It has often boggled my mind on how much is really hidden in plain sight, dangled right out in front of our faces.
This also seems to remain true, strung across many genres. It seems as if everywhere you look and everywhere you go these days if you’re alert you will see.
At this point you might be asking yourself, what is he talking about?
Simply messages, hidden in plain sight.
A conversation struck up a few weeks beck between Michael Murphy (filmmaker) and I in my front yard. Although, I don’t remember exactly what prompted the conversation, but, needless to say, it was rather interesting.
Within the dialogue we literally were talking along the same lines of this very article (things hidden in plain sight), which led us to the subject of, Evian bottled water.
To some there is nothing mysterious about Evian bottled water. After all, it’s known to be the finest water on the earth by most.
In fact, their website reads, “Water is essential to life. In fact, your body is mostly water. And about every 7 weeks, that water is renewed, mostly by what you drink. Each day, an average adult naturally loses 2.5 to 3 liters of water under normal conditions. That water must be replaced. A person can live 40 days without food but will not survive more than 2 or 3 days without water. That’s why it’s so important to hydrate properly.”
So essentially the official Evian.com website recommends that you purchase 3 liters of water daily from Evian.
A quick search for “Evian bottled water” yields the following price analysis:

Couple that with the following mathematical details:

3.78 Litres = 1 US Gallon

33.8 OZ = 1 Litre

So at 3 liters per day (Approx.. 6 bottles), 6 x $1.33, the daily spend would be about $7.99. That’s more than a gallon of gasoline, and people are paying this for a natural resource that is abundant and free.

So at $7.99 a day would you say buying EVIAN bottled water is a bit NAIVE?
