ELECTRIC FUNERAL TO AMERICA

During the Cold War, the U.S. and the Soviet Union relied on a strategy that used to be termed, “mutual assured destruction.” It was the idea that in order to hold off a nuclear planetary holocaust there would always be threat that one would happen. It was a way to hold the entire Earth hostage with their massive nuclear arsenals. We were told that each superpower had safely stashed away enough nuclear power to absorb a “first strike.”
‘Safely’ was a relative term as we all knew that tens of millions of citizens would be dead, wounded or irradiated to the point of a slow and painful death.
Operation Dominic was a series of 31 nuclear test explosions with a 38.1 Megaton total yield conducted in 1962 by the United States in the Pacific. This test series was scheduled quickly, in order to respond in kind to the Soviet resumption of testing after the agreed upon 1958-1961 test moratorium.
Most of these shots were conducted with free-fall bombs dropped from B-52 bomber aircraft. Twenty of these shots were to test new weapons designs; six to test weapons effects; and several shots to confirm the reliability of existing weapons. The Thor missile was also used to lift warheads into near-space to conduct high altitude nuclear explosion tests; these shots were collectively called Operation Fishbowl.

Operation Dominic occurred during a period of high Cold War tension between the United States and the Soviet Union, since the Cuban Bay of Pigs Invasion had occurred not long before. Nikita Khrushchev announced the end of a three-year moratorium on nuclear testing on August 30, 1961, and Soviet tests recommenced on September 1st, initiating a series of tests that included the detonation of Tsar Bomba.
President John F. Kennedy responded by authorizing Operation Dominic. It was the largest nuclear weapons testing program ever conducted by the United States, and the last atmospheric test series conducted by the U.S., as the Limited Test Ban Treaty was signed in Moscow the following year.
During Operation Dominic, we learned that when a multi-megaton-yield anti-ballistic-missile nuke warhead is detonated at the very high altitudes where incoming Soviet nuke warheads would be intercepted, in addition to destroying the incoming Soviet warhead, our ABM nuke’s enhanced radiation also produces extreme charge separation in the underlying atmosphere.
That is, the atoms in the air are not merely ionized but are separated into positively-charged ions and negatively-charged electrons. An infinite amount of those ionization electrons are driven far away from the ions, creating a mountain of high-frequency dipole radio transmitters.
The result was a multi-frequency electromagnetic pulse or an EMP.
The United States discovered that this pulse from a nuclear warhead far above us can interfere catastrophically with the operation of certain kinds of electrical and electronic systems at considerable distances. That first high-altitude megaton-yield nuke test over Johnson Island resulted in power system failures in Hawaii, more than 700 miles away.
Once the EMP effect was discovered, we did two things. One was to spend a billions of dollars EMP-proofing all military electrical and electronic components and weapons systems.
The second was to see if specially designed nukes of much lower yield could produce EMP as the primary “kill mechanism.”
According to the Commission, China and Russia have done the same. In fact, in May 1999, during the NATO bombing of the former Yugoslavia, high-ranking members of the Russian Duma, meeting with a U.S. congressional delegation to discuss the Balkans conflict, reportedly raised the specter of a Russian EMP attack that would paralyze the United States.
The Commission concluded that such an attack would be considered non lethal, however in and of, itself an EMP “has the potential to hold our society at risk and might result in defeat of our military forces.”

Nuclear missiles, when detonated anywhere from a quarter of a mile to 300 miles in the sky, can create an electromagnetic pulse capable of wiping out power grids.
When the Soviet Union fell, the nuclear weapons disappeared and yet they went nowhere. It was merely a “feel good” move to realize that the godless communists had fell and that both the United States and Russia would cooperate in providing a safe world for everyone.
But with all of the lying with regard to our nuclear age, perhaps we all had to feel like we could fake it and pretend that a cold war could be warmed with understanding. However it seemed the warmth has been stifled with pure and exhausting ignorance about such matters as safe foreign policy with Russia.
Russia and the United States have had their bit of saber rattling with regard to the situation in Crimean Peninsula and all matters of destabilization of Ukraine. The mainstream has moved on to political rock star reporting and has virtually ignored the dangers and the unfinished business that is the United States and their failed diplomatic relations.
At the moment we are currently aware that Iran’s current missile technology cannot safely handle a real nuclear weapon of the size of which could do damage to its neighbors or the United States. However we are fully aware that they are capable of building and may well already have in their possession a device capable of generating an EMP.
This is why Iran has partnered with North Korea in joint Nuclear Weapons Development and miniaturization and also a joint effort to develop their ballistic missile program. It’s all about Bigger, Better, Faster, and more lifting capacity for them at this point.
On February 3rd, 2010 Iran announced that they were entering into the space race. A little late of course and a great cover for their rocket capabilities. On the Anniversary of the Islamic revolution February 11th, 2010, Iranian Leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced to the world that their advances in rocketry would “deliver a telling blow to global powers.”
MahmoudAhmadinejad-
When Iran fired a missile into space 5 years ago, the event took on a surreal religious tone. The leaders prepared the rocket. Before it was fired into space the words Allah Akbar were being chanted by onlookers.
Afterwards, a scientist kissed the Koran and placed it at the foot of a large rocket motor called the “Simurgh.” The rocket is named after a bird that is similar to the Phoenix or “firebird.” The symbolism is terrifying because of what the Phoenix represents. The DEATH and REBIRTH by FIRE! Iranian legends consider the bird so old that it has seen the destruction of the world three times over.
The event reminded me of a scene from Beneath the Planet of the apes where “The Brotherhood of the Holy Fallout” kneeled and prayed before the Alpha-Omega Doomsday Bomb.
Now, anytime we see news reports of the so called Iranian Nuclear deal we are often treated to chants of “Death to America” by angry Iranians, and of course their leaders do nothing to stop the breeding hatred of both the United States and Israel.
Iran’s development of a nuclear weapon that complies with Islamic law should be grounds enough for Congress to kill the agreement between Iran and the West, since just a “Shariah compliant” bomb could “threaten the existence of the United States.”
We know that Iran is not capable of delivering a major nuclear payload anywhere at the moment, but they have had the ability to develop a low yield device that could be detonated above a U.S. City. The resulting detonation would not only bring some “death to America in some regions, but would also create an “Electric Funeral” that would kill the power grid and render us into a preindustrial state.
The proposed agreement with Iran would not prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear device that it could detonate at high altitudes over the U.S. to create an electromagnetic pulse that would destroy the nation’s critical infrastructure.
James Woolsey, former director of the Central Intelligence Agency, and Peter Vincent Pry, executive director of the EMP Task Force on National and Homeland Security, Told the Washington Times that Iran could obtain such a device relatively easily “by cheating in the use of the nuclear infrastructure permitted them under the agreement.”
Because an EMP destroys electronics directly but people indirectly, it is regarded by some Muslim scholars as a “Shariah compliant” use of a nuclear weapon,” Woolsey and Pry reported.
The congressional EMP commission, the House Armed Services Committee and the Central Intelligence Agency have warned officials that U.S. intelligence cannot meet the impossibly high standard of assuring that Iran cannot acquire a single nuclear weapon and, given the regime’s nuclear infrastructure, cannot with absolute certainty guarantee that Iran does not already have one.”
This is all contrary to the assertions of Secretary of State John Kerry.
Secretary of State John Kerry’s assertions on June 16 that the United States has perfect intelligence on Iran’s nuclear program are not credible.
fd9d8f7b875e3e17570f6a7067000663
Kerry has stated: “We know what they did. We have no doubt. We have absolute knowledge.”
The CIA and other alphabet agencies have stated that Iran was an incredibly hard intelligence target meaning it was difficult to get any credible information out of the area.
They complain that Kerry’s disregard of the limits of U.S. intelligence is reason enough to reject the nuclear deal proposed by the Obama administration, since just one small nuclear warhead can threaten the existence of the United States.
The official Iranian military textbook advocates a revolutionary new way of warfare that combines coordinated attacks by nuclear and non-nuclear EMP weapons, physical and cyber-attacks against electric grids to black out and collapse entire nations.
Iranian military doctrine makes no distinction between nuclear EMP weapons, non-nuclear radio-frequency weapons and cyber-operations it regards a nuclear EMP attack as the ultimate cyber-weapon.
EMP is most effective at blacking-out critical infrastructures, while it also does not directly damage the environment or harm human life, according to Iran’s “Passive Defense”:
“Passive Defense” and other Iranian military writings are well aware that nuclear EMP attack is the most efficient way of killing people, through secondary effects, over the long run. The rationale appears to be that people starve to death, not because of EMP but because they live in materialistic societies dependent upon modern technology.
For example, an Iranian article on nuclear EMP attack, “Electronics to Determine Fate of Future Wars” published in 1998, concludes hopefully from the Iranian author’s perspective:
“If the world’s industrial countries fail to devise effective ways to defend themselves against dangerous electronic assaults, then they will disintegrate within a few years. American soldiers would not be able to find food to eat nor would they be able to fire a single shot.
The Washington Times reports that the Congressional EMP Commission found that Iran has practiced launching missiles and fusing warheads for high-altitude EMP attack, including off a freighter. Iran has apparently practiced surprise EMP attacks, orbiting satellites on south polar trajectories to evade U.S. radars and missile defenses, at altitudes consistent with generating an EMP field covering all 48 contiguous United States. Iran launched its fourth satellite on such a trajectory as recently as February 2015.
A single nuclear weapon would complete the list of requirements.
Finally, because a nuclear EMP attack can be conducted by surprise and anonymously deterrence may not work against EMP.
Deterrence depends upon knowing who attacked and being able to retaliate. Unlike a nuclear weapon used to blast a city, high-altitude EMP leaves no collectible bomb debris for forensic analysis to identify the aggressor.
EMP attack by missile or balloon launched off a freighter could be from many possible actors. Even Yemen’s Houthis have Scud missiles and know how to use them, having recently killed the chief of Saudi Arabia’s air force with a Scud strike on King Khalid Air Force Base.
Hundreds of satellites are in low earth orbit, unseen when approaching the United States from the south that could help disguise the origins of an EMP attack. And the EMP could damage the means necessary to identify the attacker and U.S. retaliatory capabilities.
Iran’s ally North Korea also has the capability to deliver on its threats to carry out a nuclear electromagnetic pulse attack on the United States. Any rocket from North Korea is likely to travel over the South Pole and approach from the south – something American missile defenses would apparently be powerless to stop.
Tensions between North and South Korea have now been rekindled.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un declared his front-line troops in a “quasi-state of war” and ordered them to prepare for battle a day after the most serious confrontation between the rivals in years.
Kim-Jong-un-517105 (1)
South Korea’s military fired dozens of artillery rounds across the border in response to what Seoul said were North Korean artillery strikes meant to back up a threat to attack loudspeakers broadcasting anti-Pyongyang propaganda.
The spike in tensions prompted the U.S. and South Korea to briefly halt an annual military exercise that began this week.
North Korea had criticized the drills, calling them a preparation for invasion, although the U.S. and South Korea insist they are defensive in nature.
The North’s declaration is similar to its other warlike rhetoric in recent years, including repeated threats to reduce Seoul to a “sea of fire,” and the huge numbers of soldiers and military equipment.
If China is dragged into this mess and the United States decides to play war, it would be a given that non lethal attacks like hypervelocity bundles and even EMP’s could be used to send a message.
When the words non lethal are used, they are merely stating that in the beginning there would be no mass casualties.
However, the EMP Commission, in 2008, estimated that within 12 months of a nationwide blackout, up to 90% of the U.S. population could possibly perish from starvation, disease and societal breakdown.
Americans love their creature comforts, their TV, internet and smart phones.
We take for granted that our food is available whenever we need it and refrigeration and elements to cook on are a necessity. Not to mention power for other things that keeps us alive. When comfort leaves, so does the sanity of the country. No power means “Death to America.” An EMP will seal the inevitability of an electric funeral.

Quantum Experiment Shows How “Time” Doesn’t Exist As We Think It Does (Mind-Altering)    ~hehe what IF every~thin

“We choose to examine a phenomenon which is impossible, absolutely impossible, to explain in any classical way, and which has in it the heart of quantum mechanics. In reality, it contains the only mystery.” Richard Feynman, a Nobel laureate of the twentieth century (Radin, Dean. Entangled Minds: Extrasensory Experiences In A Quantum Reality. New York, Paraview Pocket Books, 2006)
The concept of “time” is a weird one, and the world of quantum physics is even weirder. There is no shortage of observed phenomena which defy our understanding of logic, bringing into play thoughts, feelings, emotions – consciousness itself, and a post-materialist view of the universe. This fact is no better illustrated than by the classic double slit experiment, which has been used by physicists (repeatedly) to explore the role of consciousness and its role in shaping/affecting physical reality. (source) The dominant role of a physical material (Newtonian) universe was dropped the second quantum mechanics entered into the equation and shook up the very foundation of science, as it continues to do today.
“I regard consciousness as fundamental. I regard matter as derivative from consciousness. We cannot get behind consciousness. Everything that we talk about, everything that we regard as existing, postulating consciousness.”  –  Max Planck, theoretical physicist who originated quantum theory, which won him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1918
There is another groundbreaking, weird experiment that also has tremendous implications for understanding the nature of our reality, more specifically, the nature of what we call “time.”
It’s known as the “delayed-choice” experiment, or “quantum eraser,” and it can be considered a modified version of the double slit experiment.
To understand the delayed choice experiment, you have to understand the quantum double slit experiment.
In this experiment, tiny bits of matter (photons, electrons, or any atomic-sized object) are shot towards a screen that has two slits in it. On the other side of the screen, a high tech video camera records where each photon lands. When scientists close one slit, the camera will show us an expected pattern, as seen in the video below. But when both slits are opened, an “interference pattern” emerges – they begin to act like waves. This doesn’t mean that atomic objects are observed as a wave (even though it recently has been observed as a wave), they just act that way. It means that each photon individually goes through both slits at the same time and interferes with itself, but it also goes through one slit, and it goes through the other. Furthermore, it goes through neither of them. The single piece of matter becomes a “wave” of potentials, expressing itself in the form of multiple possibilities, and this is why we get the interference pattern.
How can a single piece of matter exist and express itself in multiple states, without any physical properties, until it is “measured” or “observed?” Furthermore, how does it choose which path, out of multiple possibilities, it will take?
Then, when an “observer” decides to measure and look at which slit the piece of matter goes through, the “wave” of potential paths collapses into one single path. The particle goes from becoming, again, a “wave” of potentials into one particle taking a single route. It’s as if the particle knows it’s being watched. The observer has some sort of effect on the behavior of the particle.
You can view a visual demonstration/explanation of the double slit experiment here.
This quantum uncertainty is defined as the ability, “according to the quantum mechanic laws that govern subatomic affairs, of a particle like an electron to exist in a murky state of possibility — to be anywhere, everywhere or nowhere at all — until clicked into substantiality by a laboratory detector or an eyeball.” (New York Times)
According to physicist Andrew Truscott, lead researcher from a study published by the Australian National University, the experiment suggests that “reality does not exist unless we are looking at it.” It suggests that we are living in a holographic-type of universe. (source)

Delayed Choice/Quantum Eraser/Time

So, how is all of this information relevant to the concept of time? Just as the double slit experiment illustrates how factors associated with consciousness collapse the quantum wave function (a piece of matter existing in multiple potential states) into a single piece of matter with defined physical properties (no longer a wave, all those potential states collapsed into one), the delayed choice experiment illustrates how what happens in the present can change what happens(ed) in the past. It also shows how time can go backwards, how cause and effect can be reversed, and how the future caused the past.
Like the quantum double slit experiment, the delayed choice/quantum eraser has been demonstrated and repeated time and time again. For example, Physicists at The Australian National University (ANU) have conducted John Wheeler’s delayed-choice thought experiment, the findings were recently published in the journal Nature Physics. (source)
In 2007 (Science 315, 966, 2007), scientists in France shot photons into an apparatus and showed that their actions could retroactively change something which had already happened.
“If we attempt to attribute an objective meaning to the quantum state of a single system, curious paradoxes appear: quantum effects mimic not only instantaneous action-at-a-distance, but also, as seen here, influence of future actions on past events, even after these events have been irrevocably recorded.” – Asher Peres, pioneer in quantum information theory (source)(source)(source)
The list literally goes on and on, and was first brought to the forefront by John Wheeler, in 1978, which is why I am going to end this article with his explanation of the delayed choice experiment. He believed that this experiment was best explained on a cosmic scale.

Cosmic Scale Explanation

He asks us to imagine a star emitting a photon billions of years ago, heading in the direction of planet Earth. In between, there is a galaxy. As a result of what’s known as “gravitational lensing,” the light will have to bend around the galaxy in order to reach Earth, so it has to take one of two paths, go left or go right. Billions of years later, if one decides to set up an apparatus to “catch” the photon, the resulting pattern would be (as explained above in the double slit experiment) an interference pattern. This demonstrates that the photon took one way, and it took the other way.
One could also choose to “peek” at the incoming photon, setting up a telescope on each side of the galaxy to determine which side the photon took to reach Earth. The very act of measuring or “watching” which way the photon comes in means it can only come in from one side. The pattern will no longer be an interference pattern representing multiple possiblities, but a single clump pattern showing “one” way.
What does this mean? It means how we choose to measure “now” affects what direction the photon took billions of years ago. Our choice in the present moment affected what had already happened in the past….
This makes absolutely no sense, which is a common phenomenon when it comes to quantum physics. Regardless of our ability make sense of it, it’s real.
This experiment also suggests that quantum entanglement (which has also been verified, read more about that here) exists regardless of time. Meaning two bits of matter can actually be entangled, again, in time.
Time as we measure it and know it, doesn’t really exist.

The Economic Elite Versus The People of the USA: In our Nation’s History, the Stakes have Never been Higher
By now it is nearly commonplace that the specific American system of capitalist governance has resulted in a hollowing-out of U.S. democracy, which now serves the interests of economic elites rather than the people. One of the primary examples of this is how the Obama administration is handling the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP): a top-secret process that will affect the lives of each individual living in the countries which agree to it, yet the negotiators are a few government officials (i.e. the Office of the United States Trade Representative) and 600 corporations, excluding Congress, and with no voice from or for the people themselves, nor any concern involving the citizens (see Paul Craig Roberts, “TTIP: The Corporate Empowerment Act”).
One of the sad but important consequences for our system of government, in the face of such a process, is that not only do the economic elites now control the system, but more importantly, our elitist-backed politicians have no vision beyond the self-interestedness of catering to the money the elites use to support them. The people are out; the future is irrelevant; the leaders are now co-participants in servicing an institution that lives by a single infallible rule: the degree to which they seek to increase their power is in direct proportion to their size. The result is that the U.S. government has now become an authoritarian state. It is the structure of the authoritarian state that requires as its sole mandate its ever-increasing power over its citizens, the very people it was originally designed to serve, with no limit to its ends or means. Thus, those who run for office from within the system all are necessarily supporters of this authoritarian-corporate-military-state, even if they advocate tinkering with its internal mechanisms a bit. A politician with a vision, and thus a true leader, will by necessity have to alienate themselves from the system, even if they attempt to function within it. Such is the intrinsic contradiction of the capitalist democracy we have today.
Related to that, the main method of consolidating power in a governing structure is to keep the masses in servitude to the corporate state and its interests. This is why such institutions are prone to ignore or reject the demands of justice. Thus, although it is fairly clear that nearly every person individually has a sense of ethical right and wrong, when politicians immerse themselves in a distinctly corporate-government institution and thus seek to ensure social structures and practices that do not engage primary ethical values such as equality or fairness—i.e. practices that are frequently directly inimical to their citizens—they surrender their ethics, sometimes consciously, sometimes not, in favor of taking on a public role as caretakers of their special-interest groups: the elites.
That is why true progressives understand that the voice of conscience, of value, of what is right (and wrong), must come from outside of the institutions. Even President Obama, a voice of the institution of capitalist government and its values par excellence, stated that change must come from outside of government. Voices that are raised from within are soon swallowed up in acquiescence to institutional demands or alienated from the culture of which they are a functioning agent (e.g. Edward Snowden). Socrates understood that fact long ago, when he said at his trial that agents of justice must operate from outside government institutions, or they would die young. Institutional acolytes simply do not concern themselves with issues of justice, fairness, or equity: only the appearance of being just counts, as Machiavelli observed in the 16thcentury. This idea was stated most succinctly by the classical defender of Realpolitik (i.e. politics is only about power), Hans Morgenthau, who argued that “loyalty to the nation requires the individual to disregard universal moral rules of conduct” (Politics Among Nations, Chapter XVI).
Another way to put the Socratic wisdom is this: if the normative standard one uses to assess institutional actions is objective (i.e. standards that apply to everyone for the prupose of fair and just governance), and if the choice one has to make is between being an agent of the institution or an advocate of justice, then one must stand outside of the institution and advocate justice. The choice has become an exclusive disjunction in our fading American democracy. It is what the participants of the Occupy Movement knew, and what many college students today intuitively know.
The mistake made by supporters of standard “insider” party politics is to believe that their candidate could be an “agent of change” in office. Obama, for example, never was—and never would be—such an agent, because he was a full participant in the capitalist-governmental institutional processes that brought him to power. So are most elected individuals on Capitol Hill today, Democrat or Republican. True rebels from within are rare, as we can see today: the Elizabeth Warrens, Bernie Sanders, and Alan Graysons compare with 532 other members of Congress.
The problems of creating change from within are illustrated by the Bernie Sanders candidacy for President. Mr. Sanders has some interesting ideas in his 12-point program (such as rebuilding our infrastructure, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, and raising the minimum wage, etc.), but in order to get them heard and get the support of the economic elite, he has had to co-opt with the corporate-based Democratic Party. This makes him susceptible to a move by front-runner Hilary Clinton to neutralize him by agreeing “in principle” with his ideas, and then changing the subject. If this happens, Sanders will be the proverbial “runner-up” in a party that became a corporation in its own right a long time ago.
Thus, the only solution is to create the change we seek for ourselves. But the key question now is: “How?”
First, we have to re-learn how to form alliances with other progressives in order to support visionaries running for office. Even if we do not agree with every position someone might take, if they have a progressive vision that is based on equality and fairness, we need to put aside any minor differences and support those visionaries, particularly if they have a track record of acting on the basis of their vision. That is something that many progressives have forgotten how to do, succumbing as they have to the myth of American capitalist individualism, and forgetting that change at this time in our political system will be incremental and slow, and not a quick revolution. But only by creating unified groups with unified goals can we the people once again become significant enough to replace the finance-government ministers with (small-d) democrats.
Second, engage in acts of civil disobedience and prepare for the consequences. For example, anti-war voices, no matter how loud and large in number, will never drown out the sound of cash-registers ringing for the military state agents who continue to make a financial killing by getting nations and peoples to kill each other. Just like the 1960’s civil rights struggles, the state will not hesitate to use its massive violent mechanisms of violence to put an end to counter-movements and dissent. Since the Patriot Act was put into play in 2001, all the government has to do is to brand civil disobedience as “terrorism,” and any act they take against dissent after that would be legally justified. Such is the state of the State we live under today. Further, with the critical importance of geo-political control and access to now limited natural resources such as water and oil that can be turned into a profit for the corporate elites that run the state, and with American political leaders drunk on the hubris that they can actually militarily govern the world, it is unlikely that we can expect much change to the institution unless this economic-military-government marriage is broken apart by a divorce.
Third, we need to think outside the current financial-governmental-military institutional complex to a new government order. But how far must we go, and in which direction? And what kind of system? One proposal for a first step toward a solution of the current governmental-financial institutional situation in America is that business ownership needs to change, and the workers need to become the owners of the places in which they work. Those in control of capital control the Capitol, and a new worker ownership movement, which could be done in conjunction with the “raise the minimum wage” movement, will go very far in creating the change that is past due to the current political system.
Finally, we need to increase our awareness of the populist rhetoric politicians use to jockey into positions of power. In this day and age, with politicians on both sides of the aisle using the motto “take back power” in order to secure their own interests in being added to the current power structure, we the people need to redefine what “take back power” means—i.e. to take money and governing power away from big business and thus reduce its powerful role in government by engaging in worker-owned business.
The vision we need from our leaders must be one of equity, fairness, and elimination of the current rule of the rich. Without such a unified vision, at least with these basic values, the institutional rule of ongoing power-consolidation and economic elite self-interest will continue unabated. Although true leaders are hard to find today within the system, it nonetheless remains true, as the Book of Proverbs said so long ago: “When there is no vision, the people perish.”

The Privatization of Water: Nestlé Pays Only $524 to Extract 27,000,000 Gallons of California Drinking Water

Region:
Nestle has found itself more and more frequently in the glare of the California drought-shame spotlight than it would arguably care to be — though not frequently enough, apparently, for the megacorporation to have spontaneously sprouted a conscience.
Drought-shaming worked sufficiently enough for Starbucks to stop bottling water in the now-arid state entirely, uprooting its operations all the way to Pennsylvania. But Nestle simply shrugged off public outrage and then upped the ante by increasing its draw from natural springs — most notoriously in the San Bernardino National Forest — with an absurdly expired permit.
Because profitof course. Or, perhaps more befittingly, theft. But you get the idea.
Nestle has somehow managed the most sweetheart of deals for its Arrowhead 100% Mountain Spring Water, which is ostensibly sourced from Arrowhead Springs — and which also happens to be located on public land in a national forest.
In 2013, the company drew 27 million gallons of water from 12 springs in Strawberry Canyon for the brand — apparently by employing rather impressive legerdemain — considering the permit to do so expired in 1988.
But, as Nestle will tell you, that really isn’t cause for concern since it swears it is a good steward of the land and, after all, that expired permit’s annual fee has been diligently and faithfully paid in full — all $524 of it.
And that isn’t the only water it collects. Another 51 million gallons ofgroundwater were drawn from the area by Nestle that same year.
There is another site the company drains for profit while California’s historic drought rages on: Deer Canyon. Last year, Nestle drew 76 million gallons from the springs in that location, which is a sizable increase over 2013’s 56 million-gallon draw — and under circumstances just as questionable as water collection at Arrowhead.
This extensive collection of water is undoubtedly having detrimental effects on the ecosystem and its numerous endangered and threatened species, though impact studies aren’t available because they were mysteriously stopped before ever getting underway.
In fact, the review process necessary to renew Nestle’s antiquated permit met a similarly enigmatic termination: once planning stages made apparent the hefty price tag and complicated steps said review would entail, the review was simply dropped. Completely. Without any new stipulations or stricter regulations added to the expired permit that Nestle was ostensibly following anyway — though, obviously, that remains an open question.
In 2014, Nestle used roughly 705 million gallons of water in its operations in California, according to natural resource manager Larry Lawrence. That’s2,164 acre-feet of water — enough to “irrigate 700 acres of farmland” or “fill 1,068 Olympic-sized swimming pools,” as Ian James pointed out in The Desert Sun.

Though there is no way to verify exactly how much Nestle must spend to produce a single bottle of Arrowhead spring water, the astronomical profit is undeniable fact: the most popular size of a bottle of Arrowhead 100% Mountain Spring Water (1 liter) retails for 89¢ — putting the potential profit for Nestle in the tens of billions.
Activists have called for a boycott of Nestle Waters and all Nestle products until they are held accountable for their actions in California.
There is much more to be revealed in future articles as the investigation into Nestle’s reckless profit-seeking during California’s unprecedented drought continues.

This is the second in our series of investigations into Nestle’s role in extracting massive amounts of groundwater in California during the record drought. The third in this series will delve further into Nestle’s corrupt business practices.

THE GMO SCRAPBOOK: RNA TARGETING PESTICIDES

Just when you thought it was no longer safe to trust the Congress not to pass the Mon(ster)santo Poisonous Food Pandering Protection Act, and no longer safe to eat anything The Powers That Be tell you is perfectly safe, things take yet another turn for the worse, as this article, shared by Mr. M.N., reveals:
New Monsanto Spray Kills Bugs by Messing With Their Genes
Now, this all sounds well and good, because the new pesticide is supposed to target specific insects and their specific genes; no need to worry about your vanishing honeybees (how many of those have you seen lately? I ask, because the other day I went outside, and saw my first bee in years). But I digress, for yes, the latest miracle from I.G. Farbensanto targets only the "bad" insects:
The novel sprays in question are powered by a genetic technology called RNA interference, which promises to kill specific insects and weeds by silencing genes crucial to their survival, while leaving nontarget species unscathed.
RNAi, as it's known, is an emerging science; the two US researchers who discovered it brought home a Nobel Prize in 2006. Regalado describes the process like this:
The cells of plants and animals carry their instructions in the form of DNA. To make a protein, the sequence of genetic letters in each gene gets copied into matching strands of RNA, which then float out of the nucleus to guide the protein-making machinery of the cell. RNA interference, or gene silencing, is a way to destroy specific RNA messages so that a particular protein is not made.
If you can nix RNA messages that exist to generate crucial genes, you've got yourself an effective bug or weed killer. And GMO seed and pesticide behemoth Monsanto thinks it has just that. Robb Fraley, the company's chief technology officer and a pioneer in creating GM seeds, told Regalado that within a few years, RNA sprays would "open up a whole new way to use biotechnology" that "doesn't have the same stigma, the same intensive regulatory studies and cost that we would normally associate with GMOs." Fraley described the novel technology as "incredible" and "breathtaking."
And then, we have the "there's no need to worry the digestive process kills anything before it gets into your system" argument:
The panel concluded there's "no convincing evidence" that RNAi material poses a threat to humans or other animals—the digestive process likely destroys it before it can do harm. But for nontarget insects in the field, they concluded, it's a different story. The technology's boosters claim the technology can target particular pests and leave everything else in the ecosystem alone.
IN other words, there's no danger that the RNA interference technology will "jump species" into animals or humans consuming the products sprayed with Mon(ster)santo's latest concoction.
We've heard this before, and it led my co-author of Transhumanism: A Grimoire of Alchemical Agendas, Dr Scott deHart and I to posit the idea that horizontal gene transfer might occur even through the digestive system. We were, predictably, laughed at for even raising the possibility. After all, we all know that eating beef or pork doesn't turn us into cows and pigs, right?
But the danger is real, if not more subtle:
GMO Jumping Genes
Or this:
Confirmed: DNA From Genetically Modified Crops Can Be Transferred Into Humans Who Eat Them
Complete Genes May Pass from Food to Human Blood
There is of course a skeptical literature countering all this, such as here:
5.1—DNA fragments in the gut are plentiful, but cause no problems
But as we argued in Transhumanism, such claim and counter-claim in the literature only highlight what the problem all along was, and is: when dealing with just such horizontal transposons, it is surely the height of arrogance to assume we know all the mechanisms of such transfer, or that life - even genetically engineered life - will not create such mechanisms, and hence very long-term intergenerational studies are necessary before such products should be allowed into the open market. Many papers continue to be produced assuring us (and everyone else) that such risks are minimal. But a careful consideration of what even some scientific papers are suggesting should make it clear that there are risks, and accordingly, such technologies should be viewed and tested with all due diligence.
But don't expect I.G. Farbensanto or its bought-and-paid-for scientismists and government lackeys to do it, for I suspect we are dealing - as Dr. deHart and I argued in Transhumanism - with an agenda that isn't just about profits. It's about creating Frankenfoods for the alchemical reengineering of mankind itself. It is comforting that at least Russia and some other countries increasingly indicate that they don't want their populations to be the lab rats in I.G.
