Flashback: Virtually All Mass Shootings Linked Up With Violence-Inducing Psych Drugs
The real cause of mass shootings such as
Monday’s Washington Naval Yard attack could be the psych drugs we now
know Aaron Alexis was taking, and the evidence shows that the drugs are
indeed a common thread throughout mass shootings.
The
mainstream media has long been ignoring psychiatrists and other experts
who have found a link between psychiatric drugs and violence. Instead, calls for gun confiscation
are generally the first to be disseminated. Suspects in at least seven
high profile school shooting incidents over the past 20 years, including
the Columbine High School shooting in Colorado, are known to have taken
psychiatric drugs, World Net Daily has reported. Some media reports indicate that Adam Lanza, the man responsible for the Newtown shooting outrage, was taking psychiatric drugs.
Judge Ruled That Prozac Caused Murder
The truth is that the link between psychiatric drugs and
violence is well known. In September 2011 a judge in the Canadian
province of Manitoba even ruled that
Prozac had caused a 16-year-old boy to stab another teenager to death.
Jude Robert Heinrichs ruled that the unidentified 16-year-old would not
have killed 15-year-old Seth Ottenbriet if he wasn’t on Prozac.
Heinrichs’ ruling was based partially on testimony from Dr. Peter Breggin,
a former Harvard Medical School instructor who has been testifying
about the link between psychiatric drugs and violence for decades.
Unfortunately, the ruling was largely ignored by the U.S. media and the
national media in Canada.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) now admits that psychiatric drugs can cause violent behavior, including aggression and thoughts of suicide
in children. Health Canada (the Canadian equivalent of the FDA) now
bars the prescription of Prozac to children because it can cause
violence.
The link between psychiatric drugs and violent behavior
in some individuals has been well established. There have been reports
of Prozac-induced murders in many countries, including the United Kingdom.
There is also compelling evidence that a large number of
people involved in violent crimes, including mass shootings, have been
exposed to such drugs. It’s time the media started paying as much
attention to the danger from these drugs as it does to the danger from
guns.
Note: It can be difficult to determine if psychiatric
drugs were involved in a violent crime because there is sometimes no
record of prescriptions of such drugs. In some cases, individuals
self-medicate themselves while, in others, psychiatrists use patient
client privilege to cover up prescriptions. That means there might be
many more violent incidents caused by these drugs than we realize.
