Follow the Money: Do Elitist Forces Control the Release of Technology?

When you begin the serious study of UFOs, it’s almost impossible to avoid at least some discussion of conspiracy theories. For many, UFOs and aliens themselves are alleged to be a part of some grand conspiracy that deals with genetic manipulation of the populace; on the other extreme, the only conspiracy is the outright lie that UFOs have anything to do with space aliens at all.
However not all such theories are quite so far out; for instance, it’s long been held that the U.S. Government has sought to suppress information about UFOs, prompting the exopolitical community recently to take advantage of the Obama Administration’s “We the People” petitions, in an attempt to get them to release info on UFOs (and as expected, the White House gave their expected response regarding the issue). But what if there really were forces seeking not only to control the dissemination of information regarding UFOs and ETs, but also whether or not certain technologies were made available to the public? Furthermore, how might such supposed groups or cabals be related to the global economy, and it’s control of monetary systems worldwide?
A new film, titled Thrive: What on Earth Will it Take, seeks to address such questions. With an expected release date of November 11th (granting it association with the memorable “11-11-11″ sequence), press materials related to the film have stated the following:
THRIVE is an unconventional documentary that lifts the veil on what’s REALLY going on in our world by following the money upstream — uncovering the global consolidation of power in nearly every aspect of our lives. Weaving together breakthroughs in science, consciousness and activism, THRIVE offers real solutions, empowering us with unprecedented and bold strategies for reclaiming our lives and our future.
While there is no mention of UFOs or aliens made here, the trailer tells a slightly different story:

Sporting such names as news anchor Amy Goodman (Democracy NOW!) and Deepak Chapra, it’s interesting to see that a documentary of it’s apparent caliber will also include interview segments featuring David Icke and Dr. Stephen Greer, both of whom have publicly advocated UFO-oriented conspiracies in the past. This isn’t to say that such names will take anything away from the presentation, of course; if anything, the Thrive documentary may altogether be more well-rounded as a result. However, in the tradition of similar “global elitists are controlling the global economy and everything beneath it” films (in the spirit of Peter Jospeh’s Zeitgeist and a few others), it is interesting to see a presentation that figures UFOs so heavily into the story.
Whatever the case may be, this one should prove to be an interesting romp through a variety of the emergent futurist and conspiracy-oriented movements many freedom and technology advocates have adopted in the last few years. With hope, it will also provide, if anything, a more balanced perspective of the situation too, giving fair time and interest to subjects like UFOs, free energy, and other topics that are so often black-listed when it comes to serious discussion.
