INSLAW, PROMIS a Death in Matinsburg – Sabotage, Stuxnet and Exploding Pipelines

MURDER IN THE MARTINSBURG SHERATON-
Joseph Daniel Casolaro, an American freelance writer who came to public attention in 1991 when he was found dead in a bathtub in room 517 of the Sheraton Hotel in Martinsburg, West Virginia, his wrists slashed 10–12 times.
Casolaro was investigating possible links between BCCI, Iran-Contra, and INSLAW. He called the covert operation, in which the CIA was involved, “The Octopus.” His death became controversial because his notes suggested he was in Martinsburg to meet a source about a story he called “The Octopus.” Prior to his death, Casolaro had warned friends if they were ever told he had committed suicide not to believe it, and to know he had been murdered.
For more than a year, Danny Casolaro had been sorting through a web of intrigue — the S & L debacle, BCCI, Iran-Contra, the contra-connected Wackenhut Corporation, the Wackenhut-connected INSLAW case, and the INSLAW -connected “October Surprise.”
INSLAW (Institute for Law and Social Research), was a non-profit business created in 1974 by William Anthony Hamilton, a former analyst with the National Security Agency and onetime contract employee of the CIA. INSLAW developed for the United States Department of Justice as a highly efficient, people-tracking, software program known as: PROMIS (PROsecuter’s Management Information System) the ultimate surveillance tool — a program that could track the movements of literally untold numbers of people in any part of the world.
In 1991, Michael Riconsciuto, project manager for Wackenhut, testified in court, that multiple versions of the PROMIS software were provided to him by the US Department of Justice throughout 1981-1983. Rcionsciuto testified that he was contracted to modify the PROMIS Software with advanced eavesdropping capabilities so that CIA and NSA could  spy on foreign governments. Riconosciuto testified the PROMIS Software was sold to Canada, and renamed the LEAN Software and sold to the Australian Government. By including a “back door”,  the program would allow U.S. intelligence agencies to hack into those computers where ever PROMIS was installed. Modifications on the software were carried out by the Wackenhut Corporation of Coral Gables, Florida.
The files of Michael Riconosciuto were first classified in 1982 by Presidents Ronald Regan and George Bush Senior and were then mysteriously reclassified in 2003 by President George W Bush.
Earl Brian, former chairman of United Press International and friend of both former President Ronald Reagan and former Attorney General Edwin Meese; according to INSLAW owner Bill Hamilton, Earl Brian marketed tricked out copies of PROMIS to the intelligence agencies of Israel, Jordan, Iraq, Canada, South Korea, Libya, Great Britain, Germany, France, Australia, Thailand, Japan, Chile, Guatemala and Brazil.
In the financial arena, a back-doored, PROMIS is even more formidable. Is PROMIS the software that got Vince Foster killed?  Is PROMIS the software used to manipulate the markets, such as has been admitted about the Goldman Sachs program?
By attempting to poke a hole through the heavily cloaked veil of government corruption, investigators like Casolaro have discovered that a mission of truth-seeking can be inherently dangerous if not fatal. Unfortunately, investigative reporter Danny Casolaro learned that lesson too late.
TRANS-SIBERIAN PIPELINE EXPLOSION-
In 1982, US president Ronald Reagan approved a CIA plan to sabotage the Soviet Union’s economy through covert transfers of technology that contained hidden malfunctions. The pipeline software that was to run the pumps, turbines and valves was programmed to go haywire, to reset pump speeds and valve settings to produce pressures far beyond those acceptable to the pipeline joints and welds.
French spy code-named “Farewell,” who was in fact a KGB Colonel, Vladimir Ippolitovitch Vetrov, learned of Soviet plans to purchase some computer management software, and the French, who controlled him, shared this information with US intelligence. Having learned of the impending Soviet purchase, US intelligence snuck a “back door” program into the software that allowed it access to Soviet computer networks, was then used to tamper with a crucial Soviet natural gas pipeline. The result of the saboteur’s inserted “logic bomb”was the most monumental non-nuclear explosion and fire ever seen from space.
SABOTAGE MORE PROBABLE IN VENEZUELA REFINERY BLAZE-
“You can’t exclude any hypothesis … It’s practically impossible that here in an installation like this which is fully automated everywhere and that has thousands of responsible workers night and day, civilian and military, and that there is a gas leak for 3 or 4 days and nobody responds. This is impossible.”
Argument for sabotage – who benefits from such acts of terrorism?
The US is a clear winner on several crucial fronts. Firstly, via the economic losses to the Venezuelan economy – 2.5 million barrels in the first 5 days and counting – the loss will put a dent on social spending and delay productive investments which in turn are key electoral appeals of the Chavez presidency. Secondly, on cue the US joined by its client candidate, Henrique Capriles Radonski, immediately launched a propaganda blitz aimed at discrediting the government and calling into question its capacity to ensure the security and safety of its citizens and the principal source of the country’s wealth. Thirdly, the explosion creates insecurity and fear among sectors of the electorate and could influence their voting in the October presidential election. Fourthly, the US can test the effectiveness of a wider destabilization campaign and the government’s capacity to respond to any further security threats.
Force, violence and destabilization campaigns against incumbent regimes have become a common operational procedure in current US policy. The US has financed and armed terrorist groups in Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Iran and Chechnya; it is bombing Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia and Afghanistan. In other words US foreign policy is highly militarized and opposed to any negotiated diplomatic resolution of conflicts with adversarial regimes. Sabotaging Venezuela’s oil refineries is within the logic and practice of current US foreign policy.
BORN OF UNHEALTHY OBSESSION FOR MONOPOLY: STUXNET
The Stuxnet Worm allows hackers to steal trade secrets, it can also be used to sabotage critical equipment, with ability to access and steal data from databases used by Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems. These systems control and monitor industrial processes used in manufacturing, oil and gas extraction and refining, electrical power generation and transmission, water treatment and distribution, waste collection and even civil defense and communications.
Israel and the United States created the Stuxnet worm to sabotage Iran’s nuclear program. The sophisticated espionage and sabotage which Stuxnet performs is not a product of typical criminal syndicates, terrorists, or common hackers. It is the product of a brutish superpower’s determination in keeping the nuclear field clear of competitors; the cartel of another poison commodity speculators can meter out to the public as the wells run dry.
The most alarming implication of Stuxnet is that the concept of programming malware capable of disabling or destroying critical systems necessary for sustaining life is now in the toolbox of any sufficiently determined entity willing to invest the time and money necessary for deploying such a cyber-weapon of mass destruction. The proverbial cat is now out of the bag – another magnificent manifestation from the depths of depredation, with unimaginable future blowback consequences waiting to bite those pirates on the hill in the ass.
The US is a rogue ship of state, whose criminally insane foreign policies, sail stealthily as though a friend, but upon arrival appears as the rapacious plunderer under a skull and bones ensign, has long since stopped being the emissary of those people she so proudly expresses to be from.
It is for this reason that the Iron Curtain of National Security was manufactured: to keep the prying innocent eyes of the ships passengers from discovering the dark nefarious deeds of its lunatic crew members.
