspots.  In 2012, there have been zero days without any sunspots.
The following chart from spaceweather.com shows the number of days without any sunspots that we have seen since 2009…
2012 total: 0 days (0%)
2011 total: 2 days (<1%)
2010 total: 51 days (14%)
2009 total: 260 days (71%)
But it isn’t just that we are seeing a lot of sunspots.  We are also seeing some truly breathtaking explosions on the sun.  Just check out this example from earlier this month
A truly gigantic explosion happened on the sun yesterday. On Nov. 16th, magnetic fields snaking halfway across the sun’s southern hemisphere erupted in tandem, producing a prominence so big, it doesn’t fit inside this image from NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO): “The red-glowing looped material is plasma, a hot gas made of electrically charged hydrogen and helium,” officials with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, which oversees the SDO mission, explained in a description. “The prominence plasma flows along a tangled and twisted structure of magnetic fields generated by the sun’s internal dynamo. An erupting prominence occurs when such a structure becomes unstable and bursts outward, releasing the plasma.” The blast hurled a CME into space, but the cloud does not appear to be heading for Earth.
If our sun becomes even more unstable, that could dramatically affect the lives of every man, woman and child living on the planet.
The number one thing that causes changes in our weather patterns is the sun, and the United States is just coming out of one of the worst summers of drought in U.S. history.
If solar instability plays havoc with our weather patterns and we see dramatic crop failures all over the globe, what would that do to our ability to feed ourselves?
And if people cannot feed themselves, would that cause societal instability all over the planet?
Perhaps an even greater concern is what would happen if a giant solar super storm caused a massive EMP burst took out our electrical grids.
Remember, we have seen such an event before in 1859.  Many scientists warn that if a similar event happened today that it would be absolutely catastrophic.
Even a relatively minor event could have devastating consequences for our very vulnerable communications systems.  The following is from a National Geographic article
Of particular concern are disruptions to global positioning systems (GPS), which have become ubiquitous in cell phones, airplanes, and automobiles, Baker said. A $13 billion business in 2003, the GPS industry is predicted to grow to nearly $1 trillion by 2017.
In addition, Baker said, satellite communications—also essential to many daily activities—would be at risk from solar storms.
“Every time you purchase a gallon of gas with your credit card, that’s a satellite transaction,” he said.
But the big fear is what might happen to the electrical grid, since power surges caused by solar particles could blow out giant transformers. Such transformers can take a long time to replace, especially if hundreds are destroyed at once, said Baker, who is a co-author of a National Research Council report on solar-storm risks.
The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory’s Cliver agrees: “They don’t have a lot of these on the shelf,” he said.
If a very large EMP burst did take out our electrical grids, it would be a natural disaster unprecedented in U.S. history and it would potentially take many years to recover from such an event.  The following is from a recent New York Times article
A powerful solar (or “geomagnetic”) storm has the potential to simultaneously damage multiple transformers in the electricity grid and perhaps even bring down large sections of it, affecting upwards of a hundred million people in the United States for many months, if not years.
These huge transformers are expensive and difficult to replace, and not many are stockpiled in the United States for an emergency. In the worst case, the impact would be devastating: An outage could cost a few trillion dollars, with full recovery taking years. Not only would parts of the grid be compromised, but telephone networks, undersea cables, satellites and railroads also would be affected.
A 2008 National Academy of Sciences study warned that “because of the interconnectedness of critical infrastructures in modern society,” the “collateral effects of a longer-term outage” would likely include “disruption of the transportation, communication, banking and finance systems, and government services; the breakdown of the distribution of potable water owing to pump failure; and the loss of perishable foods and medications because of lack of refrigeration.”
Solar storms are just like regular storms – they can range from the totally harmless to the totally catastrophic.
But if we did experience a totally catastrophic solar storm, what would that mean for all of us?
In a previous article, I asked some questions that most people have not considered…
What would you do if an EMP attack happened in the middle of the winter and you suddenly were not able to heat your home any longer?
What would you do if all the electronics in your car got fried and you simply could not drive anywhere?
What would you do if all the supermarkets in your area shut down because food could not be transported across the country anymore?
What would you do if you were suddenly unable to call your family and friends for help?
What would you do if you were suddenly unable to get the medicine that you needed?
What would you do if your debit cards and credit cards simply did not work any longer and you could not get any of your money out of the bank?
What would you do if all of these things happened all at once?
Most people just assume that nothing like this will ever happen.
But what if it did?
Would your family be prepared?
Over the next couple of years, conditions are going to be ideal for solar super storms to develop which could potentially change life as we know it in a single day.
So keep an eye on news reports about the sun.
Hopefully nothing will happen.
But if something does happen, those that have made preparations in advance will be in the best position to survive the aftermath.

MK Culture

I'm losing my edge.

A week has gone by and I'm still struggling to put fingers to keys concerning one of the most bizarre shooting sprees in this nation's recent history. Given the type of topics this blog normally deals with this is surely a fitting topic, one that may actually provide whatever readers we have with some insight on a current event rather than more obscure historical details.

But alas, I can't shake a certain unease whenever I consider the plight of one Jared Lee Loughner. Perhaps its just the name, but I feel as though I'm being laughed at even as I dive head long into this absurdity.

So, where to begin? Synchronicity oozes from every orifice of this incident, so the beginning isn't nearly as important as addressing as many of the details as possible. I will surely miss some as this event seems to reinvent itself daily, but I shall try.

For starters, the shooting occurred in Tucson, AZ. Tucson resides along the 32 north latitude. Many of the holy sites of the ancient Mideast and Mediterranean were built between between 31 N and 39 N latitude. In the United States countless bizarre Native America sites have been found along these latitudes as well. In Freemasonry the 32nd degree, known as the Sublime Prince of the Royal Secret, is the second highest behind only the honorary 33rd. Much tragedy has happened in this nation, as well as the world, along the 33rd north latitude. More on the 33rd can be read here. 32 reversed is 23, which also plays into Robert Anton Wilson's whole  '17 23 phenomenon.' More on this topic can be read here.

The city of Tucson has its own bizarre history, especially in regards to a series of artifacts unearthed nearby. Fortean researcher William Grimstad notes:

"At a place called Nine Mile Waterhole (6.5 mi. NW of Tucson on Silverbell Rd.) Charles E. Manier found a large lead cross while knocking about one day in 1924. The cross was buried in an embankment where the roadway had been cut through. Nearby were five large cylindrical brick ruins, of unknown age and reminiscent of the five 'beehive' kilns at the Silver Bell Mine near Florence, Arizona. A further coincidence is the Silverbell name of the road running through this bluff on the west side of the Santa Cruz River. It was here that 30 of the most peculiar archaeological objects ever found in North America were dug up.

"The first, cross-shaped item had two halves bound together with rivets. When separated, they were found to be covered with dense lines of inscriptions, primarily in Latin but of an oddly confused style and with a smattering of Hebrew characters. There were also numerous religious and mystical symbols, among them the square and compass and other emblems of Freemasonry. One cross has nothing but a line drawing of what can only be a dinosaur. In fact, most of the objects are of a decidedly bizarre character, with much more of the flavor of certain arcane cults of the Near East than of any sort of mainstream Roman culture.

"This is particularly true of one of the lead crosses, which has a long snake coiled around it, an arrow-point top, and a number of engraved Hebrew letters and indecipherable symbols. That such an artifact would have been made by ordinary Romans seems highly doubtful. Of course, in another sense this sheer uncouthness is a strong point in favor of authenticity: The unusual combination of Hebraic-Latin-esoteric elements hardly seems like one that would occur to the teen-aged boy of Mexican-Catholic culture who some archaeologists claim was the 'forger' and deep-burier of the artifacts."
(Weird America, pg. 13)

The victims of the shooting spree totaled six. In Pythagorean mathematics the six, or hexad, represented the creation of the world. The hexad was sacred to Orpheus as well as the Fate, Lachesis, and the Muse, Thalia. The hexad was also the symbol of marriage.

"Among the Greeks, harmony and the soul were considered to be similar in nature, because all souls are harmonic. The hexad is also the symbol of marriage, because it is formed by the union of two triangles, one masculine and the other feminine. Among the keywords given to the hexad are: time, for it is the measure of duration; panacea, because health is equilibrium, and the hexad is a balance number; the world, because the world, like the hexad, is often seen to consist of contraries by harmony; omnisufficient, because its parts are sufficient for totality (3+2+1=6); unwearied, because it contains the elements of immortality.
(The Secret Teachings of All Ages, Manly P Hall, pg. 219)
Probably the most tragic victim of the shooting spree was Christina Taylor Green, a nine year old who was born on 9/11/01, and died in the eleventh year of the 21st century hours before the ninth day of the new year. Loughner himself was 22 at the time of the shooting, double 11.

Christina also has in her name a Christ, a Green, and a Taylor, which is close to Tyler. In Masonic jargon a Tyler is someone appointed to guard the lodges. The Egyptian god Osiris, who shared characteristics with Christ, was also referred to as the Green Man.

The most famous almost victim is obviously Representative Gabrielle Giffords, the first Jewish Representative from the state of Arizona. This is an especially odd synchronicity when considering the bizarre artifacts that were unearthed near Tucson that possibly bore Hebrew letters. Loughner himself has been accused of both rampant anti-Semetism (one of his favorite books was allegedly Mein Kampf) as well as being of Jewish decent himself. There's even an Internet rumor that the Loughner family attended the same synagogue as the Giffords.

One of the strangest aspects of Loughner is the skull shrine found in his backyard:

"A sinister shrine reveals a chilling occult dimension in the mind of the deranged gunman accused of shooting a member of Congress and 19 others.

"Hidden within a camouflage tent behind Jared Lee Loughner's home sits an alarming altar with a skull sitting atop a pot filled with shriveled oranges.

"A row of ceremonial candles and a bag of potting soil lay nearby, photos reveal.

"Experts on Sunday said the elements are featured in the ceremonies of a number of occult groups."

Skull cults are in fact among the earliest and most primitive forms of religion.

"We have already viewed the earliest unmistakable archaeological evidence of man's religious thought, in the burials and bear sanctuaries of Homo neanderthalensis. We now add, to complete the picture, the observation that a number of the Neanderthal skulls found at Krapina and Ehringsdorf provide evidence also of his ritual cannibalism. They had been opened in a certain interesting way. Furthermore, every one of the unearthed skulls of Neanderthal's Javanese contemporary Solo Man (Ngangdong Man), had also been opened. And finally, when skulls opened by the modern headhunters of Borneo for the purpose of lapping up the brains are compared with those of Solo and Neanderthal -the skull having served, handily, as the bowls for their own contents -they are found to have been opened in precisely the same way."
(The Masks of God: Primitive Mythology, Joseph Campbell, pg. 373)
"...a particular stress is given in these secret men's societies to a skull cult that is often associated with the headhunt. Ritual cannibalism and pederasty are commonly practiced, and there is a highly elaborated use made of symbolic drums and mask."
(ibid, pg. 321)

Finally I would like to point out Loughner's striking appearance at the time of his arrest in which his head was entirely shaved of hair. He looked remarkably like a series of mysterious reoccurring characters on the TV series Fringe referred to as 'Observers.' These Observers dress like Men in Black and seem to fulfil a similar mythology on the series. 'Real life' men in black are often described as dark skinned or 'foreign' yet the series retained the bizarre behavior often associated with the MIB. Further, both real life Men in Black as well as the Fringe Observers seem to fulfil the role of the Trickster. This is also a role Loughner may be quite apt for.

Readers of this blog are certainly aware that I am a believer in MK-Ultra, and the so called 'Manchurian Canidate' premise. Some of these views are outlined in this piece. By all accounts Jared Lee Loughner fits the profile of an MK victim to a T -the bizarre and unstable behavior leading up to the shooting that was largely ignored by authority figures, his library collection, a criminal history, possible links to Gifford, etc. He even initially sported the three word name in the press, ala Mark David Chapman, Lee Harvey Oswald, James Earl Ray, etc.

Yet nothing so far seems to stand out as firm ties to MK programming. For instance, in the case of the bizarre murder involving actor Michael Breas, which I chronicled here, there was at least a tie to an occult organization. I've yet to see firm documentation of this for Loughner. His backyard rituals, which seem rather amateurish, appear to be something he devised on his own, likely with the aid of the Internet.

Loughner tried to join the Army, but was rejected. He had a criminal background, but didn't seem to have experienced much exposure to the legal system -he wasn't incarcerated or institutionalized, but was subjected to a diversion program. The diversion program is seemingly the only institution I can see of where he may have been programmed, but it doesn't seem like a likely candidate.

Yet the signs are all there.

So I must wonder, is there something else at work? As this blog has addressed before, much of the CIA and DoD mind control experiments had precedence before in alchemy, the occult, the Mystery Schools, etc. Historian Peter Levenda notes:

"All of these techniques -hallucinogenic drugs, hypnosis, acts of terrorism, disinformation -share an ontological purpose: to manipulate perceptions, to re-create reality... As the men of the OSS, CIA, and military intelligence developed from armchair scholars and academics that most of them were before the war years into soldiers fighting the Cold War on fronts all over the world, they became -in a very real sense -magicians... the CIA mind control projects themselves represented an assault on consciousness and reality that has not been seen in history since the age of the philosopher-kings and their court alchemists."
(Sinister Forces, pg. 144)

The great difference (at least publicly) between today's CIA man and yesterday's magician is the view of the paranormal. Contrary to popular belief a true magician employed all of the tools of an intelligence officer -entheogens, hypnosis, terrorism, disinformation, spying, etc. But he also firmly believed in the supernatural as part of his bag of tricks. And the beings that sought out the great magicians of yore were certainly Tricksters indeed. For this reason Hermes is the patron of the Mystery Schools.

"Like Coyote, Raven, and Hare -those North American Indian clowns-cum-culture-heroes -Hermes is a Trickster. It is as difficult for us to countenance Trickster as it is daimons: our monotheism, whether of Christianity or Science, has excluded them. So Hermes is forced to operate from the Underworld, to shadow Christianity in esoteric, 'occult' Gnostic and Hermetic philosophies. As his Latin counterpart, Mercurius, he is the soul of alchemy. He returns to torment scientism with paranormal phenomena and maddening anomalies -all daimons are tricksters, as the fairies are; all are in the pay of Hermes-Mercurius. He unsettles our lives with all manner of impish tricks and pixilations; the more we ignore him, the more he bedevils us, until his tricks begin to look sinister. He becomes, in fact, the Devil."
(Daimonic Reality, Patrick Harpur, pg. 166-167)

While Loughner may not have had any contact with actual intelligence spooks his history of psychedelic drug use makes it extremely likely that he contacted the Trickster or the like at some point in recent years. For more on the links between entheogens, UFOs, elementals, MIBs, etc, check here.

This article is not the place to discuss whether these beings exist, what thy are, or where they come from. In fact, there's not much else I can add to this piece, except an observation. That is concerning the remarkable effectiveness of this 'MK-Culture' that has transformed our reality so much over the past 60 years. For these types of incidents to have occurred in the past they would have required actual programming. But now the programming has gone mainstream. For instance, both drug use and childhood sexual trauma were used even amongst the secret societies of tribal cultures as part of the initiation rites. Now the common American teen experiences these kinds of rites as part of the stereotypical high school experience without any of the spiritual or philosophical training tribal societies, the Mystery Schools, and the like, provided.

Thus they are totally at the mercy of the Trickster.
