GRAB YOUR FAVORITE FORM OF ALCOHOL AND SIT DOWN: ANOTHER ONE FOR THE TRANSHUMANIST SCRAPBOOK

This one was sent to me by Ms. P.T. (thank you!), and when I read the abstract, I literally swallowed. But before we get to that, I want you to turn the page back a few days to President Barmitt Obromneyack’s announcement of a new “Manhattan Project” to map the human brain.
We were reassured that such a project might lead to unique insights and cures to dreadful diseases like Alzheimers’, Parkinsons’ and other neurological disorders.  Why, we might even find ways to kill glioblastomas  and other deadly brain cancers. Thank goodness for the caring compassionate concern of the Dummycrooks.
And if you believe that, I have some tungsten-filled gold bars available for further re-hypothecation. As for me, whenever I hear Dummycrooks or Republithugs expressing “concern” and “caring” and “compassion” I run for the hills, because that’s usually just code for their latest scam to expand their own power.
Well, in that context, consider Barmitt Obromneyack’s call to map the brain in the light of this juicy little tidbit, and in the light of those wondrous projects of the 1950s and 1960s called Projects Artichoke and MK-Ultra to control the mind:
Injectable, Cellular-Scale Optoelectronics with Applications for Wireless Optogenetics
Now for those of you who don’t like to click links, here’s the abstract:
“Successful integration of advanced semiconductor devices with biological systems will accelerate basic scientific discoveries and their translation into clinical technologies. In neuroscience generally, and in optogenetics in particular, the ability to insert light sources, detectors, sensors, and other components into precise locations of the deep brain yields versatile and important capabilities. Here, we introduce an injectable class of cellular-scale optoelectronics that offers such features, with examples of unmatched operational modes in optogenetics, including completely wireless and programmed complex behavioral control over freely moving animals. The ability of these ultrathin, mechanically compliant, biocompatible devices to afford minimally invasive operation in the soft tissues of the mammalian brain foreshadow applications in other organ systems, with potential for broad utility in biomedical science and engineering.”(emphasis added)
Now, when biologists start talking in lovely fuzzy metaphysical terms like “freely moving animals” my suspicion meter tends to go into the red zone, for it is about as convincing as Richard Dawkins talking about Platonic forms (that would be skating too close to the dreaded “G” word) or Dummycrooks and Republithugs talking about “caring and compassion,” for since when, in the blighted western tradition (which I’m defining narrowly here, as the Western Christian cultural tradition, and not the Orthodox Christian tradition of Eastern Europe and Russia) are animals thought to be “freely moving?” That’s usually a metaphysical prerogative reserved for humanity.
That may be a long way around Harvey’s barn to say that the real goal would seem to be wondrous new enhancements for mind control over humans; the implication is there for all to see. Now, the wondrous thing would also seem to be that “these ultrathin, mechanically compliant, biocompatible devices to afford minimally invasive operation in the soft tissues of the mammalian brain” could be injected normally in, oh, say your hospital IV (provided the Obromneyack Federal medical rationing committee decides you’re a worth candidate for brain manipulation), or in a vaccine.
See you on the….Oh, what the heck. Let’s just get Mon(ster)santo to engineer it in the food.
