Would you be surprised to learn that tens of billions in cold, hard cash was shuffled around just prior to 9-11 by none other than the Fed itself?  Probably not.  Here's a graph, illustrating the change in USD currency production over a ten week period prior to 9-11 compared to the average over the five years prior (which, by the way, includes the Y2K money printing orgy in the year 2000 itself, which skews the average higher):

That's right.  The average increase was $8 billion over five years, but it exploded to $18 billion just prior to that fateful day.  None other than a Federal Reserve economist discovered this and was promptly fired for his efforts to reveal the cause.  The official story involves an Argentine currency crisis.  Clearly, this required his termination.  We interviewed him, and this is his story at 2:49 in:

We’ve extensively documented that the bigger story behind the murder of ambassador Chris Stevens at the Benghazi embassy in Libya is that the embassy was the center of U.S. efforts to arm jihadis in Syria who are trying to topple the Syrian government.

Since January, some CIA operatives involved in the agency’s missions in Libya, have been subjected to frequent, even monthly polygraph examinations, according to a source with deep inside knowledge of the agency’s workings.
The goal of the questioning, according to sources, is to find out if anyone is talking to the media or Congress.
It is being described as pure intimidation, with the threat that any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her career.
In exclusive communications obtained by CNN, one insider writes, “You don’t jeopardize yourself, you jeopardize your family as well.”
Another says, “You have no idea the amount of pressure being brought to bear on anyone with knowledge of this operation.”
“Agency employees typically are polygraphed every three to four years. Never more than that,” said former CIA operative and CNN analyst Robert Baer.
In other words, the rate of the kind of polygraphs alleged by sources is rare.
“If somebody is being polygraphed every month, or every two months it’s called an issue polygraph, and that means that the polygraph division suspects something, or they’re looking for something, or they’re on a fishing expedition. But it’s absolutely not routine at all to be polygraphed monthly, or bi-monthly,” said Baer.

The lack of information and pressure to silence CIA operatives is disturbing to U.S. Rep. Frank Wolf, whose district includes CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.
“I think it is a form of a cover-up, and I think it’s an attempt to push it under the rug, and I think the American people are feeling the same way,” said the Republican.

Lawmakers also want to about know the weapons in Libya, and what happened to them.
Speculation on Capitol Hill has included the possibility the U.S. agencies operating in Benghazi were secretly helping to move surface-to-air missiles out of Libya, through Turkey, and into the hands of Syrian rebels.

The CIA would not comment on whether it was involved in the transfer of any weapons.

A day after admitting that she lived a double life of that of an escort, 44 year old former Olympic runner Suzy Favor Hamilton has been cut by Disney who had over the years engaged her as a spokesperson for their concern.
The former Olympic athlete who ran for the US team in 1992, 1996 and 2000 was scheduled to  speak at Disneyland’s upcoming Half Marathon but organizers decided that the revelations of her extra curricular activity would not be a correct match for their ‘more’ wholesome image.

In another, Favor-Hamilton wrote that the reasons behind her decision to turn to a life of prostitution, while seemingly irrational now, ‘made sense at the time’ and were closely related to depression.
‘As crazy as I know it seems, I never thought I would be exposed, therefore never hurting anybody,’ she said in one Twitter post.
The Olympian has refused to be labelled a victim, insisting that she knew what she was doing and taking full responsibility for her actions.
Which raises the ultimate question why is Suzy Favor Hamilton being demonized by the press and why at the end of the day is it anyone’s real concern if she chooses to work as a prostitute or not, when she clearly has stated she enjoys it and it was her own choice? Does the decision of a former infallible Olympic hero and wholesome spokesmodel say more about our misplaced expectations of how our supposed idols are supposed to live and do? Then again who said Suzy Favor Hamilton needs to live the life of a demi god when she too has real carnal desires and sensibilities that so many of us also have in real life?

Newly revealed documents from the Bank of England archive show the involvement of the bank in aiding the Nazis in selling stolen Czechoslovakian gold after the country was invaded. Throughout history, the Bank of England insists its role in the case was "widely misunderstood", The Telegraph reported.

The Nazis invaded Czechoslovakia in September 1938. In March the following year, the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) asked the Bank of England to switch £5.6 million-worth of gold from an account for the Czech national bank to one belonging to the Reichsbank. The British paper reported that documents revealed that much of the gold – nearly 2,000 gold bars – was then "disposed of" in Belgium, Holland and London. The BIS was chaired at the time by Bank of England director, German Otto Niemeyer.

The UK central bank also sold gold to the Nazis in June 1939, without waiting for approval from Westminster, the British paper added. The documents unveiled that "There was a further gold transaction on the 1st June 1939 when there were sales of gold (£440,000) and gold shipments to New York (£420,000) from the No.19 account of the BIS."

This time, before acting, The Telegraph reported, the Bank of England referred the matter to the Chancellor, who said that he would like the opinion of the law officers of the Crown.

"On the BIS enquiring, however, what was causing delay and saying that inconvenience would be caused because of payments the next day, the Bank of England acted on the instructions referring to the Law Officers, who, however, subsequently upheld their action." Just three months later, the Government declared war on Germany, following its invasion of Poland, according to The Telegraph.

In the official history, the Bank insisted that it would have been "wrong and dangerous" for the future of BIS if Governor Montagu Norman took any other course of action, The Telegraph said. It claimed the UK and French governments would have breached peace treaties if they had blocked the move.

Historians have argued that Montagu Norman supported Germany right up until the Second World War. He reportedly attended the christening of the son of Dr Hjalmar Schacht, president of the Reichsbank before the war.

The Telegraph reported that his right hand man at the Bank was Otto Niemeyer who chaired the Bank of International Settlements which was set up in 1930 as a non-political body to facilitate the payments of reparations from Germany after the First World War.

After the outbreak of war, the documents reveal, the Government told the Bank of England it should not act upon an order from the BIS "if it seems to the Bank to be likely that the order might benefit the enemy", The Telegraph reported.

Go ahead, be a fool, tell yourself that you are still part of that once proud American “middle-class,” then dare look in the mirror and see yourself as nothing but a zombie. Or, rather, the new identifiable species in the US: the Amerizombie, a reanimated economic corpse, undead but politically clueless to the new global realities.
Still managing to put food on the table, living on borrowed money and tiredly keeping both your mind and your mouth shut as you face America’s sad sack economic reality?  Well, if so… you are doing it at your peril; living your economic agony in denial, begging for that last pain-killing shot of economic morphine before you expire.
Unfortunately, we, the poor in America – including those soon-to-be poor – will depart this world leaving behind those we have procreated; a generation, perhaps two, of future slaves we have incestuously sold to the ruling class.  Yet, stupidly, call ourselves part of that subjugated and submissive 99 percent “majority,” making claims, directing blame solely against “that evil” 1 percent in our population!
But such portrayal of socio-economic America is way off the mark. We might prefer the safety and camaraderie of a common enemy very small in number, that ubiquitous 1 percent, instead of confronting the sad reality of an existing economic “class struggle.”  For the time being, however, we can only label ourselves the poor 80 percent, the other 19 percent remaining in the population being the true middle class, US’ bourgeoisie of early 21st century: civil servants at all three levels (municipal, state and federal), the military, teachers, lower-income professionals, and a few other groups which remain economically unscathed after a three-decade sacking by the ruling class. Sacking which took place at the same time as America’s working class was thrown to the croc-infested waters to be devoured by the aquatic tetrapod of unplanned globalization.
Yep, the ugly reality we prefer to disregard, not face at all: the Squires (19 percent) serving the Knights (1 percent) by either choice or default... dressed in the same duds as the poor to remain inconspicuous in the safety of a mythical 99-percent economically homogenous crowd.  A class struggle most often hidden because of family ties, where economic help is often provided by those with means to those in need; but a struggle which is increasingly being identified as a generational class struggle… the under-35 population receiving the greatest share of casualties drowning in poverty, unemployed or underemployed, in both cases decapitating man’s only inherent value: its dignity.
For over three decades we have seen America’s predatory capitalism sanguinely taking much of the middle class to the economic guillotine, clearing any labor costs obstruction to maximize profit via globalization; after all, isn’t that what our beloved capitalism is all about: maximization of profits?  Our elected politicians, regardless of which of the twin parties they belonged to, became our Executioner-Congress… the president of this US becoming the Executioner-in-Chief.  Our list of EIC’s since Carter left the White House is all-inclusive: Reagan, the two-Bushes, now Obama… not to forget Bill Clinton, America’s answer in economic crimes to the greatest serial killer of all time, Vasili Blokhin, Soviet Supreme Executioner of the Stalinist NKVD – Blokhin using a 7.65 mm Walther PPK pistol while his American homologue, William Jefferson Clinton, preferred to stay blood-spray free by using a simple stroke of a pen.
Globalization, however, is not the sole reason for the chaotic economy, or the latent class struggle likely to erupt at any time without warning from economic seismicity or social deformation.  The culprit in front of us, one we refuse to acknowledge and deal with, is the existing inequality in both income and wealth in America... far greater than that of any other advanced economy.  While we have acknowledged and measured the inequity in pay between genders (women, in general, being paid approximately 70 percent of that paid to men for the same/comparable job), we have failed to do similar comparisons in overall compensation (to include benefits) for jobs in the public sector versus those in the private sector… comparisons which yield differences not of 30 percent, but of 100 to 200 percent, at times more.  Not just an invitation, but a sure way to bring in class struggle.
Meantime we’ll just continue our rants... against the Fed, Obama, anyone or anything we happen to dislike, even if relatively inconsequential to the true socio-economic health of our society.  Walt Kelly (via his Pogo character) had figured our base societal instincts half a century ago: “We have met the enemy and he is us.”          
On that concluding sentence I gave this column’s text to my dear friend to edit-suggest, as I usually do... and within five minutes, and an inquisitive smile on her face, she threw this comment back at me: “And you probably feel that we, Amerizombies, are truly getting our just deserts!”  To which I say… Amen.

Authors Christopher Knight and Alan Butler (book link) shared their theory that the moon is artificial and that it was deliberately engineered to sustain life on Earth. The moon is precisely designed “like a Swiss Clock,” and built to a “mathematical blueprint,” said Butler.
The material the moon is made out of came from the surface layers of the Earth, likely drawn from there using a series of small black holes that were placed in orbit around the planet, they explained. Butler & Knight presented three possibilities as to who was behind this operation: God could have created the moon. But knowing that the Sun and Earth already existed first, why wouldn’t this superior being have created the moon at the same time? Alien beings, highly advanced in technology, could have spotted our planet as a likely place for seeding life, and left their calling card (an obviously artificial moon). Human time travelers created the moon at some stage in the future, realizing that this needed to be done to incubate humanity in the past.
They believe that the time traveler explanation is the most valid. Humans would have the highest degree of interest in carrying out such a monumental task, said Butler, and time travel appears to be increasingly a real possibility, added Knight.

Sailing through the Universe, the Moon came into Earth’s proximity, and by a complex interplay of forces of gravity was brought within a geocentric orbit, very close to circular. But a catch of this kind is virtually impossible. In fact, scientists studying the origin of the Universe today have no acceptable theory to explain how the Earth-Moon system came into being. OUR HYPOTHESIS: The Moon is an artificial Earth satellite put into orbit around the Earth by some intelligent beings unknown to ourselves.
We refuse to engage in speculation about who exactly staged this unique experiment, which only a highly developed civilization was capable of.
The Moon (Latin: luna) is the only natural satellite of the Earth,[d][7] and the fifth largest satellite in the Solar System. It is the largest natural satellite of a planet in the Solar System relative to the size of its primary,[e] having 27% the diameter and 60% the density of Earth, resulting in 1⁄81 its mass. The Moon is the second densest satellite after Io, a satellite of Jupiter.
The Moon is in synchronous rotation with Earth, always showing the same face with its near side marked by dark volcanic maria that fill between the bright ancient crustal highlands and the prominent impact craters. It is the brightest object in the sky after the Sun, although its surface is actually very dark, with a reflectance similar to that of coal. Its prominence in the sky and its regular cycle of phases have, since ancient times, made the Moon an important cultural influence on language, calendars, art and mythology. The Moon’s gravitational influence produces the ocean tides and the minute lengthening of the day. The Moon’s current orbital distance, about thirty times the diameter of the Earth, causes it to appear almost the same size in the sky as the Sun, allowing it to cover the Sun nearly precisely in total solar eclipses. This matching of apparent visual size is a coincidence. Earlier in Earth’s history, the Moon was closer to Earth, and had an apparent visual size greater than that of the Sun.

Plugging your phone into a charger should be pretty safe to do. It should fill your phone with electricity, not malware. But researchers from Georgia Institute of Technology have produced fake chargers they've named Mactans that do more than just charge your phone: they install custom, malicious applications onto iPhones.
Their bogus chargers—which do, incidentally, charge the phone—contain small computers instead of mere transformers. The iPhone treats these computers just as it does any other computer, but instead of just charging, it responds to USB commands. It turns out that the iPhone is very trusting of USB-attached computers; as long as the iPhone is unlocked (if only for a split second) while attached to a USB host, then the host has considerable control over the iPhone.
The researchers used their USB host to install an app package onto any iPhone that gets plugged in. iOS guards against installation of arbitrary applications with a strict sandboxing system, a feature that has led to the widespread practice of jailbreaking. This attack doesn't need to jailbreak, however.
Instead, it takes advantage of the system that Apple devised to permit developers to deploy applications to their own devices for testing purposes. Deploying such applications requires the creation of a provisioning profile. A provisioning profile identifies a specific phone and a specific application, allowing the named application to run on the named device. These provisioning profiles are generated by Apple and installed over USB.
The malicious charger interrogates the attached iPhone to read its UDID, the unique ID number that identifies a particular iPhone. It then sends the UDID to Apple's Web page that generates provisioning profiles. With the provisioning profile in hand, it can deploy the provisioning profile to the phone, and then deploy the malicious app identified by the provisioning profile.
Though the malicious app is still sandboxed, it doesn't have to pass through Apple's normal application vetting process, and so it can still do plenty of useful malicious things. The demonstration showed a malicious Facebook app that replaced the real Facebook app with a trojaned version. The trojaned version could then do things like take screenshots of the iPhone whenever passwords are being entered, and simulate key presses to, for example, dial numbers without user intervention.
There are limits to this kind of attack. As well as requiring the phone's screen to be unlocked, the generation of the provisioning profile requires the attacker to have a valid developer account. Each developer account can only generate provisioning profiles for 100 different phones, and there's no facility to remove a UDID that's associated with a developer's account.
This will tend to limit the attacks to specific ones against individual users, rather than widespread, indiscriminate attacking. In principle, a Mactans charger could be made to look identical to an official Apple charger; a suitably motivated attacker could replace proper chargers with the malicious chargers to attack targets' phones.
Apple has responded to this research by making the iPhone a little less trusting. Instead of trusting any USB host that's connected to, iOS 7 will prompt users the first time, asking if they want to trust the currently connected computer. This notification will immediately disclose that a charger isn't a charger at all, but in fact a Mactans-like device.

iOS 7 devices are a little bit more suspicious than their iOS 6 brethren.

BitTorrent Inc. Escapes Disaster as Source Code and Financials Leak

uTorrent parent company BitTorrent Inc has escaped a disaster of epic proportions after its code and financial information were exposed to the world earlier this year. The San Francisco company reportedly failed to secure its Jenkins panel which allowed passers-by to take control over pretty much the entire company. The person who reported the vulnerability has now chosen to go public with his findings after becoming upset by BitTorrent Inc’s failure to recognize his good deed.
With its uTorrent and BitTorrent mainline clients, BitTorrent Inc caters to more than 150 million monthly users.
Considering the size of this massive userbase, one doesn’t need a lot of imagination to come up with several disaster scenarios that might unfold should a malicious third-party gain access to all these clients. But that is exactly what could’ve happened earlier this year if it wasn’t for “MentaL”, an admin at RaGEZONE.
This Spring, MentaL was looking for a hosting provider for a friend when he stumbled upon the Jenkins panel of BitTorrent Inc. This turned out to be the gateway to a treasure trove of highly confidential information that could have destroyed the company if it had landed in the wrong hands.
“They forgot to set a user/pass to the admin panel, that had access to github from a master account. Github accounts had usernames and passwords that were linked to everything,” MentaL told TorrentFreak.

Luckily for BitTorrent Inc, MentaL wasn’t out to do harm. He contacted the company in May to report his findings and was duly thanked and promised a reward in return. BitTorrent Inc. quickly secured the Jenkins panel but to MentaL’s surprise no reward was forthcoming.
MentaL says that when he contacted BitTorrent Inc he was treated rudely and was eventually offered a $500 reward for which he should send an invoice. MentaL was insulted by this “low” offer and instead of taking it he decided to share his findings with the rest of the world. While he never copied any of the files available through the panel, he did take screenshots which show how severe the “leak” was.
Through the open Jenkins panel anyone had access to the heart of the company, including financial details, user accounts and the source code to pretty much all released and unreleased software including uTorrent.
“Anyone who had the access I had would be able to steal the source code of all BitTorrent products and more,” MentaL told TorrentFreak.
“Truth be told, I had access to so much content that I was really unaware of what most of it would and could do! But one extreme scenario that I could have done hypothetically if I was some idiot would be to tweak the actual live build and push an update that could include a virus that would destroy all user content who installed the update,” he adds.

So, in theory, a malicious person could have updated millions of live torrent clients with viruses, or worse. In addition, it would be possible to reveal stacks of confidential documents including financial information and detailed job offerings.
“In regards to the financial documents, I only checked several and it included payments and balances to and from the company. Other documents I saw were job offers with introductory salaries that reached over $150,000 starting wage,” MentaL told us.
“It was quite extreme and shocking.”
Below is a screenshot of a letter that was sent to the Brazil consulate in Los Angeles. As MentaL has no intention of doing the company any permanent harm, the details of the letter have been redacted.

In another screenshot several source files of BitTorrent’s software and databases are visible. In addition, MentaL tells us that he had access to username and passwords for SQL databases. Needless to say, there are plenty of possibilities to exploit this kind of data for nefarious purposes.

The above clearly shows that BitTorrent Inc has narrowly escaped a massive disaster. Perhaps they could have been a bit more appreciative of the way MentaL reported the problems, as that would have saved the company from having the rather embarrassing mistake out in the open.
“I felt I wanted to share and express my annoyance regarding the matter. They make millions a year in ad revenue alone and I never released, tweaked, sent fake builds or nothing out to any user and I feel insulted,” MentaL concludes.

How One Hacker Hijacks Planes And Ships With $35 Antenna

It is entirely possible for criminals and terrorists to take control of the navigation systems of ships, planes, and other vehicles by just hacking into the GPS system. 

Todd Humphreys, a researcher from the University of Texas, has recently demonstrated how a classic hacking technique could be used to steer a yacht off course in the Mediterranean. Humphreys was able to steer the yacht off course by using a special antenna to create false GPS signals that fooled the GPS system on the 210-foot yacht into altering its course. The tech investigator was able to send the false signals to the yacht with a rig consisting of a laptop and an antenna.

Fox News and Britain’s Daily Mail newspaper reported that the rig Humphreys used cost less than $35 to build.

This is scary because somebody could use such false signals to fool an airplane into hitting a city or another plane. It could also be used to steer a ship off course, say steer an oil tanker onto a reef or a ship into an oil rig. That could create an environmental catastrophe such as the BP disaster in the Gulf of Mexico. It could also steer a cruise ship onto a reef or into shallow water or an area where the Navy is conducting gunnery tests.

Hacking Technique Highlighted, DHS Ignores It

What Humphreys used to hack into the GPS system was a classic hacking technique called “wardriving.” Wardriving has been around for years; it has often used to steal credit card information from retailers by hijacking Wi-Fi signals.
In the past, Humphreys has been able to hack drones like those used by the CIA by using a similar technique. Such drones are now being used for police and other purposes in the United States and tested on Air Force ranges. A terrorist could take control over such a drone and use it to attack U.S. citizens. It isn’t hard to imagine such technology being used to hijack planes or trains.
This is really scary because the Asiana Airlines Crash at San Francisco International Airport on July 6 occurred because pilots thought they were farther from the ground than they really were. It isn’t hard to imagine terrorists or a psychopath fooling a plane crew into thinking that the downturn of a major city was on the landing path to an airport and causing a plane to fly into a building.
The havoc that could be wreaked with this technology is incredible, and it isn’t that complex or exotic. Wardriving has been around for years. Humphreys has tried to get the Department of Homeland Security interested in this threat, but he’s been ignored. It seems they’re more interested in harassing children and grandmothers at airports.
Fortunately, Congressman Mike McCaul (R-Texas), the chairman of the House Committee on Home Security, is looking into this. Maybe we’ll get some action before a tragedy occurs. I just hope that the news coverage of Humphreys’ work doesn’t give the bad guys any ideas.

NASA ERASED APOLLO 11 TAPES!?

In case you missed the uproarious Apollo 11 landing celebrations (and I did too, the silence was deafening), you might be interested in this story that was shared with me by co-author Dr. Scott De Hart. And this is one to read closely, folks:

“‘I don’t think anyone in the NASA organization did anything wrong,’ Nafzger says. ‘I think it slipped through the cracks, and nobody’s happy about it.’”

Slipped through the cracks? I’m sorry, but is NASA like a badly built Dutch dike(and by the way, the Dutch don’t build bad dikes) with more leaks than the New Sauron Agency (NSA)? I doubt it.
Given Never A Straight Answer’s (NASA’s) history, I’m not buying this one for a moment. In fact, for readers of Richard Hoagland’s and Mike Bara’s Dark Mission, this will sound rather like the episode of Ken Johnston being ordered to destroy Apollo 11 pictures, which, fortunately, he didn’t.
So the question arises, why the destruction of humanity’s first interplanetary expedition? There are, of course, the hoaxers, who maintain we never went. But more recently, NASA has requested the lunar landing sites be “historical zones”, in effect, no fly zones for anyone else going to the Moon. Now, obviously, if you’ve hoaxed things, you wouldn’t want the hoax exposed. But I suspect that the real reason is that we went, but that rockets are not the whole story.
Now we have another admission in this article:

“…some experts knew that the lunar camera was capable of doing better.
“‘It was better. We knew it was better,”‘says Stan Lebar, who worked at the Westinghouse Electric Corporation and led the team that designed and built the lunar camera.
“He knew that engineers on the ground did preserve the lunar camera’s odd-format footage by recording it onto tapes. So a few years ago, Lebar and some colleagues decided to go back and look at those tapes, to see if today’s digital technology could use them to produce a higher-quality video”

Thus, the possibility arises that more was seen on some of those tapes, than we were shown. And it raises yet another possibility, and that is, that more was said on on those tapes than we ever heard.
And there were dirty deals made, if you believe the scenario I speculated on in SS Brotherhood of the Bell: a little advanced technology in return for…exclusive access to whatever was found “up there.”
So now the tapes are missing because, we’re told, they were reused for satellite data during a “critical period” when NASA was short of magnetic tape!?
Uh huh. Granted, it’s an old story, from 2006, but let’s face it, something is going on out there, and it is having a huge impact on what’s happening down here.
In any case, I don’t know about you, but I’m not buying the “critical shortage of magnetic tapes” either. Someone is still covering up what happened on the Moon, and I strongly suspect this is why so many other nations have sent satellites up there to “see for themselves,” because NASA isn’t talking, and neither, really, are the Russians.
