You can see the target of gun control is the firearm Americans deem most necessary to preserve liberty. The musket the minuteman holds was the assault weapon of his day. There is only ONE historically significant reason to disarm citizens. It is that their exists a power structure that has plans. Those plans usually involve genocide. If the economy crashes and we can't support pensions and welfare, the state will do what states have always done - CULL THE HERD! Useless eaters are a burden on society. Even though they are generally uninformed, they may grasp facts quickly as their ranks thin out and offer resistance. That is why they must be disarmed first. It is the main lesson of the art of war. Oxygen thieves should be the good liberal woman preferring to die by whatever means as a sign of loyalty to the state of helplessness.
