HOW TO: Deactivating personal information stored on iPhone, Android

It’s being called the “mother-load” of personal information stored right on your phone — where you live, where you work, where you go, including the date and exact time you were there.
NBC News reports there is a way for you to turn it off, but it’s not easy.
“On the iPhone, that personal tracker is buried deep,” NBC’s Jeff Rossen said.
Apple said the information is used to provide “personalized services” and it’s kept solely on your device, and won’t be sent to Apple without your consent.
But not, if you have an Android device — that information is sent directly to Google.
The good news is that if you disable this function, all of your other location services like maps and weather will still work.
Below are instructions on how to disable the function.
For an iPhone
Click on Settings from your home screen
Click Privacy
Click on Location Services
Scroll down to System Services
Click on Frequent Locations, turn it off (you can also clear the history of where you’ve been)
For an Android
Click on Settings from the home screen
Click on Location preferences
Disable the Google Location History
Note: the steps vary depending on the phone model
