CHINA INVESTIGATING AUTOMATED HIGH FREQUENCY TRADING AS STOCKS SLUMP  ~ hehe folks what do ya think IS gonna happen when the BRICS ....find OUT ..."our elites" R fuck~in 'round wit "their" (BRICS)  ....   markets   Hummm

If you've been watching China's stock market, you'll be interested in this article shared by Mr. S.D.:
China cracks down on automated trading
While the article is suggestively short on words and information, I strongly suspect there's a lot lurking between, and behind, the lines. Consider these statements:
In its latest bid to restore calm to the domestic stock markets, Chinese authorities confirmed Friday that they'd started investigating automated trading practices and their role in the continued sliding of many shares.
China's two main stock markets have lost about 30 percent of their value since mid-June, with authorities bending over backwards to prevent a further sell-off.
The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) said it was looking into institutions and individuals and their role in program or automated trading, which it said had amplified big fluctuations on the stock market.
The practice of computerized automated trading typically involves transactions being carried out at high speed on a large number of stocks.
To my mind - and herewith today's high octane speculation - this is tantamount to saying that while China's markets were "correcting", that correction itself was being over-driven by computerized trading, and that additionally, the Chinese government may suspect that some, perhaps even a large, part of this activity may have been very deliberate. Clearly the Chinese suspect something, for as the article also states later, certain specific trading accounts have been suspended, and this can only mean that the Chinese government suspects that their markets have been subject to deliberate manipulation. The real question, should this prove to be the case, is: Deliberately manipulated by whom? and why? The obvious suspect would be "the USA," but I think this might be simplistic.
One may look at the Chinese market slump in two ways, first as a "correction" which has been amplified by the presence of high frequency computer trading...
...or, to use the expressive analytical term of former HUD Assistant Secretary Catherine Austin Fitts, one may view it as an example of "harvesting," along the classic lines of pump and dump, in this case, a pump and dump of China's equity markets, driven, aided, and abetted by certain HFT traders, who in all likelihood are simply acting as the agents or middlemen for hidden players.
Given the fact that the BRICSA nations are driving a parallel clearing and investment banking structure, and given that China has established its own Asia Infrastructure Development Bank, my speculation also includes the possibility that the Chinese know about this hidden financial system and harvesting mechanism, and hence, their current reticence to be more forthcoming about their investigations. This means, should my model be true, that we can predict that in the future, the BRICSA nations might start hinting openly about the existence of that hidden system.

Unraveling the Mysteries of Flight 11

AA Flight 11 CraftNorth Tower explosion
I’ve been working on an extensive blog post called “9/11 for Beginners.” Although my 2013 book Truth Is a Lonely Warrior has a long chapter on 9/11, I have not written a blog post on it, because so much good material is already available from other online sources.
However, since fresh insights and information have emerged in recent years, and because we can never really say too much about this devastating crime, I felt I should contribute what I can to the discussion, in hopes of awakening additional people.
In the course of writing, I discovered a single piece of research that is so thorough, objective and edifying that I believe I should devote a post to it. The research is contained in a forum thread called “Fog, Fiction and the Flight 11 Phone Calls.” The URL is http://www.letsrollforums.com/forum/forum/the-u-s-government-conspiracy-of-9-11/the-mystery-of-flights-11-77-175-93/29035-fog-fiction-and-the-flight-11-phone-calls.

The US King Dollar Has No Clothes. America’s “Toilet Paper Money”

Region:
cash 100
The conventional wisdom is that no other currency in the world can support the global bond market save the US$ Toilet Paper Money. Therefore, we cannot do without the US$ toilet paper money!
The so-called experts in economics, including the Nobel Laureates are always reciting the mantra of the global central banks led by the FED and the Bank of England (BOE) that the US$ Toilet Paper Money is indispensable to global monetary liquidity because it is the anchor of the global bond market, specially the US Treasury bonds.
Such is the accepted wisdom of the so-called wise men and women of global finance.
If truth be told, this “accepted financial wisdom” is a big lie!
In fact, the purported strength of the US$ is actually its weakest link, the Achilles Heel of the entire global financial system!
Why?
A bond is an acknowledgement of a debt. It is the glorified name of an “I.O.U.”
The present financial system is grounded on Debt.
The ridiculous situation is that, bond markets can only grow if there are more debts.
How can it be a good thing if there are more debts, debts which cannot be paid to sustain a bond market? But, the global big banks and central banks want more debts, because this is how banks make money. They earned interests on the debts they create. There are so much debt that countries are literally drowning in debt and the leading debtor is the US. Therefore, it follows that the US bond market is the world’s largest bond market!
Yet, you are brainwashed to accept that the US I.O.U.s (bonds) are the “best security” and you should hold on to the US$ toilet paper money for dear life!
Another mantra is Debt=Money (counterfeit money) or in the words of the bankers, Credit=Money (counterfeit money). Why are such monies “counterfeit”? US$ toilet paper money as well as all fiat money are strictly counterfeit monies as it has no intrinsic value save the value (the number) stated on the piece of paper i.e. US$100, €100, £100, ¥100 etc. and must be accepted by the force of law (i.e. Legal Tender Laws), without which it would be treated as useless paper.
In this mad, mad world of toilet paper money, these counterfeit monies are created out of thin air, digitally by the click of the computer mouse of a bank’s computer. A small amount of the global paper money is printed by the central banks. The coins in your pocket are minted. They are to facilitate cash transactions. But, the bulk of the counterfeit monies sloshing around the world through the global payment system are all digital monies, mere numbers in the computer screens.
What is the Big Con that fooled the entire world when the US became the undisputed Superpower after the Second World War?
It is the stupid mantra that the US Treasury Bond (debt) is the “best security” and the “ultimate monetary safe haven” in the world!
Pause and think critically. Have you ever paused and thinked long and hard on the above financial mantra?
You couldn’t have been thinking straight all these years. Your mind and your thinking skills were locked in LIMBO, suspended from reality so that global banks can keep you in perpetual debt slavery. For if you had exercise your brain and using only common sense, you would have rejected the mantra and realised that the entire global financial system is a global PONZI scheme!
How can a debt/bond (specifically US debts/bond) be ever considered as the “Best Security”?
A owes B US$100,000.00, the debt repayable in a year’s time. But, B is in need of cash and wants to borrow US$100,000 from you. He has no security other than the “I.O.U. Note” from A (i.e. the bond). Would you lend US$100,000 to B secured by a mere promise by A that he will repay B the US$100,000 in a year’s time in the event that B fails to pay the debt he owes you?
Obviously, if A is a multi-millionaire and is not known for defaulting on his debts, you may well consider accepting A’s I.O.U. as a security for the loan you are considering giving to B. Even then, it is a BIG “If”!
The issue hinges on “Credibility” and “Confidence”.
The US is the biggest debtor in the entire world. It has been acknowledged by one and all that it is a physical impossibility for the US to repay all its debts, domestic and foreign. It has also defaulted many times, the most serious was in 1971, when the US under President Nixon reneged on the promise that the US$ is redeemable in Gold at the agreed rate of US$35 per oz. of gold. The US printed so much money that it did not have enough gold to support the exchange rate of US$35 per oz. of gold.
The US has not been able to repay any of its debts and the interests that have accrued on the debts since that awful day. All the US has been doing is to “print” digitally computer monies to make payments. Alternatively, the US issues “I.O.U.s” (i.e. bonds) to creditors such a China, Japan etc. and the proceeds would be applied to pay off the old debts when they become due. Old debts are replaced by new debts! Whenever there is a shortfall in the purchase of US bonds, the US would negotiate with creditors to “Roll-Over” the overdue debt and be granted an extension of time to repay the existing debt and accrued interests.
Given the above, how can any sane, reasonable and right thinking person classify such debts/bonds as described above as “the best security” for the creation of more debts?
In the technical jargon of the Bank of International Settlements (BIS) these toilet papers (i.e. worthless I.O.U.s) are considered “Tier 1 Capital” (i.e. the best) in determining a bank’s capital ratio and therefore the bank’s credit worthiness. The more Tier 1 Capital, the more credit-worthy is the bank!
We can conclude that by the simple labelling of the US Treasury bond as the “best security”, “the most liquid asset” and the “monetary safe-haven” the global financial elites were able to instil confidence in US toilet paper money. Through this propaganda, the FED and its global financial allies were able to create a “demand for the dollar”. When this artificial confidence is coupled with the imposition that trade, especially trade in crude, must be denominated in US$, all of us, nations and people were made captives of the US$ Serfdom!
If the US bonds were so sacrosanct, how can the global financial harlots explain the total collapse of all the Global Too Big To Fail Banks during the 2008 Global Financial Tsunami and US$ trillions have to be “printed” digitally by the FED to bail out these banks?
Likewise, given the above, how can any sane, reasonable and right thinking person consider US I.O.U.s “Safe Havens” during times of financial crisis?
When an individual is unable to repay his/her debts, he/she is deemed a bankrupt and would be declared as such by the Court on an application by the creditor. Likewise, when a company is unable to pay its debts, it is deemed insolvent (a corporate term for bankruptcy) and a creditor can apply to the court to have the company would up i.e. liquidated (sent to the corporate grave in Layman’s language).
The US is a bankrupt State and would be considered a “Banana Republic” and treated as “Pariah State” if it has no nuclear weapons to blackmail countries to continue to support its broken system. It is a failed state!
Presently, we are witnessing a new phenomenon – “Sovereign Debt Default”. Most developed countries are in this state of financial mess. Greece is a typical example, but the others are barely above the waterline and when these countries get tired from having to bob up and down to gasp a mere mouthful of “financial air”, they would drown very quickly.
Make no mistake. This is the present scenario and there is nothing anyone can do about it. The central banks’ tool kit is empty of financial tools – Quantitative Easing (QEs) and Zero Interest Rate Policy (ZIRP) were the last tools and they were blunt instruments!
The Global Reserve Currency (US$) was nothing more than a financial propaganda tool to blackmail countries not aligned to the “Soviet Camp” during the Cold War to accept and submit to US hegemony. Even the Soviet Union had to use the US$ when trading outside the Warsaw Pact nations. Such was the stranglehold of the US$ in world trade, but it was based on “pure propaganda” and it did work for a while because nations and people were blinded by so much fear during the era of the Cold War that they were not thinking rationally.
This is not the case today.
There is no longer the need for a single global reserve currency.
However, the demise of the US$ would not be immediate as the financial elites would fight to the bitter end to ensure the US$ financial hegemony. Markets would be manipulated to create financial and or currency turmoils thereby provoking fear and a “flight to safety” to the US$ and US$ assets on the basis of the propaganda lie that the US$ / US$ assets are the best “monetary safe-havens”.
In fact, there is no need for a single global reserve currency. Countries ought to trade in their respective currencies, free from the artificial shackles imposed by the single global reserve currency. The demise of the single global reserve currency would do away with the volatility and the exorbitant privilege given to the US arising from the manipulation of the currency and interest rates markets by the FED and its financial allies.
The US$800 Trillion derivative casino would collapse and of course all the Global Too Big To Fail Banks would be bankrupted and the global financial system shaken to its very core. But, the period of severe pain and adjustment would be short. When every nation realise that there is no need for a single global reserve currency, confidence would return with a vengeance and global trade would flourish as the cost of doing global business would be reduced drastically. Just do the maths!
If there is a role for the IMF’s Special Drawing Rights (SPRs) it would be of limited use, confined to specific short-term circumstances where one or two nations suffer temporary liquidity problems. Even if such an event would occur, it is envisaged that Regional Banks set up for such purposes by member countries of a region would step in even before the need for IMF to intervene.
Future crisis, if any would be regional and not global as Regional Banking mechanisms would provide the firewall that would prevent any contagion beyond its borders. This is already taking place with the establishment of the BRICS Development Bank and the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) by China and supported by over 30 countries as founding members.
Welcome to the Brave New World – a world free from the shackles of a Single Global Reserve Currency!
A world free from US financial hegemony!

Monsanto’s Bt Cotton Directly Linked to Indian Farmer Suicides in Rain-Fed Areas, Scientific Study

Region:
CottonPlant
The Study finds farmers driven to suicide from increased costs of not being able to save seeds and increased chemical inputs, coupled with inadequate access to agronomic information Dr Eva Sirinathsinghji
Rain-fed cotton yield dependent on weather not pest attacks, Bt technology futile
Using physiologically based demographic modelling (PBDM) methods to assess the dynamics of weather and pests on cotton yield, this latest study led by Professor Andrew Gutierrez at University of California, Berkeley [2] calls into question the relevancy of Bt cotton, considering that the main target of the Bt cotton, the pink bollworm, only attacks irrigated but not rain-fed cotton.
The PBDM method, unlike previous studies that focus on econometric analysis of Bt cotton yields, looks at the holistic biological and ecological underpinnings of crop yield. Using it to simulate prospective yields of rain-fed non-Bt cotton from 1980 to 2010 and its relationship to pink bollworm dynamics, the model provides a historical baseline measurement of the Indian cotton situation prior to the 1970s green revolution, where pink bollworm was the major pest of Indian cotton. Since the 1970s, insecticide technology has led to ecological destruction including outbreaks of formerly secondary pests, insecticide resistance and damage to human health. This was followed by Bt technology that has also had negative effects on Indian cotton agriculture.
Inputting parameters on cotton growth from field experiments in India, the researchers estimated the daily effects of water stress on cotton phenology, growth and yield formation, predicting the daily growth dynamic of leaves, stems and roots as well as fruit and yield across 4 states (Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat and Andhra Padresh) where most of the suicides are occurring. The model was then run using daily weather conditions (from the Climate Forecast System Re-analysis of the United States for Environmental Prediction). Pink bollworm dynamics were modelled by capturing the phenology of dormancy induction as regulated by increased temperature and photoperiod, and spring emergence from diapause as a function of temperature.
The results show that rain-fed cotton’s protection from pink bollworm arises from the timing of their fruiting season. Irrigated cotton has two fruiting cycles in a season, which is synchronised to pink bollworm emergence from diapause and development of the next generation larvae, while rain-fed cotton only has one cycle per season, fruiting only after the new adult bollworms have emerged (Figure 1). This makes Bt technology irrelevant for rain-fed cotton.
Instead, the timing, distribution and quantity of monsoon rains is the main determinant of yield; as well as other factors such as planting density and mean daily temperature. As shown in Figure 2, rainfall in Yaratval, Maharashtra correlates with yield. These results led the authors to conclude that in low yield areas with high variability, Bt cotton does not provide assurances for yield of rain-fed cotton. And, short season non-Bt cotton is a viable option for both irrigated and rain-fed areas.

Bt cotton does not reduce insecticide use, increases cost burden

Bt crops were introduced to India in 2002 and by 2012 there were more than 1128 Bt hybrid varieties grown on 92 % of cotton growing areas [3, 4]. They are promoted on the basis of reducing pesticide use but despite initial declines, insecticide use in 2013 reached 2000 levels while yields have plateaued nationally and farmer suicides increased in some areas [5].  Industry has also promoted the use of insecticides and farmers, in order to avoid crop failure, likely applied increasing quantities of pesticides that do not boost yields but may instead increase ecological disruption and risk of crop failure. Industry has exploited this information gap to sell their Bt crops and insecticides. With the sustained use of insecticides added on to the costs of expensive Bt cotton seeds, farmers have been pushed into further economic distress.
Computing the average profits per hectare in rain-fed cotton (revenues from sale of seed cotton minus average costs of seed, insecticide and other production costs) the study highlights the drastic increases in costs now faced by farmers (see Figure 3). Prior to hybrid varieties, costs were nil to low (0-9 rupees per kg), but as fertile local varieties became unavailable, farmers increasingly bought F1 hybrid seeds that for Bt varieties cost an average 2111 rupees per kg. The average yields in the 4 states studied ranged from 300 – 1 200 kg per hectare, with low yields in Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka, and roughly half of the total area studied across the four states averaging less than 5 000 kg of lint cotton per hectare. Production costs rise from 8 % of total revenues for those averaging yields of 1 320 kg ha-1 to 21.1 % for those averaging 500 kg ha-1, resulting in a net daily income of less than 2 US dollars a day. For farmers getting only 300 kg ha-1, production costs increase to 42.2 % of total revenues, resulting in only 1 dollar a day of net income. Costs as a proportion of revenue decrease exponentially with yield. These data show that low yields and high variability are substantial sources of risk, exacerbated by the high costs of Bt cotton seed and continued use of insecticide.

Suicides driven by economic distress, exacerbated by Bt cotton

Revisiting the raw annual suicide data for four rain-fed, cotton growing states (Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra) during the period 2001-2010, the authors found 80 607 of 549 414 suicides were farmers, 87 % of these were males with the numbers peaking in the 30-44 age class. The authors used statistical regression analysis to assess the relationship between the suicides to each state’s averages of proportion of area seeded to rain-fed cotton, average farm size, cotton growing area, area of Bt cotton, proportion of area with Bt cotton, and simulated average yield per hectare that includes the effects of weather. They found that suicides decrease with increasing farm size and yield, but increase with the area under Bt cotton cultivation. As the authors’ state: “Farm size and yields are measures of poverty and risk, while the increase in Bt area is a surrogate for high costs of Bt technology adoption and continued use of insecticide.”

Previous studies do not take account of holistic agro-ecological impacts on yield

This study disputes many previous studies that have claimed increased yields as a result of Bt cotton. Bt cotton is not a yield enhancing technology, but is instead designed to protect the yield potential of the crop from damage by some lepidopteran pests like the pink bollworm. These studies fail to take into account the fact that government subsidies for fertiliser during 2003-2011 increased approximately 5-fold, that data from irrigated and rain-fed cotton were conflated in the average, and that agronomic practices were improving e.g. planting densities. Further, there has been an upwards trend in national yields from 1975-2007. Studies supporting these claims attribute rises in yield from 2004 to Bt cotton, as in [6] for example. However, as shown in this latest study, adoption of Bt cotton was only 8 % in 2004 while in 2005 it was 46 %, but the post-2004 yield data appear  to be on the same upwards trend as before Bt cotton introduction.
Previous studies in environments ecologically disrupted by the insecticide technologies of the 1970s green revolution have also often been used as the control to which Bt cotton has been compared. Studies in ecologically disturbed environments tend to be limited to isolated small plots instead of in a larger landscape and historical framework. They are known to bias results against untreated checks, inputs such as fertilizer and water are often not controlled, and industry data have been used to predict unrealistic estimates of potential yield [7-9]. Critiques of such studies have found that other factors explain the purported yield increases attributed to Bt cotton, including “placement bias” of irrigation and “good growing conditions” [10].

The changing face of Indian cotton colonialism

The colonisation of India’s cotton originates long before the Green revolution and the introduction of GM crops by large multinationals. India was once the global capital of textiles, and had been growing diploid native “Desi” cotton for 5 000 years without synthetic inputs. During this time cotton was a target of strong selection and adaptation by Indian farmers. It was not until the British colonisation of India however that the practices of cotton cultivation were dramatically altered as Britain drew on cotton as a raw material to fuel the first half of its industrial revolution. From 1790, new world cottons were introduced, and later, during the 1970s green revolution, F1 hybrid varieties that required a high input of insecticide and fertilisers.  Ecological disruption followed due to the destruction of natural pest enemies, which ended in the resurgence of the pink bollworm, as well as outbreaks of new secondary pests, and insecticide resistance. On top of all that, the chemicals affected the health of both people and the environment [11-13]. As a result, India saw its peak pesticide use in the 1990s, reaching 75 000 tons of active ingredient, 80 % of which were insecticides, with 40-50 % of the total applied to cotton [14]. Outbreaks of previously minor pests such as polyphagous bollworm, whitefly and others as a result of organophosphate and pyrethroids became more damaging than the pink bollworm. Insecticide resistance also became a problem, with the defoliatorS. litura in the 1980s.
Now, India faces the latest attempts by multinationals to continue on this path with the introduction of Bt crops, which have again proven to be a total disaster for the people of India, but a success for corporations in squeezing out every rupee of profit. The authors conclude that seven factors appear to have influenced the economic distress underlying the suicides, five of which are at the hands of industry:
(1) Weather-related intrinsic low average yields and variability;
(2) Increasing insecticide use before 2002 that increased costs and yield losses due to ecological disruption and induced pests;
(3)  High costs of Bt cotton seeds, fertilizers, insecticide, and ecological disruption and crop loss after the introduction of Bt cotton;
(4) Crop losses due to ill adapted and possibly ineffective Bt varieties;
(5) Increased usury costs to fund the new technologies;
(6) Suboptimal planting densities;
(7) The uncertain effects of weather (e.g., drought or excessive rain as occurred in 2013).

Bt Cotton fails in Burkina Faso, crop being phased out

Cotton is also a major crop in Burkina Faso, with cotton farmers representing almost one sixth of all rural households in 2006, making it the largest employment group in the country [15]; 30 % of the GDP comes from the industry, with rural economies largely shaped by seasonal cotton yield and market price. Bt cotton was first commercially grown in 2008 and now accounts for an estimated 73 % of total seed cotton production [16]. This is about to change however, as the cotton private sector decided to start phasing out Bt cotton, reducing its share of cotton production by 20 % in the next 3 years. The Bt cotton has earned a reputation for poor quality due to shorter fibre lengths and poor yields. These problems on top of increased costs of Bt seeds, as seen in India are exacerbating farmer’s impoverishment, driving some farmers to sell their lands [17].

To conclude

The publication of thorough holistic analysis of the Indian cotton system is important for understanding what is leaving farmers without any hope of sustaining a livelihood for themselves and their families. Alternative systems such as organic farming have already been shown to produce superior yields [18]. Bt cotton, instead of bringing farmers out of debt, is fuelling the problem and should be replaced by other short-season, local and organically grown varieties.

A new study directly links the crisis of suicides among Indian farmers to Bt cotton adoption in rain-fed areas, where most of India’s cotton is grown. Many fall into a cycle of debt from the purchase of expensive, commercialised GM seeds and chemical inputs that then fail to yield enough to sustain farmers’ livelihoods (see [1] Farmer Suicides and Bt Cotton Nightmare Unfolding in India,SiS 45).

The Hidden Meaning of True Detective Season 2

This season's tagline suggests death may begin in this life, prior to actual death, and so with life.

“All the most powerful ideas in history go back to archetypes. This is particularly true of religious ideas, but the central concepts of science, philosophy, and ethics are no exception to this rule. In their present form they are variants of archetypal ideas, created by consciously applying and adapting these ideas to reality. For it is the function of consciousness not only to recognize and assimilate the external world through the gateway of the senses, but to translate into visible reality the world within us.” -Carl Gustav Jung, “The Structure of the Psyche” (1927), in Collected Works Vol. 8, The Structure and Dynamics of the Psyche, P. 342
Nick Pizolatto’s second season of True Detective was quite a blend, spicing and saucing us with influences that ranged from classic of neo-noir like Chinatown, Mulholland Drive, Lost Highway and Twin Peaks, The Black Dhalia and a dash of Weekend at Bernie’s with a side of CHiPs. In the midst of all this homage, however, we do find traces of the same elements of subtle occult and esoteric elements, almost as disturbingly intense as last season’s psychodrama. In this essay and analysis, we will examine and highlight those elements ignored and unknown to the mass of online critics, whose state school “arts” education long ago disabled any semblance of ability to recognize any meaning or significance beyond trite, boring gender obsessions.  Indeed, this season’s disregard for politically correct absurdities is welcomed and likely a source of much of the critical opprobrium.
Last season’s intention I argued was to capture the essence of the soul’s grappling with the forces of darkness and light in a world where it seems darkness owns the day. Even a nihilistic Nietzschean Übermensch can be tamed, and the heart’s senses rekindled anew, as we witnessed Rust Cohle’s transformation and Marty’s moral cowardice. Here things get much more complex, with a variety of characters and a labyrinthine plot of crooked cops, diamonds, human trafficking, drugs and gangs, big land deals, elite sex parties and mobster moves. Of particular interest to myself was the surprising fact that even Vanity Fair was willing to go down the rabbit hole in JaysAnalysis fashion, correctly likening the secretive, full-moon sex parties of the elite to their most obvious Northern California analogue, the infamous Bohemian Grove Club. (Although the rumors surrounding Bohemian Grove don’t involve gorgeous Eastern European women.)
Frank's all-seeing eye approaches the apex of the pyramid, yet as a small-time mobster making his way, fails to reach the top.
Frank’s all-seeing eye approaches the apex of the pyramid, yet as a small-time mobster making his way, fails to reach the top, as revealed in the title sequence.
Each character’s name is also significant, where Frank Semyon (Russian for Simon) means I would speculate “frankly, God has heard.” It also might relate to the vice of simony, or selling spiritual things for money. In either case, Frank’s attachment to money, for his noble goal of having offspring ends up being the end itself, since what was supposed to be a means becomes the unfortunate end, as Frank dies in an arid, landless desert. Irony is apparent here, since Frank is the one who poisoned the California land to ensure farmers would move away providing ease of access for his rail corridor investment.
Season 2’s focus was both hermetic, yet straightforward. Each of our main characters will face the future successfully only insofar as they allow the relationships to their archetypes in the nuclear family cloud or ruin their present relations. Notions of paternity, progeny and seed dominate, with the phallus taking the center stage from last season’s anal focus. For Frank Semyon (Vince Vaughn), the ability to have children to pass on his budding mobster empire to as inheritance, to have land, is the ultimate goal, yet he finds himself impotent through erectile issues. Frank, we discover, was abused as a child, beaten and left for dead, locked in a dank basement he ponders may have actually been his tomb. As we will see with Ray, Frank is correct in his pillow talk musings, that his life is a dream, as if he is dead, all is “paper mache.” The esoteric theme for season 2 will be that this life is death, and death is entrance into the waking life.
For Ray Velcoro (Colin Farrell), the uncertainty of the biological paternity of his son mirrors his own drunk father’s failures, as Ray takes on “the sins of the fathers,” as they pass on to the sons. Lost in his own mentally-constructed prison, Ray struggles to maintain his sanity amidst a haze of booze, pot and coke, in the hopes he can gain custody of his pudgy, soft son. Ray’s disastrous relationship with his possible son and wife are disastrous due to his own mistake in seeking inside information on his wife’s rapist. Linking up with Semyon and going on bad information, Ray takes justice into his own hands and murders the wrong thug, leading to a downward spiral of more abuse, more outbursts and emotional train wrecks that bring Ray to the edge of self-imposed death.
Ray Velcoro seated in a shot reminiscent of Rust Cohle from season 1.
Ray Velcoro seated in a shot reminiscent of Rust Cohle from season 1.
Ray’s name is Raymond, which signifies “wise protector” in German, and certainly Ray exemplifies this virtue, yet his last name betrays his fault, the strange modern artifact of “velcro,” which is an artifact of synthetic attachment. Ray is attached like velcro to his own past traumas that are largely self-inflicted. As a man of the law like his own father, Ray unfortunately became compromised (like his policeman father) and began a side project of working as Frank’s secret inside the force tough guy. Leading a double life, Ray is never able to reconcile this doubleminded double identity, as he edges closer and closer to death with each episode. In fact, he even briefly crosses the bridge into oblivion when he is shot with riot shells and passes into the aether, conversing with his father about how, exactly he will die in the tall trees as Conway Twitty wails “The Rose” in full 70s glitz. One of the keys to this season will be this scene, with Ray’s father telling him to wake up, in concert with the lyrics (more on this below).
Bezzerides regresses to her childlike alter and sees her rapist.
Bezzerides regresses to her childlike alter and sees her rapist in a drugged, Fantasia-like state.
Antigone Bezzerides (Rachel McAdams) was also abused as a child by her creepy hippy commune father’s Mansonesque vagabond cohort, snatched away for days in a VW van and molested in the woods. Hardened by suppressed abuse, locked away in her unconscious mind, Ani’s rough and tough exterior masks a voracious sexual appetite that shocks and startles her average male partners, leading to her own interest in porn as she simultaneously struggles to swat raid porn pushers, lecture her sister on sexual ethics and dismiss both her lovers on the force. Ani’s relationship to her father determines her course, as her inner anger at the molestation is placed on her father’s below lackluster parental performance. Seeking solace in bizarre new age spirituality, Ani’s father is distant and removed, like each of the other main characters.  The subtle references to Carlos Castenada and the Chessani family’s preference for psychedelics by the creepy plastic surgeon suggest the inner shamanic journey, which each character will be forced to embark upon, as a contrast to last season’s outer worlds focused metaphysics.
Like Sophocles’ play, Antigone has disowned her sister and ends up a stubborn heroine just like her Greek analogue. Ani’s sister is a direct parallel to Ismene, as both docile and beautiful, serving as Ani’s foil. Like Antigone in the play, Bezzerides defies the corruption of the state to honor the name of her son through Velcoro, meaning that unlike the ancient Antigone, she exits the cave of death. The interesting question here is how she exits the cave of death, which I read as her life previous to the conclusion of season 2. Only by facing the corrupt elite at the Eyes Wide Shut style orgy and gaining the information necessary to expose the criminal network could this be done, and in turn, that could only be achieved by posing as a prostitute herself, taking ecstasy and regressing to her childhood self where she sees the face of her molestor. The drug trip forces Ani to embark on an inner journey set to a dreamy Disney-like score that suggests a possible mind control programming that recalls something out of Fantasia, The Wizard of Oz or Alice in Wonderland.
Highway Patrol Officer Paul Woodrugh (Taylor Kitsch) also deals with sexual issues in the case of his suppressed homosexual desires manifest in his instances of drug bingeing and blacking out. A former vet and private security operative with the curiously titled firm Black Mountain, Paul is both tempted and repulsed by his former partner and war veteran lover. Paul is missing a father figure in his life, too, with a derelict gambling addict mother we discover was a former showgirl who admits she never wanted a child for career reasons. What all these character studies demonstrate is the immense damage absentee and abusive parenting can create, especially in the case of the role of the “missing male,” a trope I have highlighted many times, hearkening back to Odysseus and his journey.
Monarch butterflies in this case are significant, as representation of the process of transformation. As is often the case, for all 4 principal characters, trauma-based mind control appears, as all 4 are imprisoned to the
Monarch butterflies in this case are significant in reference to Paul Woodruff, as a representation of the process of transformation. As is often the case, for all 4 principal characters, trauma-based mind control appears, as all 4 are imprisoned to the “system” they serve, ultimately in their own minds.
Paul as a name of course recalls St. Paul, and just as the travelling evangelist longed to be on the road and forget his past life of persecution, so does Woodruff seek to remain a highway man. Implicated in a tabloid sex scandal involving a Hollywood actress who falsely accuses him of harassment, Paul’s assassin past as a veteran and member of Black Mountain Security never cease haunting him, with “Woodruff” being a quite obvious innuendo translating to rough wood. Unintentionally siring offspring, Woodruff is intent on “being a good man” to make up for his murderous past that inflicts severe PTSD. Like the other characters, the traumas they have experienced have resulted in split personalities in varying degrees, with only Ani successfully facing and overcoming her trauma. In this regard, season 2 is ultimately a retelling of Sophocles’ Atingone. Yet much more is at work still that should be explored.
Druidic rituals at the actual Bohemian Grove.
Druidic rituals at the actual Bohemian Grove.
Having explored the characters’ psyches, we look now to the plot details and imagery that constitute the esoteric backdrop to the show’s conspiracy-laced themes. Quite clearly the Bohemian Club and possibly even ritual sex magick are in the background, though this is only hinted at. The logo for the elite sex party features twin peaks with a moon in the background, and while we only see sex and drugs at the party, the land developer explicitly mentions that deals are best done “on a full moon.” The scene ends with a full moon visible as the camera fades, suggesting the possibility of cultic meaning behind the timing of the orgy. The locale of the party and Ani’s Guerneville Commune come close to the locale of Bohemian Grove, and the overt references to Twin Peaks impel us to remember the “owls are not what they seem.” (The owl of Bohemian Grove, that is). In fact, episode one shows “Mulholland Drive’s” street sign, as well as Ray talking into his audio recorder, channeling Agent Cooper’s disembodied Diane.
Echoing Lost Highway, the porn underground is tied into the corruption matrix of L.A.
Echoing Lynch’s Lost Highway, the porn underground is tied into the corruption matrix of L.A., shown in the opening sequence.
As mentioned, Ray’s aetherial dream sequence gives the ominous prophecy of his death through the sage figure of his own father, as he is instructed to “wake up,” from the dream. The dream has a double meaning, both to the literal dream, and the present life, which both Ray and Frank describe as death and a dream. Both characters are continuously aware of their dates with destiny, as the wheels of fortune decree the wages of their sins will be paid through opposition to the corruption they helped foster, paid in their own blood that is to be spilled on the land. Blood and soil here serve a redemptive, sacrificial purpose, since both men are murderers whose blood will spilled in return to atone for the havoc they wreaked.
As for California as the setting, the parallels to Polanski’s Chinatown also bear mentioning, since William Mulholland, a key figure in the development of California’s water system, plays into that fictional presentation of real-world corruption. The basis for Chinatown was the “California Water Wars” and the inside corruption on the part of elites who manufactured drought conditions to mask a massive water scam involving land deals. In True Detective season 2, the land deal figures prominently, where a land deal for a railway corridor with billions in state-funded subsidies operating as the boondoggle’s true treasure chest. Photos in the Vinci Mayor Chessani’s office show him colluding with Republican big wigs like the Bushes also suggest Bohemian Grove, since the Grove has tended to favor a more neo-conservative and corporate roster. Note that Ani’s would-be sex partner at the orgy is an “oil man.”  Could the timing of season 2 with California’s drought have a twilight language reference to Chinatown?  I suspect.
Bezzerides and Betty from Mulholland Drive.
Bezzerides and Betty from Lynch’s Mulholland Drive.
Also crucial in this season are the numerous images of Marian statues and “Santa Muerte,” specifically referenced more than once. Santa Muerte is the syncretistic worship of Mary as “Saint Death,” often associated with MS13, the Mexican Cartel responsible for Frank’s untimely demise. In season 2’s plot, MS13’s collusion with corrupt officialdom is made manifest in the Santa Muerte statue at Caspere’s sex pad. Along with dildos and numerous other fetish oddities, Caspere’s lavish abode is decidedly marked by the statue of “Saint Death.” We later learn the cartel was, in fact, running the drugs with the approval of corrupt cops that had also hired Black Mountain Security for the blackmailing of Woodruff. Black Mountain is a stand in for Blackwater and Blue Mountain, both of which have figured prominently in the last decade in connection to the debacles of Iraq and Benghazi. Indeed, it is even hinted the infamous LA riots may have been more than they appeared.
Mother's milk and sacrificial women.
Mother’s milk and sacrificial women. Velcoro investigates Caspere’s sex pad.
Hollywood is implicated, too, as the set for an apocalyptic film is the real location of the season’s killer, where unexpectedly a set photographer was involved in the child trafficking network having been nabbed with his sister during the riots.  As Caspere’s death is covered up, ready-made news footage (that recalls season 1) rolls out as other crooked politicians and officials step in to take over the vast land deal.  Stolen diamonds are the source of the troubles and the diamonds are of more import than appears on the surface.  In alchemy, the diamond is a representation of the self and the reconciliation of opposites.
Quarternary symbology, diamondlike.
Quarternary symbology, diamondlike.
M. L. Von Franz comments, “…The Self is symbolized with special frequency in the form of a stone…. The nuclear center, the Self, also appears as a crystal…. The crystal often symbolically stands for the union of extreme opposites – of matter and spirit.” (“The Process of Individuation,” in Man and his Symbols, ed. C. G. Jung).  The diamond’s four-sided geometry signifies our four main characters, and recalls the four elements of the ancient world.  Without proper transformation, the alchemical process results in disintegration and dissolution, and this is why only Bezzerides survives of the four, being the only one who overcame her personal trauma and changed as a result, becoming a mother through giving her love in union to another to Velcoro with the intent of producing offspring.  Carl Jung speaks of this as follows:
“In the Practice of Psychotherapy, Carl Jung discussed the archetypal underpinnings of love between people in terms of the rose: “The wholeness which is a combination of ‘I and you’ is part of a transcendent unity whose nature can only be grasped in symbols like the rose or the coniunctio (Conjunction).”
This is why the “rose” and “springtime” are mentioned numerous times in this season.  The turn of the seasons is also quaternary like the geometry of the diamond, divide into fours like our main characters.  Trapped in their own cyclical, spiraled, psychical prisons that echo Agent Cooper in Twin Peaks, Betty in Mulholland Drive or Fred in Lost Highway, the symbol of the rose is the signpost for exiting the winding, spiraled lost freeway of California fame that populate the opening title sequence.  If season 1 was the outer journey into metaphysical questions relating to the higher dimensions and portals, season 2 is the inner journey of the psyche and the dream state unconscious. As we read in Bette Middler’s song lyrics that characterize the narrative, it’s not just the transmission of seed in the sexual act, love is also about the transformation of the individual’s psyche throughout this life of death, in preparation for death, which is entrance into real life.  It’s the “dream afraid of waking that never takes a chance,” in the case of Woodruff, Velcoro and Semyon, and for Bezzerides as Antigone, the seed of life will blossom into the rose of her new life, both in her psyche and in her offspring.
Some say love, it is a river that drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor that leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger an endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower and you, it’s only seed
It’s the heart, afraid of breaking that never learns to dance
It’s the dream, afraid of waking that never takes the chance
It’s the one who won’t be taken who cannot seem to give
And the soul, afraid of dying that never learns to live
When the night has been too lonely and the road has been too long
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter far beneath the winter snow
Lies the seed that with the sun’s love, in the spring becomes the rose

YOU TELL ME: PRESIDENT SIGNS EXECUTIVE ORDER FOR WORLD’S FASTEST SUPER-COMPUTER

So many of your sent me this article, along with your own high octane speculations and insights, that I have to share it with a wider audience and, hopefully, spark some intriguing commentary and discussion as to what it might mean:
Obama Wants the US to Build the World’s Fastest Supercomputer
Now, in order to jump start this thinking process, consider only the huge implications of these statements:
Supercomputers are at the heart of a huge number of important scientific and defense research projects. They’re used by aerospace engineers to model planes and weapons, and by climatologists to predict the the near-term impact of hurricanes and the long-term effects of climate change. Researchers involved in the White House’s Precision Medicine initiative believe exaflop speed supercomputers could aid the creation of personalized drugs, while the European Commission’s Human Brain Project hopes they will help unlock the secrets of the human brain.
Several government agencies, most notably the Department of Energy, have been deeply involved in the development of supercomputers over the last few decades, but they’ve typically worked separately. The new initiative will bring together scientists and government agencies such as the Department of Energy, Department of Defense and the National Science Foundation to create a common agenda for pushing the field forward.
In other words, if one boils it down to the quinessence of things - alchemical reference deliberately intended - one has the following applications being explicity or implicitly suggested:
  1. aerodynamic modeling;
  2. weapons systems modeling, which would include thermonuclear, nuclear, thermobaric, and directed energy weapons, robotics, and so on;
  3. climate change modeling (which, by implication, would include deliberate weather modification and geoengineering);
  4. personalized medicine;
  5. neurophysiological mapping(and, by implications, modeling of consciousness from complex integrated networks, including complex network mapping itself)
...and so on. You'll note that the underlying spirit of the President's intentions is a rather interdisciplinary, and from that I would infer a rather analogical, one. This would include, as the article later suggests, a software architecture component.
The real question here is, is there an underlying covert purpose or purpose for all of this? I suspect, of course, that there is. and I suspect that that purpose is in part revealed by the interdisciplinary analogical spirit that underlies the request, for it seems to me that what is really being sought is a hardward and software that can adapt, without significant human input and modification, to a variety of uses in a variety of contexts. In short, I suspect that what is being called for here is the hardward and sortware architecture for artificial intelligence.
But that's just migh high octane speculation... here, it would be interesting to see what other people see in the call...

“PREDICTIVE POLICING” NOW PART OF NORMAL NYPD OPERATIONS

If you saw the Tom Cruise movie Minority Report, based on the science fiction of one of my favorite sci-fi authors, Philip K. Dick, you'll recall that the USA had erected a Department of Pre-Crime (reliant, incidentally, not on software or artificial intelligence computers, but on genetically engineered psychics). This department would quite literally arrest, detain, try, and convict an individual in a secret star-chamber proceeding based on predictions that they were going to commit a crime. A moment's thought about this will reveal that it is an egregious kind of pseudoscience - which, I boldly suggest, much of modern science and its experts have become - parading as justice, for the underlying assumption asks us to believe that future probabilities are deterministic in nature, not in spite of human personality or free will, but in a sense, because of it. That, in its turn, if one thinks about it a little bit, and when phrased that way, is one of those noodle-baking conundrums that modern scientism seems to present us with.
But the science fiction of Dick is no longer science fiction, as this article from our old friends at The Daily Bell indicates:
NYPD to Launch Future Crime Unit
Note what the article sites, and what it actually says:
Predictive policing, an unproven and controversial data-mining method intended to anticipate the location and participants or victims in future crimes, is now an integral part of the largest police department in the United States. During a recent panel, New York City Police Commissioner William Bratton declared that predictive policing "is the wave of the future," and that "the 'Minority Report' of 2002 is the reality of today."
Bratton's remarks, which are the most candid he has been about the department's use of data mining, came during a discussion about Big Data, hosted by The New York Times, with editor Charles Duhigg and former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Margaret Hamburg.
"There are no secrets. There are none. If two people share a piece of information, it is no longer secret," Bratton said in response to a question by Duhigg regarding the risks of data collection.
New York police are "data mining huge amounts of information and developing algorithms that will effectively mine that data in many ways the human brain cannot," said Bratton, referring to the department's trawling of social media and crime data, as well as other information gathered by city agencies, to predict where public safety threats could arise. The department's Intelligence Division and anti-gang units already monitor social media accounts of people suspected of criminal activity, as well as those considered at risk of falling victim to violent crime. – Reveal News, July 31, 2015
And later, this:
NYPD is launching a two-year test of "predictive policing" software called Hunchlab. The goal: Analyze criminal activity patterns and deploy resources more efficiently. That would be fine if NYPD and its commissioner knew how to respect privacy. The evidence, and his words, say they do not.
Bratton led the Los Angeles Police Department to install a network of TV cameras, gunshot detectors and license plate readers plus map the city's entire Muslim population just in case it harbored an extremist. He did the same in New York, and spied on political activists during the 2004 Republican National Convention, too. NYPD has repeatedly violated a 1985 consent decree for privacy violation. So we have reason to be skeptical when the Commish calls for yet more domestic intelligence gathering.
Not to fear, says Bratton. "Citizens should trust his department to not abuse its power and to remain within the bounds of the law," he said at a recent event. Deputy Commissioner Lawrence Byrne says the public safety benefits will outweigh potential civil liberties violations.
"Trust us,"....uhm... yea sure... NOT.
As The Daily Bell rightly observes, perfect security never occurs, in spite of the constant calls of policiticans for more expanded surveillance power, while demonstrating little reason why we, or anyone else, should trust them.
The real implication here, is more disturbing, really, even than Dick's science fiction or the movie adaptation of the same, for note that the algorithms of such predictive policing software are still a far cry from being able to predict individual behavior, including its possible individual criminal behavior. Given the analogy I have been drawing repeatedly in my books and blogs about the close affiliation of finance (and hence human behavior) and quantum mechanics (and particularly the emergence of the "quants", the physics graduates who entered finance and took their mathematical modeling tools with them to construct our high frequency trading algorithms, dark pools, and the whole new discipline of econophysics), one can no easier predict the behavior of an individual human being, than one can an individual sub-atomic particle. Indeed, doing so in the individual human's case, a much more complex phenomenon than a mere particle, is perhaps stretching the idea of mathematical modeling to the limits.
But one might be able to do it, like particles, in groups: religious groups, socio-economic classes, racial groups, could be profiled for "future criminality" on a neighborhood by neighborhood basis. Now, put that with Dick's science-fiction speculations, and you get my high octane speculation, and where this is headed: for now, the Daily Bell is assuring us that the program is only being used to commit law enforcement resources to places where the algorithms predict higher probabilities of future criminality.
And from there, of course, it is - for our modern politicians, corrupt plutocratic and scientismist "experts" - only a short step from the advocacy of the preemptive placement deployment of resources, to the preemptive use of them, against groups.
We've been down that road before. The only difference this time is that the experts have taken off the swastika armbands. But they're no more to be trusted now, than they were then.

Reality’s Rogue Nation: Mission Impossible 5 Analysis

Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust.
Rebecca Ferguson as Ilsa Faust.
By: Jay Dyer
In Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Tomkat returns to save the world, er, Tom, minus the Kat. In the last installment of Ethan Hunt’s (modeled after CIA spymaster Howard Hunt), the “Impossible Mission Force” was able to halt the enigmatic “Cobalt” in his apocalyptic attempt to kickstart evolutionary abiogenesis by nuking the globe. As highlighted before, the film revealed a great deal concerning real-world depopulation stratagems, hearkening to the likes of Bill Gates, Ted Turner and Prince Charles. In this week’s blockbuster, something equally as sinister, and infinitely more complex is explored in the plot – that of the subterfuge of British Intelligence.
Locating a crate of hijacked nerve gas by Australian (?) terrorists, Ethan Hunt is activated for a new mission to track down a mysterious Syndicate, following new leads in a London record store that operates as a front for what he believes is western intelligence. Bookstores and tailors are classic fronts, but the use of music shop is interesting, recalling The Prisoner series, where No. 6 signals he is receiving messages from outside agents, and in Hunt’s case, he appears to have met his match as he is gassed and nabbed by this new organization.
With Hunt disappearing and the IMF disbanded due to government inquiry, the CIA takes over the role of Col. L Fletcher Prouty “Secret Team” style operations formerly helmed by Hunt, while the IMF team is accused of collusion with international crime. Hunt, in captivity, learns the Syndicate is enabling international false flag terror plots, assassinations and large-scale disasters in a long chain of managed chaos.
The film’s most interesting and artistic sequence is the Turandot opera in Vienna, Austria, where two assassins accompany Hunt’s femme fatale lead, Ilsa Faust, seeking to gain entrance to the Syndicate by assuring the assassination of the Austrian Chancellor (should she fail). There is reference here to the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand by British SIS that sparked World War I. The plot of Turandot functions as the backdrop to Rogue Nation, as three riddles must be solved for the opera’s Prince to obtain the hand of the Princess.
Passing the tests, the Princess is still unwilling to marry him so a compromise is offered – if she can guess his name before dawn the next day, he will die and release her from the bond. In Rogue Nation, Ethan and Ilsa Faust exchange offers of a “way out” following her three failed tests for gaining entrance to the Syndicate. Faust’s name is overtly significant, with Dr. Faust representing the “deal with the devil,” as we discover Ilsa is actually under the thumb of British Intelligence, entrapped into infiltrating the Syndicate by her MI6 handler, Attlee.
Death in Turnadot.
Death in Turnadot.
Ultimately, the significance of the opera is quite transparent: Just as the assassination occurs at a certain note in the opera representing the lead’s death, so the assassin’s cue is the deathnote. Expand this principle into twilight language and the message is this: The characters in the play are playing out a script, in the exact same fashion as the oligarchs and their intelligence agencies manage the puppet strings of world events. The World is a Theater in the sense that power elites stage manage world events with the same precision as a symphonic composition. Understand this point well, since it is the entire message of the film. The rabbit hole, the Alice in Wonderland twists and turns of the intelligence world’s hall of mirrors are the background to reality’s “big events” in the same way Turandot is the background to Mission Impossible 5. That is, MI 5 – quite an interesting title.
This terror squad constitutes the “Rogue Nation” of the film’s title, and in my thesis is the film’s true revelation is not the plot narrative, but rather that this is precisely how the world is run. As Jay’s Analysis has argued, the numerous anomalies, patterns, stagecraft and media-complicit deception in the large-scale, real-world “terror” events, ranging from 9/11 (more recently) to 7/7 to disappearing planes, mass shootings, and ISIS, are actually the work of elite western intelligence. In fact, as Ethan flees his Syndicate and CIA assassins, he discovers a vast array of disasters were the handiwork of the Syndicate, including a missing passenger plane that disappeared over the ocean and a bank crash.

These fictional events appear to have obvious reference to recent media mysteries, including two Malaysian Planes, the 2008 crash and/or a host of IMF (International Monetary Fund) economic terror attacks against nations like Spain, Ireland, Ukraine and Greece. Also mentioned is a “triggering of a civil war,” which could be a stand in for numerous references. This “anti-IMF” is presented as an oppositional force to the establishment, recruiting the world’s best international agents following their faked deaths. I have opined in numerous interviews that doubles and staged deaths are far more common that most assume, and here is a Hollywood hint. (See also this film as another example).
Following a barrage of scenes intent on wowing audiences with spy culture gadgetry, the climactic secret is that British Intelligence is secretly behind the Syndicate, and its rogue leader, Solomon Lane is actually being funded by Attlee, the presumed head of MI6. Solomon as the skeleton key of “terror” for Attlee is a significant name for further obvious reasons, suggesting Solomon’s Key and the use of the dark arts (black ops), in unison with the devilish name of Ilsa Faust.
The suggestion seems to be that MI6 has made a deal with the devil, so to speak, to stage manage world terror events at the behest of the Atlanticist establishment, while such terror funding could never be traced back to western intelligence elites due to the high tech encryption known only to Attlee. As a side note, it is worth mentioning that Jeremy Renner’s character, William Brandt, is also the name of an outed CIA operative, Willy Brandt. These are (glaringly opaque) clues that the film is undoubtedly revelation of the method.
And I daresay is it revelation of the method that comes damn dear to revealing reality in strikingly lucid terms, were it not for the absurd solution that America and its “Secret Team” of the IMF are the saviors of a broken system where “desperate times require desperate measures.” In other words, yes, the system is broken, but don’t listen to whistleblowing malcontents, salvation can only come through the American establishment. Yet as we’ve seen with so many similar plots (and this film is very similar to Quantum of Solace and Skyfall), the joke is on the bamboozled populace, inasmuch as the film simultaneously reveals the actual world controllers as it assures these same scoundrels will save the day. G.I. Joe runs Cobra.
