Images appear to show box with wire hidden beneath her clothing

Paul Joseph Watson - September 27, 2016

Photos from last night’s presidential debate appear to show Hillary Clinton with some kind of device hidden under her clothing.

Images being circulated on Twitter show what appears to be the shape of a box under Hillary’s red pantsuit, with a wire from it running up her back.

As the World Tribune reported on Sunday, presidential debate moderators are not allowed to wear earpieces during the debates, but the Federal Election Commission refused to rule out the use of communications devices for candidates.

Earlier this month, the Clinton campaign was forced to deny claims that Hillary was wearing an earpiece during the presidential forum on September 7th.

Some assert that the box is connected to a wireless lapel mic and that both candidates were wearing them, which is the likeliest explanation, although the podiums were also fitted with microphones.
Twitter users even speculated that the device was an instrument that sends impulses to the brain to alleviate symptoms of Parkinson’s disease.

While that’s somewhat of a stretch, it does look like there is something hidden under Hillary’s pantsuit.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

BIRTHER OF A NATION

Posted by Conspiracy Cafe on September 28

In the great Presidential debate of 2016 we waited for the all time heavyweight championship of the left right paradigm. Though rigged in favor of the NWO's candidate Hillary Clinton, there was plenty of room for The Donald to not only wiggle but drive the proverbial wooden stake through the demon's heart. Since he knew what the questions would be in advance, he should have prepared himself better. He was in the ring with one hand tied behind his back facing the champion of slime.

There were two opportunities presented to The Donald. The main one was of the conspiracy genre the Obama birth certificate. It is related to the candidate being forthright on a number of issues like the tax and health records. They all hold close to the chest the ones they don't want people to see. Hillary hides her health issues and The Donald his tax returns. However, if you know something to be true and hold your ideals to heart, you can't knuckle under to the great deceptions. Obama was never born in the United States. That's why he withheld his birth certificate for so many years, and when he did release one, it was fraudulent.

Though not required in a sound bite logic debate, the four flaws are his race for one. In 1961 you were a negro not an African American. The term hadn't been invented yet. Listen to any speech by Dr. Martin Luther King for a reality check. Second his father's birth place was listed as Kenya, East Africa a nation that wasn't formed until two years after the birth. Kenya was a British colony at the time. Third the alleged hospital, Kapi’olani Maternity & Gynecological Hospital, wasn't in existence until 1978. One of the component parts could have been the hospital, but a copy of the record must be historically accurate. Obama stated in his book his father was a WW2 veteran. He was born in 1936. They took them rather young it appears.

Other flaws are the Certificate of Live Birth isn't exactly a birth certificate. It was printed on a computer printer and not typed onto paper. To the modern day manipulator a typewriter must be something only seen in the Smithsonian. Another factor was the information was so classified that the originator of the document was promptly killed in a plane crash. Her name was Loretta Fuddy.

Of course we must muddy the waters further due to the fact sources in Kenya take credit for the birth including two hospitals. They have provided a birth certificate too. We have to acquire skills in discernment to live in the matrix of lies and deceits. The example would be using the age old concept of logic. It was a requirement for the DNC to prove his birth status from the outset. They should have asked for and seen a birth certificate. People are asked all the time to buy liquor or tobacco. There's no big deal. He'd only have to hide it for a reason. There's something wrong with it. He couldn't show he was Born in the U.S.A. His background in my opinion was completely created and makes the hidden birth certificate a minor issue. He was created as a Manchurian President to lead the world down a counter revolutionary trail of fascism and destroy America.

However, you can't win a debate with facts. People aren't really listening in highly charged emotional situations. To succeed you have to be the champion of wit. What The Donald should have done was concede the fact with Orwellian logic. He should have stated that he was led by Obama's refusal to produce the document for so many years and it seemed logical that there wasn't one. He should have expressed gratitude at the discovery and the marvels of technology that printed it on a printer that wasn't invented in 1961, that foresaw the establishment of the Kenyan nation and the merger of the hospital in question 17 years after the fact. It was a marvel in American ingenuity. He should have reminded Hillary of one of the top novels of the 20th century 1984. Two plus two must be what we decide it is to be not whatever Big Brother says it is. In this instance we were being forced to accept the DNC's fraudulent line. Trump then could concede that now in the face of the great pressure that you and the corporate borg of media have applied to me, that two plus two equals three. I guess that's how you earned the label Big Sister. However, there still are facets of the American people that don't adhere to the state telling us what to think in spite of obvious flaws. Personally I suspect one of the Kenyan birth certificates was a fake one put out by the Obamamites to muddy the waters.

Another major issue that The Donald dropped the ball on was the tax return. That was a golden opportunity wasted. His answer should have been to say Hillary I've known you personally for many long years. I will always regret not following your lead by establishing a charitable foundation and laundering my money from questionable sources through Canada so it couldn't be classified as taxable. It was a serious mistake on my part, but at least I had the integrity not to offer employment to the Commissioner of Internal Revenue to one of my companies like you did to FBI Director Comey. I further understand what the 'C' from classified means. And I did not delete my tax return like you have done with the 33,000 E-Mails subpoenaed. Slam dunk wooden steak through the demon's heart. The icing on the cake would be her admonishing him for using negative words to certain women in the past. Of course the DNC made reference to Bernie sanders' Jewish faith and that should have been his retort. He should have added further that the allegations are that the vote was rigged to favor Clinton over Sanders. Should we expect vote rigging from the coming election from your side as well?

In regard to what he was allegedly hiding and the allegations he didn't pay any income tax, it must be remembered many corporations and wealthy individuals pay little to no taxes. It is not illegal. It might be immoral. However, that's not really an issue. I'm sure Hillary pays far less her due if it weren't for the Clinton Foundation. However, Donald has a foundation too The Donald J. Trump Foundation. There are allegations shady people and deals go through it as well. Perhaps after all he did listen to Hillary and won't press the issue as well as we would like, but at least he was born in the U.S.A. not that that matters anyway. The big conspiracy is the United States went bankrupt and the present system is a corporation for the receiver. That's why we need the birth certificates anyway. We are a Birther Nation. The President of the corporation doesn't.

What Cord Cutting? Cable Sector Hiked TV Prices 40% In Last Five Years

by Karl Bode

from the blind-deaf-and-dumb dept

We've noted time and time again that the cable and broadcast industry could compete with cord cutting by lowering prices, it just chooses not to. Even with last quarter seeing the biggest quarterly defection by paying subscribers ever recorded, time and time again you'll see sector sycophants proclaim that cord cutting either doesn't exist, or has been violently over-hyped and isn't worth taking seriously. In fact, most sector executives still believe that the shift away from traditional cable will magically end once Millennials start procreating (protip: it won't).

As such, they've continued to raise cable TV rates at an absurd rate in the belief that they can keep milking the legacy cable TV cash cow in perpetuity. And while broadcasters certainly take the lion's share of the blame for raising the cost of programming, you'd be hard pressed to find a cable TV provider that isn't making things worse by also saddling consumers with misleading fees for nothing and soaring cable box, modem, and other hardware rental costs.

The end result is users paying 40% more for cable TV than they did just five years ago. In fact the average cable bill is now $103.10 per month, an increase of 4% in the past year. And while the cable sector is quick to proclaim that this just reflects the "increased value" of cable TV, the reality is that most cable ops are trimming back overall channels to try and offset the bloated, soaring cost of sports programming.

While it remains true that the vast majority still subscribe to cable TV and cord cutting is a slow trickling phenomenon, last quarter saw 800,000 pay TV customers leave for cheaper pastures. And things are actually a little worse than that when you remember that cable TV subscriber totals aren't scaling with a rebounded housing market. In other words, millions of people are not reconnecting cable after they move:
"About 82% of households that use a TV currently subscribe to a pay-TV service. This is down from where it was five years ago, and similar to the penetration level eleven years ago," said Bruce Leichtman, president and principal analyst for Leichtman Research Group, Inc. "The rates of those exiting the category, or intending to leave, are actually similar to recent years. The decline in penetration is also due to a lack of those who are coming into the category, and the industry not keeping pace with movers and related rental housing growth."
A different study this week predicted that TV providers could lose nearly $1 billion in revenue as another 800,000 customers cut the cord over the next 12 months:
The study, which is based on an online survey of 1,119 U.S. customers, estimates that pay-TV providers lose about $1,248 per cord-cutter annually. That’s because the average cord-cutter saves $104 a month—about 56% of their bill--from dropping cable TV...“The consumer is discovering they don’t need the mean, evil cable company to get the content that they want, and they can get it for a better deal,” said Steve Beck, managing partner at cg42. A $1 billion loss of revenue is small for the entire pay TV industry, but it is a warning sign.
And it's a warning sign that's going to continue to be ignored by the cable and broadcasting industry. It's abundantly clear that beyond lip service to "innovation," the cable sector doesn't plan to do the one thing that would stop cord cutting dead in its tracks: lower rates. Instead, knowing full well they hold a monopoly over the broadband last mile, they've decided to raise rates on broadband via usage caps and overage fees. Should customers continue to cut the cord, skyrocketing broadband usage surcharges will simply let them grab their expected pound of flesh in a different way.

Strange Tales of Time Travel: Space-Time Warps and Temporal Slipstime-1

While generally relegated to the realm of fiction, I have long been fascinated with the subject of “real” time travel. Hence, I have also kept a watchful eye out for those occasional stories about individuals who claim they have managed to visit locations where some sort of strange “warpage” of time and space may occur.
In the past (no pun intended!) here at Mysterious Universe, I have written about such instances, which include the curious recollections of Bruce Gernon, who claimed to have flown a light aircraft through such a warpage in space and time while en route to Bimini several years ago (you can read my article about Gernon’s story here). Other pieces with similar themes include my analysis of the archetypal elements present within cultural references to supposed time travel, as I discussed in this article.
Often referred to as “time slips”, such instances often are said to involve specific locations, where those visiting will notice unusual phenomena that appears to indicate a change in the surroundings indicative of a passage by some physical means backward in time to an earlier period.
Granted, nothing about the known laws of physics in the modern world can account for such a thing. Even the more widely publicized incidents that involve such supposed phenomena remain questionable, which include what is known as the “Versailles Time Slip” incident. The case in question involved two women who claimed they had travelled to the past while visiting the gardens of the Palace of Versailles in 1901, and in response to the women’s odd claims of time travel, a number of equally bizarre scenarios have been offered to explain the circumstances, which included the notion that sexual tensions between the observers might have contributed to their confusion about their surroundings.
However, as skeptical researcher Brian Dunning noted in 2012, “There was never any need for authors to introduce lesbian madness and transvestite follies to explain their erroneous perception. Moberly and Jourdain were simply human; and that, in itself, is the most complex explanation of all.”
time-3
Indeed, there are a number of ways someone may, from time to time, claim to experience strange circumstances that appear to be well removed from the average and everyday, and yet which remain easily explainable just as well. In equal measure, there are certain instances that seem to push the boundaries of recognized physical phenomenon, whether or not “time travel” is involved in any way.
Such was the case with a unique email I received from a listener of mine some time ago, who related a very strange story about a hike that occurred in Ohio, in which he and his companion noted odd changes to their surroundings which appeared, to them, to escape simple explanation.
The message reads as follows:
Hello to Mr Hanks and company,
I wished to relate something to you that happened to me and a friend a while ago. First I am 32 years old and I currently live in Pennsylvania but I am originally from Ohio. I am often skeptical of some out there claims but after listening to Gralien Report, Mysterious Universe, Jim Harold, Grimmercia, and Expanded Perspectives I had to open my mind back up a little bit about preternatural things like spirits, ghosts, maybe other things, etc etc.
So onto my account – back in September of 2008 my best friend Ciera (pronounced Sierra) and I went to a park named Hocking Hills in Ohio for a day retreat from our busy lives. We had decided on this at random when we first got together early in the morning just after sunrise; it was a nice warm late summer day and we’d just got the wild notion to go for a drive to Hocking Hills since the area is well known for its several walking trails, a cave or two, and several waterfalls and running water / creek areas. The day was very warm maybe roughly 70 degrees Fahrenheit / 21 degrees Celsius so we had worn shorts and short sleeved T-shirts. The park was full of people and there were walking families, couples, and a lot more all over the place
We started down a trail we had taken many times before, one that would force us to cross a paved road near it’s end in order to continue, and played with our mobile phones. I remember it  was roughly around 12:00 pm EST at the time and we kept walking forwards around a small hill and up the steeper part of the trail which was near the road. As we walked we were passed by a group of backpackers before we reached the road and one of the people turned around to warn us to be aware of a wash out up ahead if we were going to take the trail into the woods across the road, they recommended we follow the one next to the fire tower instead as it by-passed a small clump of downed brush.
The guy pointed to a small branch off the main trail to our left and told us good luck or something like that, we walked up the little trail and I remember Ciera stating the path we were on wasn’t showing on her park-map application on her phone. I recall telling her it was most likely new or something done for the wash out. That was about the end of our conversation and we moved on. We crossed under where the power lines were strung up into another part of the woods and ended up near the road.
As we crossed it to the tower trail just across from where we stood,  I noticed there was caution tape all over the fire tower, there was a pungent smell in the air which we could not identify, the windows on top of the tower appeared to be taped up, grimy, and there were flies all over the area. We walked past it, commenting how odd it was, and continued down the trail we had been recommend to take, but it was one neither of us had noticed before on a previous walk to the area. This trail took us past the fire tower and then cut into the woodlands; as we walked into the forest maybe a couple hundred feet or so we took notice that no one seemed to be around and in fact not only did we feel isolated from others but we felt very chilled without explanation. Ciera pointed it out verbally while I was thinking it, but we just continued walking. Eventually the air started to get noticeably chillier and damper. This did not seem unusual at first but as we continued to walk the air seemed to go from warm to what felt like the mid-50’s Fahrenheit / 10’s Celsius and we started to shiver.
It was also getting darker as we continued forward; at first I thought it was just due to the green leaves on the trees and maybe a passing cloud over head but the darkness really did not improve as one expected. As we walked we looked around and there were nothing but trees on all sides, there should have been a forest edge somewhere as the area wasn’t really that big but aside from some hills and tall pine trees there wasn’t a real ‘ending’ to the woods. We expected to see the edge near the road.
My friend took out her phone to use her GPS because she instinctively felt lost but her battery was nearly gone, I took mine out of my back pocket and it was also near dead. The clock on it showed “EE:EE” for the time (meaning it couldn’t update as it was an older style slide-phone with keyboard and camera that, when set to auto-adjust, would contact the mobile phone network every 15 min for time updates).
It was only then as the light grew dimmer that I noticed the area seemed a so silent. Our footsteps, the leaves we stepped on, grass, twigs, and our breathing just echoed but there were no animal noises. Ciera got spooked and I did too, she mentioned it was very out of the ordinary and I agreed but I couldn’t shake this sense of foreboding that something was amiss. I tried to rationalize it but I really, honestly, couldn’t figure any of it out at all.
We just pressed onwards and after going down a small hill and back up it seemed to have gotten a lot darker, like just near sunset dark. My friend grabbed my arm and started freaking out about how weird it got – then the air seemed to have gone still and we had a feeling of something wrong. She dragged me as she took off running forward looking for an exit, for some odd reason we never thought to turn around at all and just got back the way we came. It never seemed to occur to us as we ran but the spookiness continued as we could hear our steps echo off the area as things just felt like they grew more gloomy feeling.
Then ahead of us down another small dip in the trail we could see two large honeysuckle bushes on either side of the trail like a gate. We made a mad dash for these bushes and just as we pushed through the plants something odd happened – we were over whelmed by a change in our surroundings as light, sound, and warmth returned all at once. It was like stepping outside of a cold, empty, and dark building to a warm busy street. We stood at the edge of a place known as Ash Cave, which has a large water fall not too far away with a u-shaped cliff. I turned around to look back from where we emerged and while the bushes were the same the area was so different, brighter, not silent for sure because there were hikers near the falls, and warmer. In fact our skin was cold to touch which just reinforced the strangeness. We took a moment to rest from that little run.
Logic attempted to set in and we decided the trail we came up must have just appeared creepy because there may have been clouds over head or a storm blew by but when we went back between the bushes there was no trail. Nothing looked like it had a few seconds ago. Ciera walked around the bushes twice and it was the same bright sunny day with no darkness and no trail. We waited, it was blue sky over head and we could see the edges of the forest and other people. The trail had simply vanished as it we had never walked it.
On returning to the normal trail we were use to and headed back, we took out our phones and the time had finally updated, it was now 4pm. The normal trail would only have taken an hour to walk fully so it was a loss of three full hours! When we ended back near the fire tower on the normal trail we noticed it was normal looking as the windows were no longer taped and very crystal clean, and there was no pungent smell. We don’t know what it was, but it certainly was creepy. Of course I jokingly told her later that day over dinner we had entered the faerie realms by mistake and were lucky to get away, she didn’t find that funny of course but either way we both felt we should share this with you and if anyone out there has had a similar experience perhaps they can provide insight or share their own.
I also mapped out the spots I mention above as GPS Google Cords:
Where we parked  39.417079, -82.525668
Where the trail head is 39.416284, -82.523969
Where trail to go by the wash out went 39.410145, -82.523196 to 39.406292,-82.529016 to 39.405647, -82.529390
Where we crossed the road 39.405579,-82.530086
Ranger Fire Tower  39.405858,-82.530737
The Main Trail  39.405871,-82.530783
The ‘Mysterious Side Trail’ which is not there  39.405732,-82.53062
Where we came out at when we passed the bushes  39.399488,-82.539029
Where we logically SHOULD have come out  39.399803,-82.537403
From reading this email, I will note (despite my general skepticism toward such stories) that the author brought a very leveled tone with the message related above. But what can we make of it altogether? Perhaps one need not assert that something akin to a “time slip” had occurred, in order to question the nature of the apparent changes the hikers reported in their surroundings. Still, the observations appeared to indicate something out of the ordinary, whatever may have been underway at the time.
time-2
This message (which I featured on my podcast, The Gralien Report) inspired another listener with a similar story to come forward and share his own encounter, which took place in Northern Ireland, also in 2008:
At the time I was staying in the town of Derry, in Northern Ireland, and had decided to take a day trip via public transit to the beach town of Buncrana.  The bus trip seemed to take much longer than expected and when I asked the driver which stop was to be Buncrana, he laughed and said I had missed it ages ago.  Not only that, but this bus service was infrequent and the next one going back in the direction from which we’d come wasn’t going to be for several hours.  The driver let me off in a small village, the name of which escapes me, and I began hitchhiking back toward Derry.  It was raining heavily that day, so it was lucky my first ride came quickly – two older Irish men who kindly took me back as far as Buncrana.
Buncrana isn’t a large place, so it was a short walk to the beach from where the men dropped me off.  At some point in the drive the rain had stopped and as I arrived at the beach the sky was clear and a late afternoon sun was beginning to set (this was in December).  It was a lovely scene, but after a while I noticed it was eerily quiet and the only living thing I could see for any distance was a black dog, which had turned up when I wasn’t paying attention.  It was unremarkable, so far as dogs go – I know sweet piss-all about dogs but I think it was a black lab – but it behaved in a curious way; wherever I went along the grass near the beach, the dog followed, staying about 5-6 feet away.  Whenever I stepped closer to him, he began to growl and bark.  Eventually this behavior and the quiet started to wig me out and I began walking toward a large hotel looking the water some distance away.  My thinking was I’d have a cup of coffee, harmlessly (and, no doubt, poorly) flirt with a waitress then head back to the highway and thumb a ride to Derry.  The black dog paced me the entire trip to the hotel, maintaining the same amount of distance, and the closer I got to the hotel, the more unnerved I was by the whole situation and the more desperate I got for that coffee and some human interaction.  When I arrived at the hotel – the Inishowen Gate Hotel, I’ve since learned it’s called – I was devastated to see that the whole place was boarded up – windows, etc – and just as deserted as everything else.
What made this more odd than it might ordinarily be was the size of the place – this isn’t a small hotel, and it’s unusual to see a place that big and in a spot that choice, unoccupied.  I didn’t explore the building much because by this point the sun had passed the horizon and well, I was still unnerved.  Turning away from the hotel, I saw the black dog was gone just as quickly and quietly as he’d come.  From the hotel I walked along the water’s edge to a boat launch, where I watched a bank of fog roll down the hills across the water.  By the time I looked away from the coming weather there was a group of about five or six cats who had turned up to keep me company.  For whatever reason, this eased my mind a bit and I started walking back towards town.
My memory of the day is murky but the way I recall it, I went from a kind of cavernous silence to “regular small town” in a matter of moments; suddenly there were people, cars and noise. Soon enough there was rain again, too.  It took two rides to get back to Derry, the second of which was with a middle-aged man who had grown up in the area.  We were talking about the scenery around Buncrana and he told me he’d been married in the hotel on the water.  When I mentioned it was now closed he sounded surprised – apparently the place is a bit of a local institution – but didn’t press the subject further.
As I said at the beginning, the story from yesterday’s broadcast brought this back to me.  While it did sound a little too “Silent Hill” to be real (it also brought to mind Stephen King’s short story “Crouch End”), the parallels with my experience, particularly the shuttered hotel, were hard to ignore and so I decided to figure out which hotel it had been and see whether they had been closed during the winter of 2008.  The clerk I spoke to at the Inishowen Gateway Hotel this afternoon informed me they do not close during winters and, as far as she knows, it was not shuttered during winter 2008.
This story, like a lot of the strange and unusual things I’ve experienced/collected (for a book project, which I won’t shill until the ink is dry with Llewellyn in June) is something for which I have no explanation and tends to be something that comes up after a few drinks.  I don’t know that these events amount to or mean anything but as a recent listener to the podcast (this is my third week subscribing) I was enthused to have something to contribute.  Any thoughts you may have on the subject are very welcome.
Yet again, the witness in this instance claimed to have observed changes to his surroundings that were inconsistent with the area he had visited at that time. Had there indeed been a broader phenomenon occurring here, and if so, why did the hotel appear to be closed or abandoned, and at a time when this should not rightly have been the case?
The known laws of physics make such notions as “time slips” an extremely unreliable hypothesis, if not one that is likely to be impossible, at least in conventional circumstances. Hence, if this explanation cannot be offered for stories that recount such odd environmental changes, what else about the circumstances may possibly influence the environment–or the observers–in a way conducive to what the latter have observed?

ANOTHER CLUE ABOUT THE HIDDEN SYSTEM OF FINANCE: DARK NETS

ANOTHER CLUE ABOUT THE HIDDEN SYSTEM OF FINANCE: DARK NETS
Mr. N.S. noticed and shared this article, and I think it is hugely important, even though it may not be recognized in many places as such.
Why the importance?
Over the years I've argued in various blogs, interviews, and most importantly, books, that there is in existence a hidden system of finance in the world, being run largely by elements in the American deep state, in collusion with those not only in other countries, but in certain prime banks of the western financial system. This system, I have argued, relies on various forms of "securities", usually in the form of commodities-backed bearer bonds. As a component of this argument, I have also proposed the hypothesis that the bearer bonds scandals of 2009 and onward were components of this scheme that, inadvertently, were exposed by various police actions, but that they were not recognized as such, and usually dismissed as "hoaxes" and the involved securities as :"counterfeits." Never addressed by the lamestream media was the fact that if these scandals represented counterfeiting schemes, then they represented some of the goofiest schemes in history. We were assured that no such bearer bonds were ever issued by the US Treasury. But the unasked, and hence unanswered question, was why anyone would counterfeit a security which never existed at all? One does not counterfeit seven dollar bills. Similarly, the counterfeiter relies on the counterfeit instrument to be exchanged for goods, services, or legitimate securities or money. Counterfeiting securities in astronomical denominations of hundreds of millions, or even a billion dollars, also seems to defeat the purpose of counterfeiting, for even at extremely sharp discount, who has that kind of pocket change? Considerations such as these led me to propose that there was an underlying reality represented by the bearer bonds scandals, and that they in turn may be part of this hidden system of finance. There were, of course, academic attempts in a few books to derail this whole notion, and I even covered some of them in my book Covert Wars and Breakaway Civilizations. These attempts were less than convincing, and didn't even address the fundamental questions as I have reviewed them in this paragraph.
But now there is perhaps, with this article, another clue into the the architecture of this system:
Consider the implications of these paragraphs for the hypothesis of such a hidden system of finance, for after all, if one is moving billions, perhaps even trillions, of dollars of "securities", one has to have a means of trading and clearing quickly and cleanly:
Definitions. A vulnerability is a weakness in a network’s defenses. An exploit is a piece of software that takes advantage of a vulnerability. A zero-day exploit is a piece of software that takes advantage of a vulnerability that is known to a small group of aggressors and generally not to the defenders. “Back door” is another name for much the same. There are variations. Infinite invention is at play. Welcome to the Dark Net, a wilderness where wars are fought and hackers roam. More definitions. The Dark Net exists within the deep web, which lies beneath the surface net, which is familiar to everyone. The surface net can be roughly defined as “anything you can find through Google” or that is otherwise publicly indexed for all to see. The deep web is deep because it cannot be accessed through ordinary search engines. Its size is uncertain, but it is believed to be larger than the surface net above it. And it is mostly legitimate. It includes everything from I.R.S. and Social Security data to the internal communications of Sony and the content management system at The New York Times. It includes Hillary Clinton’s e-mails and text messages, along with everyone else’s. Almost all of it is utterly mundane.
The Dark Net occupies the basement. Its users employ anonymizing software and encryption to hide themselves as they move around. Such tools offer a measure of privacy. Whistle-blowers and political dissidents have good reason to resort to them. Criminals do, too. White fades quickly through gray and then to black in the Dark Net. Furtive sites there offer all manner of contraband for sale—narcotics, automatic weapons, contract killings, child pornography. The most famous of these sites was Silk Road—the brainchild of Ross Ulbricht, a libertarian entrepreneur who was arrested by the F.B.I. in San Francisco in 2013 and sentenced last year to life in prison without parole. New and even larger marketplaces have opened, including the current leader, AlphaBay, which is owned by a man who has been quoted as saying he resides in an “off-shore country where I am safe,” gives interviews to the press, and openly defies attempts by the authorities to shut him down. There are twists: illegal narcotics sold over the Dark Net tend to be purer, and therefore safer, than those sold on the street—this because of the importance to the sellers of online customer ratings. By comparison, it is hard to see the bright side of missile launchers or child pornography. (Emphasis added)
For those who, like myself, suspect that the child sex slavery business, and the occasional scandals that break out concerning it - the Saville and Franklin scandals, or the Finders scandal, or even the Penn State scandals - are all deeply related, this provides food for thought. But go a step further: what if all these activities are related to this hidden system of finance and the group or groups utilizing it?
Such a capability would not only seem to be warranted but essential to any such hidden system of finance. Notably, as the article states, virtually every type of criminal activity and group is represented on that "Dark Net":
Opsec worked for nearly six months to clean up the mess. By backtracking he discovered that the hackers were a group associated with the Chinese army. They operated out of a specific building near Shanghai, which he was able to locate, and specialized in targeting entertainment companies. Eventually he was able to identify some of the individuals involved, and even to obtain pictures of them. Nominally, that was the end of it. Opsec told me that because a government was involved, and legal recourse in China was unrealistic, no further action was taken.
What do you do when there is no law? Counter-hacking is a temptation, but can be dangerous. The Russian mob, for instance, has a poor sense of humor, and Colombian drug cartels are not much fun, either. Also, among independent hackers there is no small number of psychopaths. Over the years the Company has endured death threats, rape threats, and bomb scares. It gets personal. In a world without privacy, home addresses as well as the names of spouses and children are easily found. As the Democratic National Committee recently discovered, it is better not to get hacked in the first place.
If one wants to track such activities, much less the activities of a hidden system of finance, however, then it would seem to imply not only the existence of a "Dark Net", but of yet another "sub-basement" beneath even that, a "Storm Shelter" so to speak, enabled by technologies making it virtually impenetrable to the outsider, technologies reliant upon quantum encryption and entanglement for example. Notably, China just launched (or rather, claimed to have launched) the world's first quantum communications satellite.
In other words, to make such a hidden system in today's world work, one would need at least three things, two of which I have argued in previous books (Covert Wars and Breakaway Civilizations, and The Third Way): (1) a physical medium of exchange, represented by the "counterfeit" commodities backed bearer bonds, giving anonymity to the participants in the system, (2) the participation of hose in key positions in prime banks and clearing systems, and finally, as this article implies (3) a secure electronic system to track and monitor trades between participants, and that implies technological capabilities only recently coming into public view (think that Chinese satellite once again).
And there's one final consideration:
I and others (most notably Catherine Austin Fitts) have noted that all the money awash in the financial system is not behaving in a manner in accordance with any standard financial model or analysis. Effectively, we are arguing that the financial anlyst who does not factor in the huge size not only of the black budget, but more importantly, of the underground economy and of the hidden system of finance, simply cannot and will never be able to make any accurate financial prediction. The essence of the argument is that too much money is disappearing, and not appearing anywhere in the planet's financial system. With this in mind, we have concluded that much of it might simply be disappearing off planet, in the form of a tribute, tithe, or even trade, conducted by the mandarins of that system. It sounds, of course, at first glance, totally loony, until one looks at the actual figures. Quadrillions in derivatives, exceeding by several times the entire annual planetary gross domestic product? Either the banksters are committing financial suicide for everyone, or those quadrillions have been collaterized... elsewhere and with resources of "elsewhere".
And to make that work, and keep it secret, one would have to have such a deep dark net, a "storm shelter"....
